Got a text from 77893 it said:

I text back STOP and got a text saying:
" DEALs. You have opted out of the service. For more info visit www.AutoWeb88.com"

I NEVER signed up for anything or submitted anything so im not sure what "submission" the text is referring to. Grr.

thease stupid messages are bugging me if they dont stop ill sue its harrasing me about stupid cars loans money and any other scam they can send me. it pisses me off!!!!!!!!!!

Mobile number they spammed has been registered on Do Not Call list since 2003. Reported to FTC and FCC.

I have started getting these even though Verizon is *supposed* to be blocking all short codes and texts from email addresses. This is illegal even if your cell phone is *NOT* on the Do-Not-Call list. File a complaint here:

Select "Wireless" and then on the next screen select the top option.

I'm on the phone with AT&T reporting that I got billed on texts from 77893 to see what they can do about it.  They have suggested replying with "STOP".  Any idea if that will work?  They have also said go to mymessages.wireless.att.com which will allow me to block texts from specific numbers.  I will try that too.

Would you stop sent to me these messages ? And I will be a happy man. Thank you very much

Never reply to unsolicited advertisements like these--it's simply a confirmation for them that you have a working number. Report them instead.

I get a message from 77893 almost every day either its houses or cars i responded stop and these messages still come

Text is always about "Need Extra cash?.... something stupid."

I just never open them and delete them. I think this way, you do not get charged for the text.

I want to know how they got my number. I think it might be from Snag a job. com. I can't think of any other website I've been on that I had to give my number and it turned out snag a job is not a very good website.

I started getting texts from this number the day I had my cellphone service turned on. Unless the AT&T sales rep who gave me the number signed me up (I doubt it), this company must send out texts to random phone numbers. The only other possibility is that this number was on their list from whomever had it before me, but last I knew the phone companies are supposed to keep a phone number out of service for 6 months to a year before recycling it. I'll have to look into getting this crap blocked or I'll have to have my phone number changed.

I received a spam text from the number 778-93 at 10:27PM last night (Apr 7, '10) and it contained the following message (excluding the promo code):

Of course, I didn't reply as this will just verify my number as valid. I did make sure I was registered on the National Do Not Call Registry. We'll see if this mess continues.

I have.  This is the only thing I could think it came from.  Quite annoying...
