TO EVERYONE-HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS TO UNSUBSCRIBE:

Google the www.phonepayplus.com main website, go to their privacy policy page. The directions to unsubscribe will be there. Look for the ones for the service you were subscribed by them for. There should be another 5-digit number that you text STOP to. Be sure to capitalize, because it might not work if you don't.

The nerve of these people! Hope you all get your money back.

Apparently these people are still at it, judging by these posts, even though they got sued TWICE and lost!

Here is the link in case you all want to organize a class-action lawsuit:

My son got a message on blackberry messenger saying to text 78878 and he would receive a free song of your choice. he text the number which cost 12pence and then received 3 text messages in the space of 2 minutes each costing £10 (£30 in all). The first text said " this is a premium message. you will be charged 10 p". and he is not sure what the last 2 said.  he received no music. This happened just over a month ago. no more texts since. Have told the phone company about it but they say there is nothing they can do. Just told me to txt 78878 again with the word STOP. but I am worried they will take another £30.

I was contacted via Facebook from a "Friend" who's account had been hacked and she was locked out.  It indicated she needed to contat home and she had no credit.  I messaged her on facebook, I thought I was talking to her but it was obviously someone else and I texted 78878.
I have been charged £8.50 per text.  I contacted Gangparadise who said they would email me within 72hours with instructions to obtain a refund but I have not received the email yet!
I have also texted stop to this number and stopped all premium numbers on my phone.
I have abtained 2 telephone numbers: 08450751148 which is the number when they promised an email and is now permanently engaged and the other was from O2 - 08701994741 which is  a recorded message asking you to hold as they are busy and eventually asks you to leave a message.  I have also contacted them from their website but still no contact.
Still trying to get a refund!!!

Gangster paradise is a game with ordinary people on. I know as I play it. Txtnation are the team who supply the codes. The 78878 is a code for the game which has to be phoned for you to receive the code. You dont mysteriously get codes without you texting the code in.
If anyones sons, daughters or who ever says I didnt send it, check there browsing history, and Im sure they probably have been on gp at some point.
The game administrator has now in place a security system so no one should be conned again.

Lool! All of these mum's and dad's and silly teenagers.. Bless Lool!!

    Let me end this short.

In the Gangster Paradise (GP) TOS, it states.. Actually I dunno what it states, no one reads the TOS :P .. You can read about GP credits here http://www.gangparadise.com/tos.php then scroll to the bottom.

Long story short.. GP doesn't care about you getting scammed. Your fault. If your son/daughter plays it, they WILL get addicted to it.. And your bills will continue to rise.

    - Google.

Its not a scam , i have used this no befor in the past to buy in game credits in a game called gangster paradice app ( you must be 18 or over to play ) , tho its up to the parents to put in place a block on your childs phone, tho gp will never send out a txt with out your child clicking the ingame link and entering their full mobile number ,( on an older mobile ) the newer version on modern phones now auto. redirects you to the app store , and as txt nation only provides the payment service other companys might share this number but use a different code :) gp is in no way to blame and when you sighm up you agree to the terms abd conditions and agree you are of age to play . my advice is to simply not let ypur kid have a contracy or to get it caped

●In a separate ruling, Telecoms billing company txtNation Limited has been fined £65,000 after fans of online game Gangster Paradise were hit by a premium rate scam.

PhonepayPlus said players were targeted through social networking sites and forums including Facebook and MSN Chat with lures ranging from helping someone who claimed to need to top up their phone so that they could call a dying relative, to gaining access to a "sex cam".
