I get calls from this number at least once a day! I don't usually answer but when I do there is no sound, then they hang up. Very irritating!! It happens all hours too!

The call is a recording from a Cathy with Financial Freedom about loan consolidation.

I got the call from this number but i was in meeting so i missed it. Then i called back but its busy. Decided to lookup the number and found this thread.

I received a missed call today from 571-261-0045; no message was left.

Might have grabbed the phone at the last ring, however, I said helo, helo... and the phone remained silent. Tried to return the call and received a busy phone.

The caller ID showed Debt School

I keep getting these calls from unknown numbers via my AT&T phone.  I don't answer calls from out of town numbers anymore - if they leave a message, I can always screen the message and then call them back if it is a valid call.  Most of the time, no message is left, and I am comforted by the knowledge that I was not charged for those calls.

Why cant the telephone company do something about this annoying number (571-261-0045) that is being reported by so many people.  If this was the other way around, they would disconnect my telephone and not allow me any service!

Got a call from this number, made some freaky [***] darthvader breathing noises than hung up on my ass. wtf why is there a thread on this call. freaky..

When I originally received this call, on CALL ID the number displayed was 571-261-0045, and the call ID NAME is > Debt School,however, when you call this number back, there is a recording saying that the number is NO LONGER IN SERVICE.  The pre-recorded message that they left on my voice mail was a recording in a female voice identifiying herself as "Cathy" and saying that "you may remember receiving our offer of debt consolidation in the mail recently" (which I did NOT) etc. etc. then there was mention about them being a "non profit organization" and something about a 1.5 % interest rate, and PRE-APPROVED. Of course this all sounds suspicious.  They give specific instructions on when you can call them back, i.e. what time, and then leave a NEW number which is 800-706-6208.  When calling 800-706-6208, a recording, agian by "Cathy" answers and says she is either "away from her desk or teaching a class",,,,,  then there are 3 options to choose from, 1 is to remove your phone number, 2 is to speak to a representative, 3 is if you are not sure WHY they called you and you want more  information.  When selecting option 3, NOW they go on to say that they are an "IRS certified credit counseling service".  To my knowledge, credit counseling services do NOT offer consolidation LOANS with ANY interest rate, let alone an enticing 1.5 %.  Also be aware that during the FIRST call they leave a message saying, "when you call please be sure to have all your statements with you so we can go over them on the phone".  Of course, I suspect this is the time that they will attempt to lure un-suspecting victims into giving them their credit card account numbers over the phone. Not only is this a violation of the "Do Not Call Registry" but I am certain that it is a fraudulant scam.  If you wish to contact me please do so.  Also, I am a Vonage subscriber so ALL voice mails that I receive are ALSO e-mailed to me with the voice mail attached as a Windows *.WAV file so I can, if you wish to investigate further, forward the voice mail to you in which the pre-recording tries to lure you into gathering your credit card statements and calling them back.
I will also be forwarding this comment that I have left here to my local NYS Attourney Generals office.  Thank you for your time.

It may also be good to note that I called the 800 number back about 10 times, each time selecting option number 2, to speak to a customer care representative, and EACH time it was answered by a person named "Ellen", I find this very suspicious that the SAME person can be answering the phone each time and it WAS the same persons voice.

Got a call from 5712610045 - when I answered, they hung up.  Tried to use reverse lookup and got - No info available.
Based upon comments listed here, this is a compaqny that is not respecting "federal do not call list".  Please report future unwanted calls to Federal Gov't

I just got a call from them, too.  Will be adding the number to my cellphone's reject list.

Another possibility that no one is considering is that it might be a front company for the government.  They only need 3 seconds of you on the phone to remotely plant a bug in your line.
