Not able to make a phone call

The last twondays I have had four calls from 611,  today  they left a messagenabout some account, a womens voice no name or number. I didn't answer any of the calls.  I live in Mt. At&t

4 calls from +1611 to two different cells, first mine, then spouse's.  Each pair was about 2 mins apart between cells, 4 hours apart between pairs.    Answered my second call: Robo msg saying it was AT&T calling, and "account was locked due to unusual activity. Press 1 to speak to agent to resolove."  (hung up and blocked)   Wife worked for AT&T Cellular for 3yrs.....   1) Our account is unlimited (there would be no "unusual activity" to care about, 2) Our account is ALWAYS paid on time (never been late).  3) AT&T national customer care center is closed on Sundays (all calls received on a Sunday).  4) AT&T NEVER uses robo dialers to contact customers.  5) all phones on the account work just fine - able to call, text, web access, etc as normal - account is NOT locked.   Did the math - this has SCAM written all over it !!!

The +61 1 call was from Australia, I do no answer calls from unfamiliar numbers, I let them leave a message. Clear left no message, I've heard this is a scam. I blocked that number. By the way this is the number for my AT&T help line but they do not call customers from that number. Scam!

Got a call from 611 and sent it to voicemail, it left me an automated message about discontinueing my online account to press 1... super weird

For anyone else reading this... answering a phone call does NOT allow anyone to "clone your phone".  Answering a phone call doesn't allow anyone to "hack your router".
Giving that information out to the wrong places, however... now that's more likely to have happened.  But it's impossible to have a phone call hack your phone and router.

I've received 2 calls from 611 saying my AT&T account has been discontinued "press 1" to be connect for help!
Not a chance; so I've blocked that number from my phone.

They said my account was disabled but it's working just fine

Some one called my cell phone. No one answered when I said hello. The number that came up was 611. What should I do if they call again?

They called me about account inactivity twice from 611 and I don’t even have AT&T I go through us cellular

This just happened to me today any weird activity on your phone lately? I didn’t do anything just hung up and blocked their number

Just got a call from 611 - my husband listened for a few minutes, put it on speaker and checked with me to make sure it wasn't legit, which of course it obviously wasn't because our account is always paid up and because AT&T doesn't robocall if you owe them money. You get a notice in the mail. Block this number and don't answer any questions!!

Annoying several calls from 611 number saying is AT&T and my service will be blocked. I don’t have AT&T

Got this call with a recording saying its ATT and my account is locked due to suspicious behavior. I don't even use ATT.... I hang up on it. Got 6 calls in one hour.

611 called me on the cell, did not leave the msg, I am gathering that it is a scam, trying to get you to call the 611 and you are going to incur international long distance call charges and roaming, if this isNOT from your cell phone company "customer service 611" >>>> DO NOT CALL BACK from the phone log, use the 611 when YOU dial back, they might be masking their phone # with fake 611 trying to get you

Is the 611 call valid?  It asked for lots of personal info.

611 is a # given to landline phone companies for their customers to call and report service incidents. 611 can not dial out, it is only a dial into phone #.

Yes,! Someone is calling me with a 611 caller ID . Saying they are AT&T and to push 1 to continue. I do not use AT&T so I was suspicious and hung up. Beware, they are persistent!

Sort of.  Actually you are being called by someone who is spoofing 611 to appear in your CID. This makes them liars and probably thieves. Ignore the call.
