At 5:04pm today, Sept. 13, 2012 I received a call from 609-227-4849.  Tried to call that number back and got a busy signal.  I am on the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST both for my home phone and cell and yet today they called my cell.  When these people are caught and this article indicates they have caught many in the past.....why aren't they thrown in jail.  They are breaking laws...Government Laws.....

I repeated am getting calls from this number and no one answers.  I get a busy when I call back.  It is a recording saying they will reduce the interest rate on my credit card.  It is so annoying.

Received a call on my cell phone today during work. It was from 609-227-4849.  About 15 seconds after I answered it they hung up.

Got a call from this number on my cell phone today at1:16pm CT. Didn't answer.  No message was left.

I received 18 calls today from this number while I was at work.  Hmmm.. if I didn't answer the first dozen times, what makes you think I will answer if you keep calling.

These people keep calling despite the fact I'm on the do not call list. When I asked to not be called, Lee the lady I spoke with hung up on me.

You can call your phone provider and have this number blocked. In mean time, identify the contact on your phone as "** Scam Call - Do Not Answer **... This helps.

Got a call from this number on my cell but didn't recognize the number so let it ring.  No message was left but did a reverse call number lookup and found that this is a telemarketer.  Have received prior calls from them as well even though my number is listed on DO NOT CALL.  Wish there was a way to stop these calls.

Good luck with that. The bad news is there are thousands of complaints about this company not stopping the calls not to mention the unresolved complaints from the BBB that can't find a legitimate address for the company. All that can be found is a UPS drop box (The UPS Store #4567 -   2643 Gulf Bay Blvd Suite 1560-411, Clearwater, FL 33759) that is being used to launder the money out of this country or a virtual office in Las Vegas (Worldwide Commerce Associates, LLC  3651 Lindell Road, Suite D  Las Vegas, NV 89103) with a receptionist answering the phone for multiple non-existent companies.

You are dealing with a company that is owned by a woman in India and registered in Cyprus. If you request to be removed from their calling list and the calls persist then you should continually file complaints with your Attorney Generals office and also file with:

If enough people keep complaining then maybe something will get done. The only option is to go after the companies that are outsourcing to overseas boiler rooms.
Write your Congressmen and Senators. We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in prison, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved. Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.

These scum are also making money by sending their bogus Caller ID information to your phone company. Telephone numbers are Calling Name (CNAM) provisioned and stored in a special database accessible to other telecom utilities.  This means that for any outbound call that transmits a special  code corresponding to one of their phone numbers, these criminals collect a fee for transmitting the caller ID information to the Local Exchange Carrier receiving the call.  When you see a  phone number in your caller ID (along with some name like Card Services), your phone company has to reimburse the caller for downloading that info from the database where it’s stored.
These fees are typically fractions of a cent per call however when these fees are aggregated across tens of millions of outbound calls per week, it amounts to significant money.  Huge volumes of unsolicited telemarketing calls can drive significant revenue into the pockets of these scum sucking criminals. In return your phone company charges you a fee (it may be hidden or $5 to $15 on your phone bill).  Since they only pay out a small portion of this fee you can see why your phone company allows this to continue. However if someone is dumb enough to fall for their con then it is just icing on the cake for them. These people are the lowest form of filth on this planet.
