Thank you! I was just thinking the same, how did nobody else notice?? It's simple math. The comment was posted in 2013 so the person would have only been 20 years old with a 17 year old daughter.. and that's impossible. Also if they make the excuse that, "oh that was my daughter's birth year, not mine" that still wouldn't make any sense because if it was posted in 2013 and the birth year was 1993, she would've been 20, not 17.

Read other comments. Seems this is a billing agency for a hospital. My son was in the ER at summit medical center. Medical bills were paid in full by those who sent him to the ER according to the criminal court judgement. I had actually just verified this about a month ago. Haven't received a bill from this visit since the court case was heard and judgement passed over six months ago. Cannot possibly owe anything to them anymore.

This number called me at 9:30am central time. I didn't answer because I was asleep (I stay up too late and sleep in too long.) No message left.

They did the same thing today and I got nasty with the lady. She said they are on a different time zone. I also told them I would be making a payment tomorrow so she said that she would make note of that so i wouldn't get a call anymore. Well, They have called me every night after 9pm for 5 days straight. I'm sorry, but I think paying electric, rent, and water is WAY more important than NPAS calling wanting my payment. The lady didn't like my southern charm very much.

We receive daily calls (sometimes multiple daily) from this number and when we answer receive dead air.  We have no outstanding medical bills yet continue to receive the calls.  Thanks to the post information, I will contact my medical providers to see if our information was inadvertently passed to them.

They will never leave a message of any kind because doing so is in violation of HIPPA and privacy laws (even saying the name of the patient reveals that person was in the hospital for whatever the reason).

This is National Patient Account Services.  They are the billing office for Medical Center of Arlington, and possibly other hospitals as well.  (They will never leave a message due to HIPPA and privacy laws  -even stating the name of the patient they are looking for on an answering machine reveals that person received medical attention, which violates one or more of those laws)
Before knowing who this phone number is, I called the number simply asking who they were before I felt comfortable divulging our information.  The rep was extremely rude in that all she would do is request my full name.  I said I would like to know who I am talking to before giving out my full name and she said "This call is being disconnected due to no response" and hung up.
After researching the phone number and finding out it was NPAS, I called them back (knowing my parents have been hospitalized in the recent past).  This time, I got a very pleasant person who was very helpful and we resolved everything in 5 minutes.  I did suggest to her, that due to all the fraudulent activity going on in the world, they need to understand that they can't expect people are just going to simply start spitting-out their personal information because some pushy stranger on the other end of the phone is requesting it.  She apologized again.  I hope she brings that up next time they have a meeting.

These people called me at 8:20 tonight (I didn't answer.)  I just now looked through my caller ID and found out that they called me four times in five days.  Why am I not surprised?

They're the collection agency for St. David's Medical Center here, and unfortunately I've had to use St. David's services several times in the last six months.  For 2 1/2 months, I went to their wound care center for a venous ulcer on my ankle and racked up an outrageous $1000 + in co-pays.  I have decent insurance with BCBS, but they don't pay well on this treatment.  In fact, my co-pays are higher than the amount that Blue Cross pays.  They take care of the wound care visits ($100 each discounted to $65) so the money I owe is strictly for supplies, and it's ridiculously high because the center is part of the hospital.  If I ever need wound care again (knock on wood), I will NOT go there, but rather to a more reasonable facility, albeit less convenient.

My first bill was over $600 for about five visits in three weeks -- for "supplies."  Oh, and everything is double because I had to change my dressing at home between visits, and you can't take the supplies that have gone home back to wound care with you.  Also, the nurses just love to load you up with way more stuff than you need, not bothering to warn you about the cost (they don't know and don't care.  I've learned that most of this stuff can be had very cheaply by ordering online.)  I promptly paid $100 on the bill, but not long after that I got a phone call (I'm not sure whether it was NPAS) persuading me to pay out the rest in three payments (never again!)  I'm holding back on the last $100 because on one visit, my treatment was screwed up by a rookie nurse (or tech.)  It was a leg wrap called an Una boot that I had to have removed the next morning.  It was actually harming my circulation.  They didn't even replace it and I told them not to charge me for it.  I'm not paying.  I have photos to prove it wasn't applied correctly.  I was in pain that entire day at work because the head nurse just put a fabric tube on my leg that didn't provide the compression I needed.  I normally wear compression hose but didn't take my stocking with me because I assumed they'd redo the boot.

ANYWAY, I have another wound care bill for $281 (each bill from St. David's has a separate account number, which is stupid -- why not a single account number for all of your services?) and one for $24 for my last visit, where nothing was done (they just looked at my healed wound and slapped on a bandage.)  There are probably more bills lying around here somewhere.  Two days ago I received "final notices" from NPAS in Louisville for those two bills, claiming a due date of August 30.  That's like, now!  I'll pay the $24 one for now, okay?  I've already given these people over $500 in less than three months.  I'm divorced, supporting myself, and I can't afford to pay as much as I have been.

In June I got an MRI at Austin Radiological Association, where I've had many tests over the years and have always been billed after the insurance comes through.  Well, they charged me a $184 co-pay up front.  I got my EOB and surprise, surprise -- they've been taken over by St. David's.  AND according to BCBS they overcharged me by $70.  Has St. David's contacted me about giving me my $70 back?  Heck no!

After that I had surgery at St. David's with a one night stay, which they tried to bill BCBS $72,000 for (and tried to rush me out of the room the next morning after a cold breakfast that took over an hour to arrive.)  Blue Cross reduced the total to $16,000 and my share is over $1600 (mostly "equipment and supplies," of course.)  Funny, the $175 co-pay for the room that they tried to get out of me upon checkin (I didn't take any form of payment with me so I didn't pay) isn't on my EOB.  That would have been another overcharge.  Regardless, I still owe St. David's around $2000.  They'll get their money when I can afford to pay it.  Although I get the bills from NPAS, I do pay online on the SD website.  I don't use checks or mail payments.  The strange thing is that I've gone to their wound care center three times since 2010, and I always get duplicate bills from San Antonio and Louisville.  What the hey?

I want to thank everyone here who has provided information about NPAS.  Hearing about their rudeness and prying people for personal information has made it an easy decision for me not only to never talk to them, but to block their number!

I got another bill from them today.  They are now threatening to turn me over to a debt collector if I don't pay the last $100 on the first bill by the 5th (which of course is a holiday.)  This is because I made an arrangement with them, not knowing that I could say no.  They pressured me.  NEVER AGAIN!  I blocked their number but am going to call and tell them that I'll pay them when I can pay them.  And I want an itemized statement for that first bill so that I don't pay for the Una boot that was screwed up.

I just had to write a little note to you --it's been 11 years since I lost my daughter.  I know it seems unbearable right now, but time does help.  I do understand where you are now and I will be praying for you.  I don't know your name, but God does.  Also, you can block calls on most cell phones or download a free app that will.
