Pestering 86 year old woman at 8.30 every morning for a month with promises to call back between 11and 1.30 or to call 1707 to access her new account and internet package . She is happy with the number she has had for 14 years and hasn't a clue about the net. BT deny these are numbers relating to them ?

Harassing text to warn of a harassing call. Repeated requests to stop have only resulted in more calls rather than stopping them.

Received a call from BT messaging service,  re this text number.  The message was: Letter arrived x.  I have no idea what this is,  and this message is very different from other messages reported here.  Comments?  Thanks.

We recieved a call today from 64364 telling us we had agreed to billing by direct debit.  We have made no arrangement with BT but the new purchaser of our property may have done so.  He does not take possession until completion agreed for January 4th 2017.  We do NOT want our phone number used by anyone else.  It is exdirectory. Voicemail message.

They're getting more crafty as I had a text this morning saying.  "BT here. Your phone xxxxxxxxx. We have closed our record of the fault. Thank you."
The phone number they quoted is correct and is with BT, but there has been no fault for years!  Suspect it would cost me £££s to call/text back to them!  Scam

I am sure this is a scam - SMS text would cost, I think, £1-£5 if replied to.  Purports to be from BT - engineer booked/engineer/coming/engineer about to commence, etc.  Might be more convincing if I were actually a BT customer!   My advice would be to contact BT using their normal number, and do not reply to these texts.

Keep getting texts and from 'BT' claiming I've made an order with them which I need to confirm. Never dealt with BT. I've blocked about three of these numbers, all from 'BT'. Really persistent scammers here.

Just got a text from this number claiming to be BT and saying it is to confirm that I have set up online billing. I haven't done *anything* with BT recently. It was on my new phone number which I have only given out to my closest friends and my bank (having gotten so many spam marketing calls on my old one) so I don't know how they got it.
It doesn't ask me to call or text back, which is weird. It gives two links : one to /letusknow (if you didn't set it up) which appears to be a genuine webpage but says it is currently unavailable. The other link to download the BT app, again a genuine BT webpage.
I'm confused because it doesn't seem any way to scam money or details from me and leads to genuine website, but I have not set up anything with BT and have no idea how they got my new mobile number?

First a phone msg "This is BT, we are taking over your line at end of month, please ring ** whatever **.
Then a text from 64364 "your account is ready"
We are with Plusnet, and they assure me they would give us 10 days notice before doing anything like this, anyway (Thanks, Chris!)
Obviously a scam, then.  Shame I didn't note the number in the original call!
