I received text messages from perdicto about some game, and loyalty points.  What a SCAM!!!  I have two phone numbers on my account with my provider.  BOTH phones got a charge for approx. $26.00/mo for a "premium text" message.  My bill jumped up by $52.oo+/mo!!!

I called my provider to find out what was going on, and the service rep had already had other customers calling about this problem.  He told me how to opt out of this scam by doing the following:

It is a 5 step procedure to make sure you are done with this scam.

    1. Send a text message to 654654 and type the word: unsubscribe
then wait for a response text.
    2. Send a text message to 654654 and type the word: cancel
then wait for a response text.
    3. Send a text message to 654654 and type the word: quit
then wait for a response text.
    4. Send a text message to 654654 and type the word: stop
then wait for a response text.
    5. Send a text message to 654654 and type the word: end
then wait for a response text.

My service rep said this is the only way to make sure you are free and clear of this scam, so be sure to do all five steps, even though after the first one they respond that your account has been cancelled. DO ALL FIVE!

Also, my provider cancelled this months charges from "perdicto"!! Thank you Verizon!!

After getting out of this mess, I tried to figure out how I got into it in the first place.  Then I remember going online to Bestbuy.com to look for video cameras (as my girlfriend and I are expecting our first child).  When I typed in Bestbuy.com on my browser, up pops a page declaring I will receive a $500 dollar gift card.  There is only one option to continue. No "back" or "skip" buttons, just continue.  So, wanting to get to the bestbuy homepage, I hit continue ... a few times ... each page ... continue!  I finally just quit by hitting the red "X" in the upper right hand corner.  That's when all the text messages started coming in.  I have a Rewards account with Bestbuy which has my cell phone # as a log-on.  I must have "continued" by typing in my cell phone # thinking I was logging onto the Bestbuy site.

Bestbuy, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS?!!!???!!!

    Anyway, I hope this helps!!

Predicto Mobile and Residential Email are simply Nationwide scams: please, check your cell phone bills. They may charge health monitoring device cell-numbers for subscribing to the joke of the day.

By some unfortunate coincidence the name of NextWeb Media top management seems to be related to previous unauthorized cell phones charges and scam cases filed across the country in the last 4 years.

After I recouped with other lawsuits, Eyal Yechezkell, NextWeb Media CEO and Itai Kathein, President helped to found another company called Email Discount Network (EDN).

EDN was sued in Florida, Washington State, and Georgia for the same type of scam Predicto is spreading today.

See Washington State Office settlement agreement (EDN)

    See Georgia Settlements (EDN)

    See Georgia Subscriber Refunds
    http://www.georgia.gov/00/article/0,2086,5426814_5684686_80061913,00.html

    See State of Florida complaint:
    http://myfloridalegal.com/webfiles.nsf/WF/JFAO-6U3MJB/$file/EDNComplaint.pdf

A new class action was filed 09/18/2009 in Eastern District of Michigan: Predicto used expired cell-phone contracts to bill new cell phone subscribers see court document at:
    http://www.courthousenews.com/2009/09/18/Alltel2.pdf

Another scam is actually running called Residential Email/ESBI (residentialemail.com) see blog http://tiredcynic.blogspot.com/2007/08/watch- ... mail-fraud.html

My guess is that NextWeb Media, Predicto, Predicto Mobile, PredictoMobile, or whatever is using kind of pyramid scheme to pay back previous subscribers and make profits with new subscribers just like Madoff in the financial arena.

My question now is: do Cell phone companies ever check customers complains, I just send a letter with a photocopy of the above documents to Verizon and ask them how they can authorize Predicto Mobile as a 3rd party.

Dear readers, if you have some time, please send these documents to your cell-phone companies (Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, Alltell, etc…). Hope this document will help get some refund from cell phone providers.

Please report to FBI cyber crime division at https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx and to Attorney General office.

I applied for a job online, mistake.  I actually just got out of halfway through.  Soon after I got these texts from 654654...stupidist texts I have ever seen.  I did not take a IQ test, look at or browse any popups while on the interenet.  Call 800-360-0518 and tell them to stop texting you and that you want your money back!!!  The cell phone companies act like they have nothing to do with it and won't help.  The whole thing is bunch of shi!

I kept receiving texts from this number and cancelled by texting stop to the 654-654 number a couple days ago through verizon and i got a text back saying that i wouldn't receive anymore messages from them. Just a couple minutes ago i got a message from the 654-654 number saying that "premium messaging to this number has been blocked. Only the account owner may request a change to this setting with his/her wireless provider."  I blocked it and definitely don't want it back so why am I getting messages still saying this?

My wife's phone was texted twice by 654654 about some stupid contest with a PIN. My wife's phone does NOT have text messaging bundle so each text costs us $0.20.  I called T-Mobile and they put a total block on her phone for future text messages. T-Mobile said 654654 was Predicto.com.  I then called Predicto (800-360-0518) who said that I could fax (800-305-3018) them my phone bill and they would reimburse me the two erroneous text messages.  The Predicto agent kept saying that my wife's phone number did not have an account with them and the only way to receive a text message from 654654 if it her cell phone number was entered into their web site.  Sure, I believe that.
