I just got a call from them about an hour ago, almost everyone here is saying that they are in NJ but they are also here in Texas. Reading this really makes me not very sure on the company but I'm going to go to the interview and give them a chance. Who knows what will happen?

not sure who stuttering john is but I can agree that sometimes the recruiters could be trained better.  Truth of the matter is Im just validating the opportunity which is a legit one! No matter how you look at it. Good luck with your job search

I just received a call from John from HR to meet with Mr. Ackerman. Again, he did not have a specific position he was calling on. Asked about my background and said he had my resume from careerbuilder, and they are looking to fill positions in Eatontown. I asked why his phone number came up area code 856,(which is south jersey) he said he was in different locations and he gave me his cell phone number to call back just in case. Seemed too shady for me.  Glad i read these reviews too.

I am here to say that I actually WENT in for a job interview and took a job with this company. Yes I did get a call from the recruiting office and I was skeptical. I am not the type to listen to other people without finding out evidence of my own. I am still currently working for this company and there is no voo doo or other stupid things. I did have to pay to get STATE insured for my license but that was it, and guess what....I GOT PAID BACK!!!! Yes it is a commission job and it would be incredible if I they would give out more information on the phone, but they don't. I have been with this company for almost 7 months and I have no problems. The only problem I see is that people who don't like commission post crap about the place I work without having any FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE. Do your own research and don't post unless you actually know.

I called the number listed 732-225-6190 #1875 and spoke with Eileen. I asked her specifically if these were sales position and she said that I would have to interview with the Director and at that point he would determine my strength and where to place me.
As I continued my job search on Craig'slist , I saw a post for management positions for Torchmark in Atco
which had a different contact name and number. At that point I googled the company's name and found you.
I will definitely steer clear of this company.

Don't give these people the time of day. They called me 8 months ago claiming to have several available positions. I went in for the "interview" only to find about 30 or 40 people in the room who were also there for this exciting oppurtunity. I spent the next hour and a half of listening to Mr. Ackerman go on about some B.S. and on and watching a boring movie only to find out that in order to have the priveledge of working for the company I had to pay them! The cost was $300 for training and then I would be "hired". I imagine they offered everybody in the room the same deal no matter what their qualifications were. I have no experience in this field yet they were extremely excited to "hire" me. Imagine that in today's economy. Just today I got another call asking me if I'd like to come in for an interview tomorrow. As soon as I heard the name "Mr. Ackerman" I told them I'm not falling for this scam and hung up.

Called and said all the same stuff I read on this site.  the same thing happened to me with Aflac.  Glad I'm canceled the interview.

ohhhhh i regret putting my resume on career builder.........now i'm receiving a tons of calls and emails from these kind of bull [***] companies.....scam companies is everywhere I HATE MARKETING.

Well, this is a real company, not a total scam, but the way they go about their business is reprehensible, starting with the interview process. Interview bookers are given lists of numbers generated from Monster, not from people who have actually expressed an interest in the company. They are encouraged to call these numbers as the more people they recruit, the more people will be under them when they progress to be managers... meaning they will have to work less as they will reap the benefits from the new employees' hard work. "Mr Ackerman" is in fact a real person, but he has never seen your resume as you will be informed he has. The interview is a group one - everyone will be called back for a second one unless you've failed to dress "professionally!" There will be a video presentation with lots of rah-rah you can do it style motivational speeches designed to press your greed buttons. If everything was honest and up-front from the get-go people wouldn't have a gripe with this company. Why not just tell it like it is? If people ask If it's a sales job, the scripted answer is "there are lots of positions available" which is pretty much a lie. All they're looking for are salesmen. Moving on, if you do go ahead, pay for your own licensing and start work for AIL, the process of calling people to book appointments involves more deception. The word insurance is never mentioned - people think you're either delivering a "no-cost" child safe kit (basically just a cardboard folder they can write their kids' info on) or some union benefits which as it turns out they already have if only they delved into their union's policies a little deeper. The job entails a LOT of, if not quite cold-calling, then certainly luke-warm calling, and a LOT of running around to appointments in dangerous neighborhoods. The hours are long, and need to be never ending if you are to achieve the sales figures promised you at the presentations or final interviews. If you hit it lucky there's money to be made, but I suspect not as much as people claim they make; there are some pretty ropey looking cars in the AIL agents parking lot. Basically beware and do your research - at the end of the day they do have a product that even poor people need and can afford, but the way they get that product to the consumer is based on white lies and deception all along the way. If you can live with that, good luck.

I too received a call from this number this morning asking if I am still job searching. Caller's name was Bernadette. Caller ID shows as EGIGLIONEASSOC. She requested I bring personal references and notepad tomorrow at 10 am to interview with Dave Ackerman, the senior manager. I as told it is a customer service position for American Income at 151 Industrial Way East, Bldg C, Eatontown, NJ.  After seeing all the info on this page, I'm not even going to give a courtesy call to cancel. :-)

I Also received this call & sadly not my first time down this road!!   I'm going to the interview tomorrow @ 10am & will repost to give you all the REAL STORY!  I'm sure it's a real business in order for them to stay active, but Lets find out How Much of a scam it is!

#1- Not everybody gets called back for a final interview.  Only people who the hiring manager would like to speak with outside of a group interview, because something sparked their interest.  So that part by Drone is a lie.

#2- It is not cold calling.  The people on the other end actually make the first move and contact the company first and say hey... I am interested in learning more about the benefits you have to offer.  That's when the agents call them, to set up an appointment.  So Drone... lie number 2.

Read before you comment. I said it wasn't quite cold calling, more like lukewarm calling. Nobody contacts this company because of their "benefits." Note the word "insurance " is avoided by them at all costs! The "people on the other end" have usually merely requested a Child Safe Kit and are not informed that they are being approached as insurance customers until the representative is in their house. Possibility number two is that they have qualified for a very small free AD&D policy from their union - AIL buys these leads and the spiel this time is that the agent is delivering their free policy, nothing more. NO-ONE says "Hey I am interested..." first because AIL don't advertise anywhere; it's not possible. As far as the hiring process goes, my point is that they're not too picky. There's a high dropout rate, so they have to keep feeding on new recruits, the same way a shark has to keep moving.

I went to look for the address given to me from these people on good maps.
The address they gave me was 151 Industrial Way E, Eatontown NJ.
I looked under googles regular web search and saw all these comments about this job interview. I am fraeked out now and very confused. The number they left on my voice mail was 908 380 3672. But a I have had a lot of missed calls from  732 225 6190.
I believe this is a scam. 2 different numbers and they just asked me for an interview without telling me to what specific job it was for. If they tell you sales, they dont tell you what you will be selling.
After reading all these comments I will not attend the interview tomorrow morning. However I will do my own investigation on the matter.
Also the phone call I received was from a man he claimed was Mike Santuchi or maybe Santucci from human resources.
And came from a company called Torch Moore Corp.
Told me to look from Mr. Ackerman.
Im not entirely sure if this is a scam, but he did leave me with too many questions and not enough answers.
Please everyone be careful. If anyone has any leads, please post.

It's Torchmark Corporation. They say this instead of American Income Life so it doesn't sound quite so obviously a life insurance job.

this company needs to be reported -- they aren't offering job -- you will be a prisoner/slave if you take a position

I did go in for an interview with this company and I was hired. I work in the Eatontown office which is the main office. I haven't been with the company that long but yes there are multiple positions but only if the manager you interview with is currently hiring for that specific position. The general idea is to hire as many people to become field agents as possible so the few that enjoy the work and make money can be successful. It is long hours and because it is sales it is commission based but I love it and I have made more money than I ever have working an hourly job in management. I did have to pay for my license but that was it and I got reimbursed for my cost. I hope that some of you who actually want jobs do go on the interview and FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF instead of listening to this bull crap. I know that the person who recruited me gave me honest answers which I really appreciated, her name was Laura. Wish they were all more like her on the phone because according to the posts the other recruiters don't know anything.
