I received a call from this number stating that an invoice that wasn't paid was sent to this company for collection services. I have dealt with Progressive Business Publications before, and just paid them to be done with it. This time they stated that I accepted their newsletter back in January and even gave them my date of birth. I never give my date of birth out over the phone. I have emailed their customer service department asking them to remove my company from their newsletter several times, yet they continue to send it to me. Unfortunately I felt like I had to pay the invoice in order to not have our company get a bad credit rating, but after reading all of the complaints, I decided to write this post.

Several people have called from ICR, saying they were with International Credit Recovery (ICR). They claimed that our Company was delinquent on a payment but doesn't say with whom, only that my and my company's name is on it.  She informed me that my name was on the invoice and if we did not pay, our company would be put into collections; and that they have proof I ordered something.  I have not.  I have never spoken to these people...I let them go into voicemail and they keep leaving messages saying by ignoring their messages the 'problem' will not go away.

Cathy left a message for me yesterday, which I will not return.  I too was scammed by a phone call I received more than a year ago.  The initial call came in saying they would like to send me a trial periodical - Administrative Professional Update and asked for my DOB as verification of this phone call.  I stupidly gave it to them and have been sent numerous invoices, saying that the company I work for owes them money.  However, yesterday I was contacted by this "collection" agency.  I am sure this is a continuation of the initial scam!  This has taught me to never answer any solicitor's questions and certainly no personal information.  Live and Learn.   THIS IS A SCAM, DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR DISHONEST TACTICS!

Scam!!!!! They first call to offer a free trial of a news letter. At this point you should just hang up. If you accept the "free" trial. They will have this phony collection agency call you and get your credit card to pay for a settlement. They will ask for your boss and corporate. Do not give them anything.

Scam!!!!!! called and said we owed a invoice, this is the second time and 2 different employees.  Called them back and stated we do not do that type of business and never receive anything like this, Chris started to get loud and rude.  Told him to bite the big one and not to call back.  What a bunch of losers in my book.

A lady named Lindsay called my office claiming I signed up for a $299 magazine?!? Said she was from collections and she needed a credit card immediately. I laughed at her and told her to try her scam elsewhere. She threatened to call my boss and corporate office. Im sure they will believe that I signed up for a magazine for $299 lol. What a joke.

We just got a call from Katie saying we owed $299 for their publication newsletter and that we would go into collections if we didn't pay.  Same number as everyone else on here 607-748-4686.  Scam alert I am sure...

Received a call from Lindsey today demanding payment of $299.  I told them we sent a cancellation letter and did not subscribe to this nor received anything from the company.  Lindsey said for me to fax over the cancellation letter to 607-748-6256. So I did and we keep getting an unsuccessful fax transmission.  I tried calling Lindsey, but get a recording.  Next time they call I am going to tell them to go pound sand and they will be hearing from our attorney.

My CS received a vmail. She checked it after returning from her break. Michelle Decker left a message that my CS owes them money for my company. They need to cut this crap out. Taking money from innocent people, shame on you. I called back the 6077484686 number & cursed her out. My workers are my friends, I will not tolerate people calling & harassing them.

Hi, I've been receiving this call from International.... Received a mail from Progressive Business Publications, saying that i owe $299.  Caller was Michelle.  They are threatening and saying this is a final call before they report to somebody.

I spoke with Becky Morgan Today, she said that she was attempting to collect a debt our company has. I explained to her that I needed copy of the invoices but she refused claiming she had already send the invoices  Thank goodness all of you fine people have posted these comments. I cannot imagine how many people panic when they hear they will be reported to the credit bureau and pay these dirtbags.  We will not pay one nickle and will be on the lookout for similair scams. thank you all

Lindsey from International Credit Recovery claims I ordered a business publication (CFO/Controller Alerts) and that I have a delinquent invoice with them. I received a couple of these publications, however, I did not order them - I assumed they were sent to me as a trial of some kind and ignored them. Now, months later, I'm told that I owe on an invoice (which, she won't tell me how much it is or who the publisher is) and that we received these via certified mail so if I didn't receive all of the publications or if I didn't receive the invoice, that is an internal issue.  Regardless, no invoice ever came with the publications I did get.  Additionally, she told me that I received the email subscription to the publication (which, I do not have any record of in my inbox). When I asked for her name and number so I could investigate and get back to her - she insisted that I first tell her what my position was at the company.  When I wouldn't give her that information, she insisted that was fine because she would "just give the CEO a call."  I welcome her to attempt that as I'm certain he will not take kindly to her call. This is certainly a scam of some kind.  I have looked this number up and read countless stories similar to mine (one even describes the two companies being in cahoots - the publishing company calls and gets you to sign up for a free trial subscription, gets certain information from you that this credit recovery company can use later to somehow "prove" they know who you are, never mentions that you will be charged for the subscription, and then sends some phantom invoice that you are then expected to pay).  When I asked her why I had never received an invoice or why the publishing company never attempted to collect from me themselves, she just kept insisting that I received the invoice with the publication each time they sent it and that if I didn't receive it, it was an internal issue. SCAM.

Got a call today from the same company, asking me if my birthday was November 1. She said we'd gotten newsletters and didn't read the fine print. If we wanted to cancel we had to tear out a back sheet and mail it. I never agreed to even receive these in the first place. After sending several invoices for $299, I was expecting a call from this Forum and finally got it. She said it was a 'courtesy' call from a collections agency before she hands it over to collections. She said to be weary of anything on line because 'just one person got mad'. I said it's not just one person, this company has scammed several companies and we never agreed to anything. She said "oh it's happened to me before where I didn't read the fine print and just paid it. I learned my lesson and never did it again. Birthdays are legally binding. It should be illegal but it's not." I'm sure enough people are bullied into paying, which keeps them in business.

got the same line of BS from Cathy at ICR...She would not give me any information as to what they were collecting on since I was not the one that supposedly ordered the product which in this case was a magazine.   I explained that the person they were asking for was not allowed to enter into any contracts on behalf  of our business (which is a public school in Louisiana), and that all purchases must have the proper PO# and proper supervisor's signature.  But she would not give any information about the account as I was not the right person to deal with.  I figure I will not worry about this person.  Should she call again I am just going to forward her information to our attorney.

Same, Katie Dottman called and let me know I overlooked an invoice and our hospital will be going to collections. when I call back 607-748-4686 I get a mail box is full message.

Katie Dottman  VERY VERY RUDE!!!!!!!   Do not speak to her.  She is harassing our company for a bogus invoice we did not incur.  I just reported her to the Better Business as well.

Just got a  call from Cathy at ICR threatening to turn our company over for collection.  When I pushed back she became extremely irate.  I told her to do whatever she had to and I would do the same.  She then hung up on me!
