Sometimes these fraud people disguise themselves as someone else. One of the scams nowadays is that they call to see when you pick up the phone so they can give their clients the time when you are home.

Name calling is childish and beneath you.

When this number called me, I let it go to voicemail. The message they left called me by the name "Ms Greenfield". That is not my name. I called Macy's from my personal phone book and they told me that this number is legit. I called the 513-398-5221 number and I told them that their caller may have dialed the wrong number and that I got "Ms Greenfield's" message. They were thankful that I called.

The message claimed to be regarding an online order I recently put on Bloomingdale's. I went to the merchant's website and called back using their official customer service number.

This number is really from Macy's and Bloomingdales. They tell you to call back at 1 866 282 8977 to verify an online order. I asked the rep why and she said they randomly select orders to manually verify for customer protection. It's an inconvenience though, having to call and spending around 5 minutes on the phone to have your online order verified and "released".

Actually, they called and I answered, and it WAS Macy's, verifying something I had ordered twice for two different people.  I gave them the same e-mail for both people, which was what I wanted to do, so that satisfied the inquiry.  Actually I appreciated their checking with me on that.

i got 4 missed calls 1 minute apart from this number on my cell phone and NO MESSAGES LEFT.  i checked this site and found that it's macy's. i don't have a macy's card. have never. i checked my bank accounts and credit cards and no weird activity so i have no idea. really annoying.

Received a call/message from 513-398-5221 with a reference # on the message they stated they are from Macy's verifying an order - I've placed several orders from them in past few weeks - most recent order was yesterday and one today - so I called with the reference # and they were just verifying my order before they released it. They asked my name and shipping address to verify and I was done.  They had all the info on what I purchased - so wasn't worried about fraud - but they are!

It seemed suspicious but thie really is Bloomingdales- I called the number on the back of my credit card and were funneled to them. Someone charged by account fraudulently.

Macy's and Bloomingdale's credits services is operated by the same credit services company.  My call was to verify that I purchased a egift card going to someone else's email address...same as cash as far as they are concerned, so the wanted to ensure it was not fraud.

It is a legitimate Macy's number..they called to confirm an order I placed on line since the ship to address was not on on their records.  Glad Macy's is protecting their customers from potential fraud this holiday season  They were super friendly and polite.

calling from Bloomingdales. But it wasnt me they were asking for, someone else.

I ordered something from Macy's online and then received a message from this number saying if I didn't call back my order would be cancelled by 3 pm the next day. I called it back and had some dude on the other end I couldn't even understand wanting to confirm my order. That's want emails are for.  Whatever. Part of ordering online is NOT having to deal with people. I order online all the time and have never had to go through this. I will not be ordering from Macy's again. What a nuisance.

Someone called from this number letting me know that my Macy's card number was used in an online order. They cancelled card and are issuing me a new one. Legit number.

Legit caller. I placed a large order on Macys.com ($1,000 watch) , not using a Macy's credit card. They called to confirm that I did indeed put in the order and verifying the address I was having it shipped to (my work not my usual home address) . They called just because it was a high dollar amount and because I had changed the shipping address.  They did not ask for any other information regarding my credit card or my contact info.

Received a phone call from this number.  Saying someone was trying to use my credit card at Blomingdales.  They even asked for my Ss#. Name on Id caller Jackie Cook.

It is legit. My guess is that this team is outsourced to another country because the VM I received had a strong accent which made me suspicious. I googled Macy's official customer service and called back on that number. They wanted to validate an online purchase I had made with them. After a brief conversation, they 'released' my order. I think they might be the fraud prevention department

I got a call from this number and was told to call back and 866 number and was given a reference number. They said I needed to verify my information for my online order. I definitely did not place an online order. I first checked my account online and it had a zero balance. I then called the number on the back of my Macy's card which was different from the one left on my voicemail. They verified I had a zero balance and said they did not show any online orders for me nor did they show anyone had tried contacting me.
