I got a call from them today. First red flag - thought it was kind of wierd they couldn't tell me what positions were open in their company. Second red flag - she said she was looking at my resume but asked me if I was currently employeed - it says that! (Current position: 2000 - Present). Third red flag - asked me where I was coming from...again if you have my resume in front of you, you would know that. Really glad I did a little looking around on the internet before I drove to Eatontown.  THANKS EVERYONE!!!

I got a call today from same # ext 1809 .. I told the guy when he said (ray ) 2 interviews n second one was s group interview I asked if this was some kind of sales etc he said no .. thank god I googled this before driving 45 minutes to this scam and having to put out money for daycare to go to this bs interview ...

Thank you for posting this. I got a call from Pam about a position from an 856 area code. They could not tell me what the position was for or even the salary range. She just insisted that I come in for an interview. My dad was so right about this being a scam.

wow got a call from ann I have an interview on tuesday at 10 so glad I did my research, I was actually going to come to my real Job half day so that I can make the interview...So happy I din't have to waste gas to go all the way to west orange!!!

Same as everyone else they called me without me ever applying for a position. Sounds pretty illegitimate for me. Dint interview and waste your time

Called me this morning about an opening for management position, sounded shady and I find out later what a scam!

Received a call from an Elizabeth Lopez, today Aug. 22.  She said that her boss "Mr. Ackerman" was very anxious to meet with me and discuss my resume.  There was several positions opened in my field and they were extremely interested.  She said she saw my resume on Monster.com.  I made a 9:30 a.m appt for Aug. 23, the address is 151 Industrial Way E, Eatontown, NJ, the company she claimed was Torchmark Corp. and she was going to email links so I can read about the company.  When I called the number on the i.d. is was showing the name E. Giglione assoc. but answered as  America income.  No one was available to answer my call, I dialed 0 for the operator and an automated message came saying that I reached American Income Life Insurance??????  I am glad that I looked this up on the internet.  Thanks everyone.

Its amazing that people post on this site without even giving the company a real look!  Amazing! I work for the company and i must say that everything that I have been told is absolutely true!  I really can care less if any of you give it a shot thats completely up to you but to trash the company without knowing anything about it is crazy! The job may not be for you but the company has experienced double digit growth over the last 6 years straight thats why they are looking for more people to bring into the company!  Go ahead look the company up on BBB you will see the rating is awesome.  Also one of the best insurance companies rated by AM Best!  So before you trash it, you may want to take a look at if your lucky to be called!

Got a call from "Matt" this week - wanted me to come in and meet with "Mr. Ackerman" about a position. Wouldn't tell me what the position was for, or any relevant details.  The guy could barely speak clearly.  Needless to say I cancelled the interview and am wiping my hands clean of this.

I'm not trashing the company, but I do have too agree with some of the others on how they go about it.
If someone is interested in me, they should know what job they are looking too interview me for. With all the research I did as some of the others did on here. I can't say that what I came across or found isn't far from what they said. This seemed like a group type interview of information. Too see if this is something I might want too do...which came across too me as Selling Insurance, which I told Rosa, from HR for her boss MR Ackerman, that I was not interested in anything that had too do with selling Insurance. I have no desire too get training that I have too pay for, too get a sales license, or state license. too sell, insurance. and the name of the company did come up as American blah blah blah...Than why don't they just say that is the name of the company.
Aflac pulled that crap about the interview, and from there if you wanted a private second interview because you were interested in what they were selling than you got it...been there done that...no one is saying the company isn't a good one. But, why HIDE there true intentions.Remember they seeked us out, not the other way around. so you may be partly right for defending them because you work for them. But, there are many out there looking for jobs and are desparate too get and settle for anything. And I feel are being manipulated under the stress of it all.

I agree with you...i recieved the same type call accept from Rosa for Mr Ackerman, she couldn't tell me what the possition was that he was looking too fill either. Named many different one..(flag) I set up the appointent, infact it is for this Wed. I further researched and came up with the same info as you did. not only his name Ackerman,  but another. Giglione.  I don't understand why they need Torchmark too Cold CAll for interviews. They should just be open and up front about it all. I would have been ticked off too no end too have traveled all the way too Eatentown from South Jersey, just too find that this was a group informative interview.  Been there and have done that crap with Aflac, at least with Aflac it was local too my home. I didn't have too travel 35 plus miles.So if selling Insurance is what you want too do than I say go for it, but that crap isn't for me.

yes it prob...is a legit job. but the way they go about getting you there is BS they do it with false hope.

Beware!! They are on Craigs List now.  I saw their posting under Business/Management jobs in the Jersey Shore section of Craigs List and sent my resume.  "Management to Administration Positions", offering $40,000 to $60,000.  They called me saying I was a good match for a management position and scheduled an interview with Mr. Ackerman.  Glad I saw these posts.  Won't be going. Same phone number and Eatontown address as other posts.  Very disappointing.

It's actually not just insurance!  The company is hiring for several positions which is why they don't specify on the phone...Yes it is an Insurance company and a subsidiary of Torchmark Corp. so where is the lie?  Management positions are included also...So suit yourself it really is up to you whether to go to the interview or not but all Im saying is if your at home jobless or looking for an opportunity, it wouldn't hurt to take a look and make your own informed decision as opposed to trashing the process on sites like this.

I had someone call on my cell phone stating that they received my resume from Monster and asked if I was looking for a new o position. I told them I never posted  my resume on Monster and not to call again.

If the company is legit, I can understand that. However, when someone calls to set up an interview on behalf of someone else, and they can't stop stuttering the entire time, that looks shady. I got a call one day to set up an interview for the next day. I managed to schedule it for two days out, so I could do my research. Lo and behold, AIL wants me to drive over an hour to an interview, when there's another office less than 30 minutes from my home?

Sorry, not interested in interviewing with Stuttering John (who can't seem to properly research potential applicants), and I am certainly not interested in a position if I can't find out about it BEFORE I waste my gas. Get someone professional on the phone.

For those who haven't done the research through the Better Business Bureau website (www.bbb.org):

Note the last statement: The BBB doesn't endorse the business (or its services) and hasn't made a determination on the business' quality or competency.  Buyer (or applicant!) beware... Stuttering John could be making a call this week to you!

If I ask specifically about a certain position, the recruiter should be able to tell me if it is available. I've worked in sales and marketing... worst experience of my life... but I also learned that Sales & Marketing Managers frequently assign other job titles to employees in their department. So a Telemarketer is now an Appointment Setter, a Telesales Associate is now a Customer Service Representative, etc. I am the Gatekeeper. Welcome to the nightmare. :)
