Yep same again. Original contact received via SMS on the 4th I think and then two emails today - messages word for word as above from 'Brono Ross'. I still don't completely understand the logic behind this scam...surely no-one would let their car go to a shipping agent without receiving cleared payment first..??

Got a txt msg from this caller regarding my vehicle for sale in Carsales - exactly the same wording as those above:

Hello,

I'm so sorry, i can only pay by paypal because i have had a bad experience with other payment options before. About paypal, PayPal is the best online transfer for receiving money worldwide,you can register an account with PayPal with your bank details or credit card and if you don't even have any, you just register and once the payment has been made paypal will email you and ask you how you want to receive money, so any transfer you made with your PayPal goes through to your bank account,it is free,safe and reliable. After you have registered for PayPal account,all i need is just the full name with the email address of the PayPal account to transfer the fund and once the payment has been made, they will contact you and notify you about the pick up details and the shipper's information.

PS: You will be getting your cleared funds in hand before you release your vehicle so i dont think there's any cause to be curious.

got the same sms as everyone else dont you think if they were realy interested in buying a car they would call not sms der scammer for sure !!!!

I'm really worried because i've just emailed this bronoross@gmail.com back after i got a text about my car on carsales.. Any ideas of what i should do (or what might happen to me) please?

Just recieved same email.  Very annoying. have replied to this email.  Have called carsales it is a scam.  Not sure how or why.  Stay clear of these [***].  What happended to the old days, of some one coming round to look at your car.  Maybe the old trading post might be easier.

scam caller.   Using false paypal and takes your money.  trust me do not respond.  After he takes your money you can't get in touch with him.   Guy went by the name of Brono Ross and the person who the money was wired to was

omg i got the EXACT email word for word as you. with regards to me selling my car also. except i got a madder name "Diamond Nissi" LOL dang i really just want to sell my car.im really glad i googled that number.

SAME DAMN ISSUE. Seriously is there anyway we can track these people down and give them a good old beating? Beware I have same issue from same number with same Malaysia story. For me however they chose the role play of Diamond Nissi.

Has anyone tried calling this number? I am going to give it a shot, maybe try and sell them a punch to the face. I'll have it delivered by a legitimate freighting agent.

The same SMS and then two emails form Diamond Nissi. Thought it was a scam from the first SMS, but I can't see how "he" expects to get money out of me? Will try to report it to Gmail or AU Fed Police.

Just filled in a Fraud Form at the Queensland Police Computer Crime Investigation Unit.
It seems to be about the only thing we can do. You would think Gmail could just "pull" the account! ?

i got my AD on melgumtree,a girl called MEG ROBINSON message me with the same no. above, said the same things and ask to pay by paypal.. they sing along really good!! and ask to send shipment fees, forklift fees + insurance fees through WESTERN UNION to the name VINOTH NADEGEREN so i have lost $11,120k in 3days.Because of need to sell my car quickly for buying a house i have end up loosing all the deposit money for the house. I put this message up to WARN everyone not to fall for this Trap and Scam from these [***] out there. they are very SMOOTH writing that you can't tell fake or real.!!

I have received the exact same messages as everyone else from DIAMOND NISSI.  Lucky for me my parents are very suspicious.  Dad said it was a scam straight up because no one would send money for a car they have not seen or sent someone to see on their behalf.  When mum read the e-mails she realised that something was up due to the grammar and spelling of the notes that came through from consultant.com (supposedly acting for paypal.com).   I am one of the lucky ones and no money was sent.  Just remember that if something sounds too good to be true then it probably isn't.  You are better off advertising in a paper.

Hi - just got an email from Diamond Nissi trying to buy my car. The writing is juuust dodgy enough to be believable. He wanted to buy my car listed on carsales and have someone collect it on his behalf as he is in - you guessed it - Malaysia;
