Got a call from this number once every minute for 3 minutes.

Really dont like it. Thank god I was sleeping because this would of scared me really bad!

These are ethernet or "switch" calls coming out of business LAN systems, automated or random but that's what they are. That is the what, I can not answer the "why"....

i wass call 4 times today and when i look it was unknow telephonenumber when i won't to call it back it was 6855

I had a misses call from an unknown number, when I pressed to recall it came up 6855. I didn't let it ring as I thought it may be premium rate. I later found it was the police who had rang regarding an interview.

I think it may be an iPhone glitch when unknown numbers call, as that is certainly not my police stations number!

Unknown caller, called back, called the number 685-5. Same as everyone else.

It is used by major companies like debt collectors/ Phone advertisers Etc.
It is not assigned to one specific company.

It would be under harassing IF you told them to stop calling you.

same here in the netherlands, but i get an inknown call and when i answer it calls 6855 automaticly! at least thats what my phonecall list says...

not only iphone, i have a brandnew Xperia S and get this crap once in a while :s, also on my previous xperia1

This number always calls me from 12-3 pm and its really annoying. I get in trouble for it in class! i want to know who this is!

I got the same call from 685-5 try using the app Bad Decision Blocker you have to add that # to your contact list to be able to block it but so far they haven't called back

Is a call coming from an iPhone app. Basically, the app acts as a middle man, the caller dials out a number, the app dials to you, so that way the end-user isn't charged. Furthermore their identity protected.
There isn't really any way to know, WHO is calling you without picking up. It could be a legitimate friend.. Or possibly a scam. Anyone with access to an iPhone can use this.
So be on your toes, and advise your friends to shoot you a text before they call using their app, so you know it's a friendly.

Apps are great, but sometimes it's freaking annoying.

Bad Decision Blocker is not annoying it is a very useful tool and I haven't got anymore calls from this number

10/19/12 - I have been receiving these calls on weekdays for the last couple of weeks.  Both from "blocked" and "unknown".  Usu around 10 - 11 am.  I was not answering.  Picked up 1 x this week.  Waited before saying "hello".  
Caller hung-up.
Answered yesterday on mute and caller hung up.
A friend thinks it might be a man that likes me that I dropped from FaceBook.
I think more from logistics standpoint, another cellphone caller who is trying to track my daytime location by calling my cellphone.  City/town call was made to shows up on their cell call record.
It cost approx $5 a month to block numbers via wireless carrier.
Best alternative I found was change the ringtone to silence or mute after setting up the 68.. Number in contacts.

I installed the blacklist pro android app on my cellular yesterday. It delivers great results to unknown callers. The phone number is always 6855 and it goes straight to the blacklist of my phone. If you want to have no more calls just install a good app.

I keep getting calls from an "unknown" caller everyday at 930am and 530pm its starting to creep me out hard core. if i go to my caller list and click on the "unknown" caller it dials a 685-5 number. i have picked up twice and the first time it was some lady saying that i get all this free stuff because i pay my cc bill on time and she knew my address and everything very creepy... second time i picked up all i heard was beep beep and then they hung up on me. this is getting very annoying. does anything know who it is or how i can stop it?? Ive told telus and they put a blocker on my phone to stop telemarketers from calling me but it hasn't worked yet. if someone could help that would be awesome. starting to get very creeped out....:(

Yes mlady they make you believe they have a company etc and that you won something and finally when the conversation comes to the point you will get a package for free sent to your domicile with so called information to transfer your money. I typed down the company in google and there was nothing to find. They know indeed your privacy records and that confronts people very hard but infact they found your records legally of third people. Mcafee mobile security and blacklist pro will do the trick believe me. If it doesnt stop you can always report it to the police or your mobile provider.

i have told telus and they have nothing to block it seeing as its an "unknown" number. thanks for your help i will look into mcafee and blacklist for sure. hopefully they stop soon its been a week i just dont understand how they got my number.....
