What really bothered me is these people knew about my health problems. My health information should remain private between my doctor, insurance company and myself. Somehow this organization is able to obtain private health information. They are evidently purchasing data from a doctor, a pharmacy or an insurance company. This could be viewed as a violation of the HIPPA privacy laws. I filed a complaint with the Office for Civil Rights of the US Dept of Health & Human Services.

Well, I'm back since I first posted on this site on Jan 22nd. I tried it and I'm glad to announce that it's been wonderful! I have received my second delivery of supplies (every three months) and with no hassles. I've not paid any deductibles and my supplies are delivered to my door. I've called on occasion to ask additional questions and I have been greeted with a positive attitude each and every time. My doctor even added a continuous glucose monitoring device and this organization shipped it with no delay. I've called the same sales person each time, Robert Kessler @ ext 888-777-0737 ext 2023 and his E-mail rob@medcareinc.com.
I have recommended my brother, friends at work and even complete strangers I met at the Dr.'s office.
You are really missing out by not at least reaching out and investigating these people for yourself.

After reading this I am scared to death.  I got the same call and was just diagnosed with borderline diabetes.  I have also had a small stroke and often do not recognize dangers as I should.  I honestly can't remember what info I gave them.  I did eventually get a call from my Dr. asking If I wanted to recieve the diabetic supplies.  I said yes and they sent the prescription to the company.  That has been 7 weeks ago and I have not recieved anything.  Does anyone know what I should do?

I got a call from "Francine S...?" of the Chritian Diabetic Health network. She had my full name. She said "I am the one calling people all day asking if you or anyone in your house had either diabetis or breathing problems." Pleasant American voice but the phone number did not show up on my caller id. As soon as I said "No offense but you are not my..." She cut me off with a curt "Thanks for your time." and hung up. No legit business calls and asks for your health information. There were lots of background voices... Stay away. If they are offering free or cheap, it may be because they only need one more piece of information to steal your identity.

I just received a call today from a nice little lady from the "Christian Healthcare Network".  She says she was in Boca Raton, FL when I asked with a phone number of 1-888-777-0737.  When I called back, I got a recording saying "Medcare Health Network".  Since I had a question about supplies for my insulin pump, a supervisor called me back later that night by the name of Robbie Kessler.  I asked him the company name and he said "Medcare Diabetes & medical Supplies" that has been in business "10 to 12 yaers".  I asked for his direct extension and he gave the same number 1-800-777-0737 ext 2023 day, and ext 4009 (evenings).  He also gave me another website of www.discountdiabeticsupplies.com.  These people are very slick and talk a good game, but I really smell a rat here!  Tell them to send you something in writing and take it to your doctor!

Just got a call from this number. SHe asked to speak to me by name and asked did anyone have diabetis (sp?) or breathing problems. When I told her I did she told me abaout a new nebulizor they had and could supply me at no cost. Wanted DR name and my information. Told her I didn't give out info over phone. SHe tried a couple times and when I refused she finally gave up. Was very nice to me, but just not nice enough to get my info. LOL

i got a call this morning and the lady said that they were working with medicare and wanted me to have this new meter that i never had to stick my finger again and it talks.... said the meter was the advocate and i would never have to pay my deductable or 20%..... little did she know i was recording the whole conversation.... they are definately a fraudulant company and would love to have them stopped and prosecuted.... i'll be glad to help with my recorded phone call or testify against this company.....

I looked them up they are scam company.  By far one of the worst in history.  There are alot of good companies but a handful of bad apples exist.  I found this article about the owner in forbes magazine.

Read all about it.  The owner is a liar and a thief and went to jail.  His company called my wife about free diabetic supplies.  They tried to take me away from my previous supplier liberty medical.  they told me they don't charge copays which when i called medicare to ask about this, they told me is illegal.  I have reported them and their owner to centers for medicare. I suggest you all do the same.  They call under many different names which should give you an idea of how bad they are, christian health network, christian diabetics.  They even tried to offer me debt consolidation services.  i guess they do this on the side as well.  danny porush is a bad bad man.  when i threatened to cancel i got very nasty emails and letters in the mail, telling me we were wrong for not using their services and worried me and my wife.  please be careful and use only legitimate suppliers.  PS i reported them to the DNC and i told medicare they called me out of the phone book.  their customer service department if you want to call it that called me and told me they got my number from the white pages.  medicare even said this is illegal.  Please report this company by calling medicare at 1800 Medicare. or visit www.medicare.gov and report them under the fraud and abuse section.  medicare has a hotline for this.  i am tired of seeing innocent elderly get hurt.

I was called yesterday by Christian Diabetics also.  I did give them my BCBS id # and they asked for the phone number on the back of the card also.

I am going to call my BCBlue Sheild today and check up on this.  And I am going to call my credit card company and talk with them also.  

Another funny thing happened yesterday.  A lady called and asked if I would be willing to read scriptures to those that would like this service provided to them.  She asked me what religion I was from.  I told her I could not help because of other obligations.  She was very nice.  Now I wonder if this call could have been these people that called me about free diabetic supplies.  I have a gut feeling it was.   I think they were calling to see what my personality was like and to see if I sounded like a gullable person.  I will see what happens over the next few days.

As in one of the comments above, the caller gave me his number as 888-777-0737 and as she, I also gave him my insurance # and doctor's name and # (no SSN given).  Now I am one of the 'stupid' ones and realize I have been taken by a scam artist.  Could you please tell me what I should now be doing so I'm not a victim of identify theft?

You need to call the Attorney General, BBB, Medicare (800)-Medicare, and maybe even the local authorities. I was a victim of this scam company! They fraudulently billed my insurance thousands of dollars. Also, there have been numerous credit card accounts open in my name. They have all my personal information and things are not going well. On top of it all I found out the bad man that owns this scam company. His name is Daniel Porush. I did some research and found out he ran a "pump and dump" stock operation and cheated people out of millions of dollars! Type his name into Google. Help!!!! What has this country come to!!!

In addition to my prior comment,I previously worked for non-profit fundraisers for over 20 years, let me explain to those of you who do not understand why you are getting calls when you are on a national or state Do Not Call list.  Non-profit organizations (and for profit organizations that raise money for them) are exempt from the DNC list.  Also exempt are political campaigns and anyone you have done business with in the past year.  Most companies will remove you from the list per your request. Unless you are a business, there is no actual law that prevents a call.  Your best bet is to politely request removal with the keys words being " or i will need to call the FTC and report multiple calls." However, any calls after 9:00 P.M. are prohibited.  Just FYI.

Follow Up:  I received my supplies yesterday.  A new meter (it is pretty cool)lancets, test srips and even alcohol prep pads.  I have read all the feedback, but as of yet,this is a good thing.  We will see in a few months.

I too have been called by these folks, and I am also on a "Do Not Call" list.  However, I now just let them talk and pick up a whistle that I keep by my phone for people who call back after I ask that they do not every call my number again. I blow as loudly as I can and for as long as I can and then I hang up.

But we do need to start reporting these folks.

Ever here of stratton oakmont?  Google "Stratton Oakmont" Stratton oakmont was the nation's largest boiler room operation that extorted more than 250,000,000 million yes 250 million dollars out of hard working middle class individuals by pumping and dumping penny stocks.  The owner of that company was no other than Daniel Porush and Jordan Belfort.  Daniel Porush is a notorious conman and he owns this company "christian diabetic supply" with fellow conman and former chiropractor Steven Silverman.  The two conmen have many medicare numbers and they use shell companies to hide the true identity.  They do not follow Medicare's 26 supplier standards, do not respond timely to complaints and have poor to no customer service.  Further more, Medicare does not allow former criminals, those convicted for Federal SEC crimes to become a Medicare Provider.  Mr. Porush is cramming and scamming his way to the top must be stopped.  They are also referred to as a "NoPayCopay" Operation that markets to individuals on Medicare only by promising to waive their copays in exchange for service.  Most medicare beneficiaries do not realize this and think they are getting a great deal, which in reality is illegal.  Please people, i am a union times reporter and i did my homework on this company.  For those that read forbes magazine, there was an article about the con man Mr Daniel Porush in this magazine.  This is major grounds for a whistle blower suit.  I have personally done my home work and interviewed former employees who have worked for this fraud depot.  Links to some articles:

My 86 year old mother got a call today "confirming" her shipment of diabetic supplies. I just happened to be there and talked to the girl and she said they had made a previous shipment three months ago. However, my mother does not recall that. I started looking through her insurance EOB and found that they are "awaiting further information" for these claims from a "non-participating" provider! I fear she will be getting a bill for several hundred dollars before this is over. After looking through the previous posts, I started looking through the internet for Daniel Porush and I was shocked by what I found!!! He and his "minions" have several different "companies", according to the State of Florida - even a "not-for-profit" one - HA! The man should NEVER have been allowed near any type of commerce AT ALL!! He is again preying on his victims and should be sent BACK to prison - for good!

I recieved a call june 2 from this number. they told me that i had asked to be contacted by them regarding a new meter which i remember doing. they were very polite and professional. i gave them my insurance information and my doctor's name and number. a week later i got a call that my doctor  had signed my prescription and that my supplies were ready to be shipped. i got them 3 days later. great meter, quick and accurate, great service, and everything so far has been fine. i got my insurnace statement and as mentioned in their initial letter to me they bull insurance under medcare diabetic and medical supplies inc. i checked with medicare, they have been around over ten years and are a provider in good standing. so far so good.

I receive an automated call saying they are going to ship me diabetic supplies and this call is my authorization to be billed. I now have more supplies than I need and I do not want to be billed for more. Where do I call to stop this?
