I too am selling a car on te.co.nz and received the same text: "Hi, i'm interested in your vehicle on TE.Get back to me on shanamartins1@gmail.com. Emails Only Please, Shana." Number was +42379010570

Did send an email but no reply yet. Won't be following it up now though. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I got excatly the same email... What a fool, I knew not to give out my bank detail, as soon as they said western union i said No way and did a google on his name...

I doubt i will be hearing from him again hahaha

Same thing. Tony Stefan from a Gumtree Ad placement. I downloaded a very neat piece of software from paypal called Iconix which scans your email and verifies legitimate paypal inbound mail and surprise/surprise his confirmation of payment mails are all false. Anyway nice that I managed to pick it out and he didn't get me. Sucker!!!!!

SMS yes interested but iphone almost flat email me - tonystef32@yahoo.com. This idiot didnt even know what he was buying as I was selling 12 items on Gumtree at the time and when I asked generically shoes, jewellery furniture he couldnt reply the bed only "furniture" This had me suspicious to start with...
Same crap about Paypal, Malaysia, and shipping company via Western Union. I know a Paypal email when I see one and the ones I received we not legit.
Pay your own damn shipping company Tony Stefan and pay me like any other honest person would, on my terms - either cash, bank cheque or direct deposit to my banking institution- not your terms!!
I dont think he will bother me again esp when after politely apologising for refusng to pay his way, and advising him of his options I suggested he check over his shoulder coz the Aussie Feds had been informed via my formal complaint.

New Name: Received a text of +19173974853 as well, but he now names himself Barley with email address: barleycoal47@yahoo.com

I just got one too from barleycoal47@yahoo.com. I placed an ad for a mountain bike on gumtree and he contacted me about the whole western union transfer thing. Crazy.

definently a scam he managed to scam me of 2206 for '' shipping fees'' and i dont no what to do to get it back :(
