I get calls from this office once a week about an old hospital bill.

My initial call was received by a very rude "bruthah". I hung up.

About this account: I was making $100 monthly payments to Hollis D Cobb and Associates, a collection agency, before I lost my job in September, 2009. I immediately called Cobb's office and offered to continue making payments at $25 a month, and promised that I would resume the $100 payments once I found a full-time job, but the collection agency refused the offer, countering instead with a two-month, $50/month deal. I informed Cobb's collector that I was unable to commit to that much money because I will be drawing unemployment of only $330/week while facing over $1500 each month in rent, COBRA and utilities, and I hadn't even included expenses for things like food and medicine.

We were at a stand-still. Thus, Cobb's office referred this account to Brent D. Stamps' law office for collection.

Since then, I have explained to all Stamps' collectors that, despite being unemployed, I offered to continue making payments to Cobb and Associates, but they refused to accept a lower amount for longer than 2 months' time, and at $50 instead of $25.

I was told by the last person at Stamps' office with whom I spoke that they would work with me and set up a payment plan. I offered the Stamps' collector the same deal the original collection agency refused, and promised that I would make monthly payments at $25/month until I find a job. However, Stamps' collector wouldn't accept those terms. He told me that they demand payment in full.

I asked, "Did you not just tell me that you were willing to set up payment arrangements with me?"

The collector: "Yes."

Me: "But you're refusing to accept this arrangement?"

The collector: "That's right. We need full payment because this account is so old."

Me: "If you'll look at my payment history, you'll see that I've been making consistent monthly payments to clear up this debt."

The collector: "I see that, but we need the full amount."

Me: "You just told me that you'd work with me. What part of 'payment arrangement' did _I_ not understand?" I asked. "You are refusing to work with me, even though you just said you would, is that correct?"

The collector: "Yes."

Me: "Well, in my business, twenty-five dollars a month is better than zero dollars a month, but that's your call. Good luck with that."

I no longer answer calls from this number...

This number called my house today as well, told us it was the office of Attorney Brent D. Stamps and to call back and talk to Autumn. The person they are trying to collect from is on medicare and SSI and they want him to pay 1/4 of his income for 4 months, they will not negotiate. I see from other searches that this lawyer (and i use the term loosely) has been sued under the Fair Debt Collection Act (section 1692). Would like to know the outcome of that case....

This law office has been harassing me for several months now.  We have never received a letter from them regarding any debt we owe (according to Clark Howard, you should never call back or speak to a debt collector if they haven't sent you something in writing), so i just ignore the calls.  The thing about the Do Not Call Registry:  My phone number has been on it since 2004!!!  I filed a complaint with them, but I read their FAQ and debt collectors may be slipping through a loophole.  I'm beginning to wonder if we have any protections at all against these people, who are, in my opinion, criminals that should be put in jail (due to the fact that, if you speak with them, they will harass either verbally or legally you into paying them money you should not owe - most of what these people do is buy old debts that6 are no longer valid and, once you even say "hello, " they use that as legal grounds to re-open the debt making you responsible for it again - even if its 20 years old).

This office calls many times a day - when you speak to the manager there he is rude, disrespectful and upsetting to talk to.  If you owe money to someone they represent I suggest you NOT talk to them deal directly with the co. you owe $ to and they will handle your situation in a professional manner.

Have this number 678-250-7180 saved in my contacts - received a call and let it go to voicemail - man leaves a number saying I had called him about purchasing something in the local area.  Leaves a different name and phone number... hmmmmmmm  I wonder if I now have this attorney's cell phone number???

Now wouldn't that just be nasty if we all had his cell phone number and could call him and leave messages to stop calling our number.

they have been calling me none stop for months and its been almost a year

saying 'this is Autumn calling from the law office of...' two to three times a day and so does another robotic call I'm about to get my own Lawyer and sue them for harassment.

they also called me and left a vcmail saying to call back Maxi from some attorney office. totally going to block it..gona try the *77 method..(f.y.i. the caller i.d. read Hollis Cobb Associates)

Not very professional, used scare tactics and threats to resolve issue.

got a msg for my husband on our bsn line to call back was urgent to speak to him. I looked up the number 866-947-5972 and found nothing, when I called they answered saying was law office of Brent Stamps I asked what type of law office and receptionist said cant give that info. Had our lawyer look up name and said was dept collector for bill owed.I have now complained to BBB and cant wait to log phone calls.

Got a call and picked it up and record says call this 800 number but I looked at my caller I D and it left this number 678 250-7180 I called it and it was Brent Stamps Law Offices on hold/recorder again! Who are these people? What a way to do business!!!

Refuse to deal with these idiots.  They call about erroneous bills, and then try to tack on their on fee.  Don't give them your time or money.  They're call constantly.

According to this link that someone else posted.... he only went to school for 4 years.... What kind of lawyer only goes to school for 4 years??

Debt collector, in my case, Northside Anesthesiology. They probably collect for other medical related bills, perhaps beyond that as well. I find that people who owe money give the wrong number out, I mean who doesn't receive calls from debt collectors looking for someone you have never heard of?

Guy went to Georgia State University - Worked as a law clerk for a Judge in Cobb before he decided to go into his own practice. He is currently a member of the BAR association and is active as of Dec. 2009. I've found donations he has made for legal "clubs" and back to the school he attended.

"Kimona" from some attorney office called my phone from this number. When I told her my name was Hugh G. Rection, she asked for me. I said I was not me. And she hung up.

they also called me and left me a voice mail today. why are these people harassing random people?

They called my office wanting to talk to an employee. When asked what's this in reference to, they say "it's personal". I asked them not to call my employee's workplace. If they continue, I'll call my attorney and tell this ambulance chaser to beat it - legal style.

I too receive constant calls and voice mails from this number. Whomever are called by this number, please report it to 911 - That's what I just did.
