I received a call from this number trying to collect a debt that is about 20 yrs old.  I just hung up.  My credit score is perfect right now.  The problem most people don't realize is that after 7 yrs bad credit drops off your credit report.   The banks that don't collect sell your loan (unpaid credit card, loans, etc) for pennies on the dollar to debt collectors just to recoop something.  The new company can now collect the full amount if they can scare you into it.  The real problem occurs if you pay them.  This reactivates your old info and this debt can now be placed back on your credit record.  My credit card debt has been to at least 5 different collectors so far so I guess they all sell these to other places that feel they have better scare tactics to get the full amount.  I've been told that the original bank will have written the loan off on their taxes so you don't need to pay these old debts if they're off your credit record.  If they'e still on your credit record, work with a credible company such as Experian, Equifax or Transunion to sort out your credit issues.  It won't get any better with these telemarketers calling for money.

Glad I just looked this up and read the comments.  I received a call from that number a little bit ago, but I never pick up numbers I dont know.  I always look them up first.  Im actually considering calling them back just to mess around with them by acting scared and compliant, then turning the tables on them and threaten them with legal action.  I wish I had time for it but I don't.   Maybe if they call again I'll just pick up. Lol
