Got a call from the 718 461 2809 number today. The person said she was kim from hr but never mentioned the name of the company. She said she got my info from my resume on monster.com but i never applied to a sales manager job. I found it strange so i decidd to do research and ended up on this site. This kind of job is not for me..and it's probably not for you either. The sad part is i was hype too lol.

I'm currently being trained as an agent. I paid for the course, paid for the test twice and am in the hole upwards of $500 ++ dollars. I can't say if this is scam, but sales is not for me, never has been. I called out today on the training and was yelled at by the manager saying "FYI this is unacceptable" How, if you're not paying me to train and all I'm doing in memorizing a script, why can't I have a sick day and do all of this from home without wasting my gas and time.... I'm going to stick with it for a bit, but I have a weird feeling that this really is not the job for me. I was recruited the same way and unlike a lot of you I didn't research anything... just think about it before you agree to an interview.

People don't waste your time thinking this is a career for you, they are a scam, they just want your money. A real job doesn't operate like this only pyramid schemes do.

Got a call from 7184612809.  National Income insurance company.  Said they were in Flushing, but the woman spoke too fast for me to understand all that she said.  I heard "manager" but the rest was a blur.  I never applied to this company (rep. told me she found my resume on careerbuilder), and I don't apply for anything to do with a manager, because I (realistically) lack the experience.  After I hesitated to accept the interview the HR person tried to throw at me, politely telling her that I wanted to look up more information about the company before I decided to go on an interview, she said "okay--okay--okay" and hung up.  I won't be calling them back.

If you made good money as you said, why did you leave?  Yes it's true that they give you a bad rap from inception.  I don't understand why people keep doing this, for they are only hurting themselves.  One question, did they provide the qualify leads as they claim?  Prospects from the union labels and so on.....

Mr. JB, as you identified yourself:

First, let me congratulate you in defending your organization.  However, if you would it have identified yourself with your full name that will lend more credibility to you and your organization.  The fact that you identify yourself as JB it shows that you are hiding something.

I have been reading the comments posted by dissatisfied prospects.  But the reality is that some of those comments are true.  Not about the company but the unprofessional and deceptive approach that you guys are using to prospect for sales people.  I can attest to that.

You must understand that this is not for everyone.  You guy do a tremendous disservice by using deceptive approach to lure in potential candidates.  Instead of being forthcoming and truthful, you are only to blame.  If you do not change your business approach towards recruiting, it will take not to long to destroy your credibility.

The old ways of doing business, "it's a numbers game" mentality no longer works.  Consumers are more sophisticated and educated.  It only takes a click of the mouth to have information at your command.  This is a good example!  It's call bad press and you are the only one to be blamed.  Whether or not a decide to participate in this program, it remains to be seem, but regardless, I hope you pay heed to these words of wisdom.

    Good lluck

I went for a interview based on the fact that this was a management sales postion making 50K to 60K per year. I wish I googled this company before I went. It was such a deceptive way of recruiting people. The first interview was 2-3 minutes long based on how you looked. The next step was a presentation that was almost 2 hours on how you can make over 100K per year. You start at the bottom as a rep and make no more than a sales associate at Sears. I said to myself what happen to the management postion at 50/60K. Then I got a call that night for a 3rd interview which I said to myself not to go. These people are scammers because they make money off of poor people they hire who really need a job based on false hope. The class to get your licence is $300.00 in house but outside school cost only $195.00. They make the extra $105.00 on you plus $100.00 for training supplies. Thats $205 each new hire. Do the math!!!!!!!!!!!!!!STAY AWAY

Thank you RW for posting this information, as I was all set for an interview tomorrow and had been doing research about this company all weekend. what sparked my interest was reading how you had prepared for the interview and never reached the place of interview or the interviewer.when you called her.. I received a call at 5:00pm from a so called HR person named Shavon indicating she a had received my resume from Monster.com. She stated that she had an opening for a supervisor handling union employees questions.for Pappas Group? ,she went on to say that this was not a Sales position.  I stated that my resume indicated that I have been a Banking professional  and knew nothing about employee benefits. Since I'm presently unemployed due to the recession and have been looking for work. she asked if I'd be interested in interviewing. Now after reading all these threads I'm going to call this HR Rep Shavon and ask her if this job offer is actually recruiting people to sell Life Insurance for NILICO. The company name "Pappas Group" (probably an affillate) which she mentioned.  I googled and all I found was 1 comment which was very negative by an ex-employee., very much like the comments posted on this site.. Thanks you saved me the time, money, gas and tolls. Plus who interviews for a Job on Saturday.at 10.15am not unless it's retail... Wow

I am so grateful for finding this website. No one got call from "odalis" ??? Lmao I got.a call from her yesterday from 718 461 2809 ext 1018 She called once more after not getting me the first time. Any legit place hiring someone will not continue to call. They will call once and leave a message and whether you call them back would be up to you. DUH.  Apparently the office is in flushing queens. She said the same thing to me "we are offering you a position as a manager and I got your resume on career builder. Unfortunately some people will fall for this without doing enough research. People who are unemployed and desperately looking for some source of $$ will be willing to work under conditions like these. Let me just remind you all that you should never have to spend all that money for any legit position. This [***] is a money hungry business. I dont care if a million reps from this company wants to try to defend it. Im happy' I didnt waste my time!!! Dont waste yours either. Im not willing to burn myself out for a measly 500  a week if that! I made money at 19 at an amusement park. Unfortunately there are many other companies like this  especially the "security guard" positions that you pay 400 for a license and then they dont help you find a job. Glad I didnt fall for that either. FOH and if anyone from "nilico" has a comment, feel free to post.

Received a call from someone named David calling from "The Pappas Group." My caller I.D. showed the number 718-888-8962. He said that I had submitted my resume to them (which I had not - never even heard of them) and would I like to come in for an interview.  He sounded like a slimeball - spoke to me with the inflections one would use when talking to a newborn or puppy.  I told him I was unavailable and he hung up on me just as I politely began to request that all of my contact information be expunged from their call list.  He sounded like a predator sniffing out people desperate for jobs.

I got a call from a Gloria and researched it and found the Pappa's group thing and this site. The number she gave me to call was 718-461-2809. Maybe we should add this to the roster. It's weird because she's called twice. I have been unable to pick up when she calls, but she seems desperate. Not like any company I have ever been called from. Normally, a company will call you once, leave a message. If you don't call back...you loss! Beware!
