REPEATED hang-ups to my private landline number.

This has been going on for about four weeks straight, with sometimes SEVERAL calls per day.


So we complain and we complain and we complain -- all of us -- but what can actually be done to STOP this invasion of our private lives?!

I'm getting these to my cell phone. Created a contact for them, "Spam." And this image shows up on my screen so I'm not tempted to answer it:

They call now every day or two.  They hang up when my robot-voiced answering machine picks up.

I have been receiving calls from this number to my cell phone for several weeks now but no one ever responds when I answer the phone.

When my answering machine picks up, I can hear voices in the background like a robo-call sweat shop.  They then just hang up.  Caller ID says "TELEFUND INC"

This number is one of two being used to scare you into believing the IRS is bringing a case against you and you need to call 917 267 8679. DO NOT! One reason its obvious its a scam is they also send the exact same bad quality voice recording  from a different state - Washington - using number 206 905 9480.

Many annoying calls per day up to 9:00 PM at night ... they hang up when answering machine starts ... I have left my number on their answering machine and have told them to stop calling ... already am on National Registry Do Not Call list.

Internet search suggests a political call from Telefund, Inc.

Called my cell and hung up. Blocking this number.

I think this is a robo-call, as it occurs at all hours, many times a day, and with irregular numbers of rings, usually only 1-3 but sometimes as many as 6.  Robo-calls, in case there are any lucky souls still unfamiliar with them, dial several numbers at once electronically and speak to the first one to answer, leaving the others with hangups or dial tones.  The message may be either recorded or live.  At least this is the way they have worked in the past, may have become more sophisticated, although I doubt it.  Telefund, which seems to be the outfit using this number, is a business which sells its services to charities and other causes short of volunteers to do their own calling, and it extracts a large chunk of the money donated, so f'r'eavenssake give your money directly to the people you want to receive it.  Or check with the online watchdog Charity Navigator to find out who wastes too much money on fundraisers like these obnoxious phone nuisances.

same thing. never leaves message and am on no call list. wont answer it. wish they'd get the message. glad to read this forum. will never answer; also don't answer numbers I don't recognize any way because of these kinds of companies

called me four times today,,no message,,no sound,,just dead air space,,,my guess computer generated,,but still annoying as can be,,,so  much for being on the DNC list
