These calls have been a thorn in my side as they are totally unnecessary, and if I want my credit card interest lowered I will do it myself. Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop these annoying calls.

Doesn't this go against our NDNC list and hence would the affending company(ies) be subject to legal action of some format?

Got a call this afternoon and saw the number displayed as a long distance call. Picked up and heard a recorded voice at the other end. Something about credit card. I just left the phone on table and continued with my work. Came back minutes later and phone was disconnected.
I think the best way to do with these guys is to leave the phone on until they finish. After all it's a long distance call. They have to pay.

If this number is calling Canadian Residence who have registered their phone on the Government's Do Not Call list, do you think we could make a complaint or would it just be useless as this is likely a scam?

Hey MANNY (Manny - 31 May 2009) you fn idiot, your calls have a habit of interrupting my dinner, waking me up and just simply annoying the hell out of me. I am getting ready for work and you morons call. Yes I can ignore it, but still if you wake me ignoring is not very helpful. (I ignore all calls from scamming BS-ers like you)

And what kind of legitimate company has employees that go on the internet and claim, quote "Hell yeah I'm going to hang up on your a**, got that? "  Oh yes, and "And another thing, why should I tolerate your idiocy and your stupidity?" Don't tolerate idiocy and stupidity, just STOP CALLING!!!

And what about this:" It is NOT I who calls you, got it? " Well you work for the company that makes a major nuisance of themselves. How honorable is that? Are you offended that you got mentioned here? Then maybe its time to find a REAL job where you work hard and make an HONEST living. Check out the definition of LAZY in the dictionary. But don't be offended if your picture is beside it, MANNY, because that is what happens when you believe the world owes you a living. Or you believe that if people are that stupid than they deserve for you to scam them. And MANNY, what made you check the internet with this phone number if you work for a  legit company? Just curious to see if your company has a mention on the internet? Hmmm...food for thought.

I understand being frustrated about phone calls, but if you are not interested, simply have your number placed on the Do No Call List. This does not make the company a scam.
And to the people complaining about calls on a holiday......"Victoria Day"..."Boxing Day"....SERIOUSLY GUYS??? Believe it or not, life goes on like normal on these days for most of the world, so you'll have to excuse them for continuing to do their job!"

SERIOUSLY, what gives you the right to enter into my home with your unwanted soliciting on a holiday that I want to enjoy in peace?!!!! On any day for that matter. My phone number is NOT for PUBLIC CONSUMPTION. You only think it is because you choose to work at job that is not legitimate work!!! And I will not excuse them!! And I do not have too!!

Very pushy, sly, and smooth and opperate very well with all three. Don't give them your visa no. even if they have the first four numbers right."

Of course they would have the first 4 numbers correct. All the Visas have the same first four numbers!!! Geez people we have to educate each other, and cut these scammers off at the knees once and for all!!! Stop answering their calls, stop thinking you can get something for nothing. Stop giving them ANY information AT ALL!!!!

I wonder if these people used to call under 111-222-3334 and 121-212-1212 before. These calls finally stopped after months of not answering. Since the last calls came to me probably January of this year and this thread was started May of this year, why would it not be them? If they were a legit company, why don't they display the name of their company as well as the number? My doctors office name comes up. My bank, my work, my friends. All their names show on my call display. Why doesn't this wonderful helpful company show me their name? Wouldn't it be in their best interest so I can call them back and take part in incentives? Dummies. I am fed up with these calls and am actually considering getting rid of my phone. Seriously, I have had enough!

Received a call from this number at 5:30 today.  I AM on the Canada Do Not Call list.

I pressed '1' as the recording said to said interest on my cards.  When the guy answered he started off by saying that I had pressed '1' to save interest charges.  I countered that I was him to put me on their 'Do Not Call List'.  After that I heard nothing.  You can bet I did not make it to the list.

So, next call is reported to the Do Not Call people.

I called the number just below and got an angry sounding man who demanded I not call him as he has nothing to do with outbound calls...he has apparently gotten other calls in the past. I keep trying to call the caller ID number back but get nothing but a busy signal. They have called as many as 7 times in a day and I'm getting so annoyed!!!!

The calls from this company had stopped but they started again the past few days and I get at least one call a day. OH, and BTW, being on the Canadian Do Not Call List is exactly how they get your number. Th stupid CRTC canadian Agency SELLS the DNC List to anyone with a couple of hundred bucks. So these idiot companies get a list of nice useable numbers and there is not ONE thing we can do about it. I have registered my complaint about the DNC List with my government representive as well as the CRTC and the registry but there is nothing thst they will do. WHAT A STUPID WASTE OF TAXPAYER DOLLARS!

    Enough already!
Over the past couple of weeks this number has started to appear on my phone at regular intervals, and now increasing in frequency. I have never been able to answer the phone at the time of the calls. Due to the number of calls I have been receiving, I started to look into this matter. It is evident that many people in Canada have been receiving these calls, and have made a variety of attempts in getting off this list.
I cannot understand the rationale behind a company continuing to place calls to people who are obviously not interested. Not only do these types of practices give the comapnay a negative image, but from a business stand point what a waste of time and money on the companies part. I realize that telemarketing is around because it can be a successful way of doing of business (if it didn't pay off...nobody would do it).
In researching the number found on my caller ID - I ended up at the Better Business Bureau website in Denver Colorado. It listed this company (with the offending #) as World Class Savings (and also Allegiance Telecom and JPM Accelerated Financial Services). The 1-800 # of the company was listed as many of the previous posts (1-888-878-1014). I tried calling this number and after several rings it lead to a beep and dead end (this is also the contact # on the World class savings web site). On the Colorado BBB web page it indicated this company was not under there jurisdiction - and directed me to the Central Florida website (www.centralflorida.bbb.org).
Upon going onto the Florida BBB website the company had an F rating WORST RATING A COMPANY CAN GET (and is listed as JPM Accelerated Services Inc (and other names World Class Savings and MGA Accelerated Services). They are also not accredited with the Better Business Bureau. I have filed a complaint through this website (based on the number of calls I receive). And received an automatic notification via email from them indicating that follow up will be completed - and that a copy of the response will be sent to me. The BBB has an open complaint file on this company since Dec. 2008, and 20 complaints have been made to date (most without response from the company...all are listed on this web page). I am not sure what kind of authority the BBB has in the United States - but I am in hopes that my complaint - and any others they may receive, will result in addressing the obvious issues within this company (or at very least that they stop call me). If you search for this company on the BBB site - it also contains other contact info and names for the company.
I also filed a complaint on the NDCL website (as anyone outside of Canada is expected to follow the same rules), but at the same time if the company is not located in Canada - that it can be very difficult to enforce.
    So let's see....

Oh, I forgot to mention that I have registered a complaint with Canada's Do Not Call List (DNCL) twice before now and nothing has been done, not even a response to my complaints. I'm not going to do it again. This Canadian bureaucracy (CRTC) is a sham and a waste of taxpayer's money! They are idiots, high priced government white collar workers who haven't a clue! (Am I angry?.... nahhhhh)
