64364

Received a text message from 64364, which is a legitimate BT number. The text said that another customer wants to take over my line and that I should call 0800500288 if this is wrong. I emailed BT who confirmed that it is a scam. Do not call 0800500288, you will be fleeced!

I got a message that my order for a new hub was ordered. I replied saying I never ordered one and afterwards they sent me a survey and then said something about the same thing. I was worried my money would be taken but thank god my balance is the same. Blocking this number

Received a text purporting to come from BT saying I'd given notice that I wanted to stop BT Services. As I do not use BT (am a VM customer), I spent 40 minutes on hold to BT customer services and talked to them about this which I suspect was a complete waste of time. The operator said that she that 'it would be looked in to', as she had not asked for any phone numbers I am not sure how that would be achieved.
The txt number to respond to was 64364 and they also advised ringing 0800 678 1974 which is a BT customer service numbers

Message allegedly from BT reporting that my broadband package was ready
Needless to say I didn't order one

Received a text from 64364 saying it was from BT and an engineer was coming to my property. Checked with BT as we hadn't ordered an engineer, and they told us it was a scam and to ignore it.

Says it’s from bt and gave me a number to ring and confirm billing
Scam! Not with BT nor do I live in England have blocked contact

Got that message...the email address was correct with asterisks blocking every other letter up.
Checked my email account and it is still up and running fine.
The link actually seems to take you to the official bt home page to log in so no idea what the spam is...but obviously not genuine.

DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK - IT WILL BE A SCAM  Why would BT be telling me anything about my GMAIL.

64364 sent a text message to my land line, the message was scratchy and gave options to reply, delete, or learn more about text to phone by pressing number buttons.  Some sort of SCAM.  Message deleted using my phone system not their number.

64364 is a scam text if you log in to reset password. They go into your emails to ask if you have customers for money to pay into their bank accounts.  BEWARE.

I just had a text sent to my home phone saying I had not used my BT email for a long time and it would be shut down unless I put in an email address they gave me. I check my emails almost every day so I know this is a hoax.

Becoming a regular 'we are about to close your email account' SMS message to a landline telephone. Presumed hoax.

This number came via my land line number saying they would close my BT email and delete my exisiting emails and they used my land line number so I could'nt block it

BT do use this number, but beware it still may be a scam.  I had someone trying to prove they were from BT send me a pin number on my phone, for me to read out to them.  The scammers had my phone number and simply told BT that I had forgotten my password.  So BT send me a genuine pin number.  But when I read out the number to the scammer, I'm supposed to think this is a security precaution.  He didn't have a clue - or care - what the number was.  It proved I was me, not that they were BT!  Clever.  Watch out.
