Said I had money due on loan, no loan. Sounded distorted. Believe it is a scam as not the numbers I call back

I got this call at 0830 this morning.  The ID said Maine Medical Ctr.  I did not answer--left no message.  Probably most likely a scan of some sort.

They ask me questions about my son but would not tell me any information that they had therefore, I did not tell them anything either.

No message, just dead air

Caller ID said from "Main Med Ctr".
Call was partially recorded and partially voice.
Recorded part played my name.
Fraudulent caller said he was from National Police Academy soliciting donations.

Regarding a timeshare my mother in law supposedly still has.  They call her first, then called me.  They wanted to set up a meeting to discuss any financial obligations that we might still incurr from a supposed 99 year contract. I don't remember the company name, but it comes up as Maine Med Ctr.  I did receive a call just prior to this from 4177194972, caller id Nationwide

This number 607-371-6666 called right after  "UNK" caller rang once and then this.  It said on my caller ID "Maine Med Center"...................I answered since my brother was there earlier this year.  A young woman identified herself as being the Cancer Society - I let her have - told her she was a fraud and told her she was being reported to authorities.  This is getting bad.

First, I received an anonymous call blocked by nomorobo, followed immediately by 608-371-6666. I disconnected the call after the first ring and googled the number...found this page with other complaints.  When I called this number, the recording stated, "thank you for calling the nomorobo hotline."  Are you kidding me, I've received many recordings from nomorobo wanting to get info on calls that have slipped by the nomorobo blocker...like I keep track?  Now, it looks like we're gonna have to block nomorobo..

This is a dangerous Cult called Scientology,  they never give up and stop stalking you.  I have changed my number a few times and they always find and keep calling, very creepy.  Have phone numbers all around the country and may phone from ^646 625 0477 (this in one of their numbers, NY area) and say call me back at  323 580 5520 or 323 953 3340 some  of their CA numbers

So what about all of the posts made before yours? They mention absolitely nothing about scientologists.....are they all lying?

Why Am I Getting Calls From 608-371-6666?  Because its a robo-call blocking service!
Here's why you're getting calls from 608-371-6666:

To ensure that we don't block important calls made by humans, when a suspected robocaller calls you, we answer the call and plays a message to them.
If the caller successfully enters the random number (technically called a CAPTCHA), we send the call back to you but we change the Caller id to 608-371-6666. If we didn't do this, the call would get caught in an endless loop.
Here's an example.
Let's say that Shady Charity, Inc is making some calls to ask for donations. Their phone number is 800-555-0100 and, of course, it's blacklisted. When they call, they'll hear the message asking them to type in a random number but, since they have live people making the calls, they're able to get through, heres how:
You'll first get a call from 800-555-0100 and then it will stop after one ring (because we answered it). After a slight delay (while the worker types the random number) you'll get another call (it'll be the same Shady Charity worker) but this time, the Caller ID will show as 608-371-6666.

Got a call from 608-371-6666. no name on caller id so I don't answer it.
if I do and they can't pernounce my name right or my wifes name. Sorry no one by that name here.
I also have no more robos. Phone rings 1 time and goes to nomorerobos message. I like it cause it free.

caller was a dr. office, but musta had  a wrong number. Didnt know it had been blocked until coming here to find out if it was a dr office or attempted scam

Claimed to be from DISCOVER calling my son about "a personal matter".  I asked if he was from DISCOVER card company and he said I'm calling from DISCOVER; I asked again if he was the DISCOVER card company and again the same answer until I repeated it for the 3rd time and then he said he was from DISCOVER card company; called DISCOVER and they said they had no numbers that ended in 6666

How do we find out the real caller ID of the number once they get through and you change the caller ID?

I have nomorobo, TWC blocking, and a handy little device that blocks any call from anybody with the push of a button!  Game over!
