Report a phone call from 503-977-6714 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- "steven"Got the call as you all have said. Mailbox, answer and the girl named "alex" starts talking. "I am from Rdd and am doing a research study to find out about some of your political views. Can I speak to the youngest member of the household that is registered to vote?" At this point I jumped right online and start googling. She asked me some demographic data to which I lied. I went through a few questions with her and repeatedly asked her to repeat the questions. _ I figure that keeping her on the phone for a while to keep her from calling anyone else was a good thing and I could keep looking on google. Next she asked me if I "normally" vote Repub or DEM to which I answered with "who is funding this survey?" She replies with we are an independent research and data collection agency, we do not reveal who is funding the survey, this is a blind study. " You are welcome to speak to my supervisor if you would like." By now I already know that even the supervisor wont tell me.
The first series of 5 questions seemed to be about companies and how I feel about the governmental control or non control of them and how I think they are doing as a company. I replied to all of the questions with "dosent matter". They in particular asked me about Nancy Pelosi, I know who she is but told them I didnt. The next series was about President Obama's stimulus plan and if I was in favor of or opposed to it. I again gave the "neither" answer. By now I start asking Alex questions like, if she knows what her companies mission statement is? I read it to her from the website and she didnt even know they had one. We continued, the next series of 5 were about big government and where they were going. Is there too much big government control of things such as, agriculture, timber companies, food processing, toy manufacturing, etc..."neither" was my answer.
The following 5 in the series were more of a Pro Republican stand point. I earlier had told her that I had never actually voted, and I didnt like the questions. Alex couldnt even pronounce the words in the questions correctly, so I told her to answer the series with again "neither". The next series was about taxes and what worried me most, such as layoffs, less raises too much in taxation and borrowing money from countries like china, saudi arabia, etc...and how our children and grandchildren would have to pay it back. The questions that stick out in my mind most are the ones that were about basic government that made no sense. Such as, how the DEMS have all of the control and how there are no checks and balances on the President. There should be more of a Rep to Dem balance. At the end of the survey, they ask your name, income level, wanted your name and to verify the phone number.
I decided it was time to ask Alex a few questions. "How old are you?", she said "17" and that she had already graduated from high school. I asked her if SHE planned on attending college, she said "not likely". Next I asked if she was paid hourly, she said "yes". I asked her how much and she told me she didnt want to say, so I asked "10 dollars and hour?" She said no, "I wish" so I said 8.50 and she said "yes". So I asked her for her demographic background, she was hispanic, and she was in a less the 20K a year job. I politely told her that she did well with her job, however she needed to learn the words in the questions that had more than 3 syllables. For example, entreprenurial, she asked me how to say the word and I told her you are asking the questions. She told me that she enjoyed talking to me and she was sorry for the inconvienence.
They do not apply to the National DO Not call registry due to the fact they are not selling anything. Which was one of the questions I asked her. I feel that if this study were TRULY a blind study then they would not ask only for the MALE in the house.
I am not going to proof read this for spelling errors and such. If you want to read the whole thing please feel free but dont beat me up too much.- Caller: Research Development Design
- ex-employee of rddI used to work at RDD in Las Cruces, I only did it as a summer job to have money for school. Going into it, I thought it was going to be an alright experience, and then we started going into some really deep political questions, and was not liking it. We did too many push-polls. I hated doing it, but I needed the money. There are about 70+ people working here in Las Cruces, and usually 50 of them are on-site. We just sit in front of a computer as it dials numbers for us, we do not know who it is calling until the person on the other line answers. They do not tell us who gave us the survey, we are just there to conduct it.
But the worst surveys we did were the customer satisfaction one from Vonage. This was because 50% of the numbers we called were cell numbers. And as soon as i found out it was a cell number, I would hang up, hoping that i wouldn't get caught because we are not suppose to terminate the call.
The reason why people get about 3-6 calls a is because when no one answers, they computer takes us to a menu and we have to choose, "did not answer, was not at home, wrong number, call back later," and many other ones, and so people would choose "call back." Whenever we would almost be done with a survey, the computer would call back people that did not take the survey, and one time I ended up calling a lady 3 times in a row, and so did 2 other people.
I apologize for all this, but it is something that they can get a way with, I don't know how, but they can. That whole company is bullsh!t. They would tell us to say "the do not call list does not apply to us because we are not selling anything, we are conducting a survey," whenever people would say they are on the do not call list. - KKReceived a call with no message on home phone from 503-977-6714.

- CJThis number dials my number in Texas knowing I have no relationship. They do not leave a message nor will they identify themselves. I am on the do not call registry and yet this call filters throuhg eventhouhg I pay for anonoymous call rejection which is suppose to list name and phone of of any party attempting to call throuhg.
Do not answer these calls and maybe they will give up and leave everyone alone.
Write to Congress and request a review of FCC rules to force all business entitities, their representatives in the back office environment and anyone who attempts to do business must identify who is calling and list a valid number including area code not 800, 888, 877, 866 where this takes away your right to privacy if you should return a call.- Caller: 503-977-6714
- SpokanePoll Call Received
503-977-6714 (RDD Field Services) – poll about Envision Spokane and the Home Builders Association.
Asked my opinion about city council’s effectiveness and Mary Verner. Also, asked about Todd Mielke’s effectiveness. Did the same with HBA and Greater Spokane, Inc.
Went through the Envision platform individually asking how important the issue was and whether I was inclined to vote for it.
The bias of the questions seemed to favor Republicans/Construction Industry/Chamber of Commerce.- Caller: RDD Field Services
- Tracy B. Portland, OR areaThis number called me then left no message. I left a message on the voice mail at the RDD number you all posted.
OK so maybe research groups get around the do not call list BUT in Oregon it is against the law for someone to call your phone once you have told them specifically "Do not call me at this number ever again" They're not even supposed to make your phone ring (whether they talk or not). If you can put them on notice, make note of the date, time, person you talked to. If they continue to call, call the Portland Police Non emergency at (503) 823-3333 and tell them you want to make a police report for telephonic harassment. This will be most effective for folks in the Portland metro area that can go down to the district attorneys office to sign a complaint. - Caron Goodecall came in and hung up on answering
- DaveinLVThe caller id said "Unknown Caller" and when I picked up the phone, there was no answer. I am on the National Do-Not-Call List so I immediately filed a complaint with National Do Not Call Registry at https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx . It has worked in the past with such callers and hopefully will work this time too.
- xyzasked if we had persons 35-45 of age

- StevenI always go here: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
when I get unwanted calls. It has seemed to help cut down on calls. I used to get multiple calls from the same numbers, now, after one or two complaints, I don't get the calls anymore. - jamno answer
- ToddGot several calls from this number. Never leaves a message, and I don't pick up numbers I don't know. Caller ID just says Oregon call, so I looked it up. Looks like a company called RDD that does "market research" surveys.
- Caller: RDD?
- fedupgirlI called the main number at RDD 503-223-7166 and left farting noises on their voicemail. That number keeps calling me too.
