1-540-318-7335 called at 8:13 p.m. on 4/9/08, CID - Stafford, Virginia.  HE Asked "specificly for 'the name' of his list!"  Then I told him that she was not home, he asked me if I was Mister 'Mr." I said no, and he said he would call be and haug up!

I called the 1-800 a poster listed for the Police orginization that is listed throughout the thread. I left a message as "You keep calling a Business for donations at number XXX-XXX-XXXX so please remove us from your list.

I think I will start right out answering as such and such business for unknown numbers. That way the delete them right off the bat. Otherwise these people if you pickup and say no I am not Lutz (this is who they are looking for in my case) they just say sorry and hang up. Other option is to play along and then to tell them to remove me from their list.

Checked my voice mail and her a strange voice say "God"!  Pretty weird; I googled and came here.  Maybe the Lord is fundraising for the FOP?!?

They have called me twice over the past 2 days. I answered on the first ring, and was hung up on. They have called in the past as well.  They seem to call in cycles.  They'll try for several days, stop for a brief period, then call again.

I just received a call from this number this evening. I live in VA. I pledged $12, but was told it was not a tax deductable contribution. If this is a non-profit charitable organization any contribution should be tax deductable. I support the cause, but wonder how much of my $12 will actually go to scholarships and/or assistance for the families of police officers slain in the line of duty. I am seriously reconsidering my pledge. I also realize I have opened the door to more calls from these people. Next time I will be sure not to pick up the phone.

I'm home sick today with the flu.  Someone called from this number and did not leave a message.  Thanks for leaving the posts so I could find out who it was!  Telephone calls like this, especially when I'm sick, are really super annoying!

I received a voice mail message from phone# 540-318-7335 on my home office phone line.  The female voice simply said, "Oooh!  This is a business!" and hung up.

540-318-7335 called at 11:00 am. No message. Hung up after three rings... woke me up. Contrary to cid, it was not a local call.

This is AmVets calling on behalf of FOP (Fraterinal Order of Police).  Agree with the above complaints and comments.  Multiple calls, no one on the line.

It is the fraternal order of the police for the state of Virginia.  I shot them off an email to this email address: vafop@aol.com , you might want to do the same.  It would be ironic to have to attempt filing charges to a police fraternity but I've got to put a stop to it somehow and asking politely doesn't work.

I got a call from these guys today around 9am, Caller ID listed it as "Local Call".  That's about as sneaky as you can get to get around the Caller ID block.  I didn't answer it.

I've received several calls from this number, from callers
who never leave messages.  It seems that they have deliberately
subverted the Caller ID system by sending the Caller ID text
"LOCAL CALL", literally, to deceive people into thinking that
this is actually a local call.  (It isn't.)  If they have their
own multi-line businesss phone system, they must be a business
of reasonable size; that they would deliberately mis-represent
themselves, and spend time and money to mis-program their phone
system, shows that they're not a legitimate business.

Call came in on caller ID as "LOCAL CALL". Seems deceptive to do this. I have to wonder exactly who they are contracted to. I want to complain to them. Non-profits are exempt from National Do Not Call List but they should have to ID on the phone as either Unlisted or Name of Organization, not Local Call.

Fraternal order of Police Fall Fund

Calls coming from the number - 540-318-7335 are of no good.
If they are genuine, why doesn't the phone rings when you call them back? Instead it says, the phone as been disconnected.

Is there a number to conact or, complain about these guys bugging?
