- annoyed| 2 repliesI keep getting calls from this number as well. They ask for a person I have never heard of and when I called them back to ask to be taken off their call list they claimed I owed Rogers Cable for my cell bill. I do not have a cell phone. I then called Rogers and they told me they have my home phone listed as someone elses cell number and that person has not paid their cell bill for 5 months so they are having the phone number cut off. I told them the number belonged to me and not that other person and after checking their accounts they admitted they made a mistake but they can not fix the problem so I should just ignore the constant calls. What do I do if they shut off my phone service? They had no answer for me.

- YourNightWorstMare replies to collectorMr. Collections Agent,
Perhaps you and your fellow bottom feeders should check out the situations first. You falsify claims on peoples credit bureau paperwork, I had one of these low life's actually post that I'd made a payment (each year around the begining of the new year) in order to attempt to keep it alive. What needs to happen is that you start getting taken to court as we can get up to $25,000.00 in a small claims court. Hence the beauty of utilizing the call trace function that each phone company has in every province. It gives even more credibilty to the side of the hassled!
You guys fear taking anyone to court as more often then not, there are many things that you can be nailed for ... your not that legal nor or you following all the rules. For example, you do not use proper automated calling equipment ... and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
In reality, all any of you can claim to be is a drop out from telephone sales people, phoning to try to sell your line of verbal direahea. Get a job ... better yet, get a LIFE! - RobAlmost everyday I get phone calls from this number, they ask for a relative who has never lived with me. Apparently he gave them MY address and phone number as HIS contact information a few years ago. Now, I get a lot of phone calls from this number They leave some number to call back at but of all the hundreds of times I've tried to phone back I get that "this call cannot be completed as dialed" message even when I've dialed it correctly.
I CANNOT get these phone calls to stop. Even when I pick up the phone and answer it right away I still get this crazy sounding message from some Asian woman who can barely speak english.
I personally have no outstanding bills and sure as hell don't get any payday loans from any place. I wish I could get these phone calls to stop. - Tony SteelReceived several calls from this number recently, stating they were from the Credit Bureau of Canada, yet when I returned calls they were busy or there was no response. Highly suspect !! How do we stop these calls or, at least, have them identify themselves and state what they are calling about??? Thank you

- Seriously??I just received a call from the Canadian Bureau of Credit and Collections from this number. This guy said that he needed me to call him ASAP because he has good news about something they sent in the mail. Made it sound like a sweepstakes or something. All I had to do was call back and give them the account number he left in the voice mail. Honest collectors? Sorry but if you're going to lie to get people to call in, you're not exactly trustworthy or a company I'd want to deal with. I've had issues with a student loan and was ripped off my a debt collection agency ARC who took my money and didn't put it towards the debt owed, so no, I'm not dealing with them or companies like them. I'm going to deal with the source. There are ways people end up owing money, but there are places out there that give decent collectors a bad name. There are people like that on both sides... collectors who just want to get what they can from people and people who just won't own up to responsibilities. There are good ones too on both sides, but an instant red flag for me is lying right off the hop in a voice mail. Be honest and let the chips fall where they may...

- Tammy replies to collector| 1 replyI'm guessing your are one of those pricks that call and harass people who don't owe the money.
Here's a look at the laws surrounding the agencies and what they aren't legally allowed to do to you.
When They Can First Call You
It's the ultimate in dialing for dollars. But several things have to take place before they can contact you for the first time. Under the Collection Agencies Act, they can't call you until six days after you receive a letter containing the name of the creditor, how much you owe and the name of the agency trying to get you to pay up.
They're barred from contacting you once you tell them you intend to challenge the charge in court. And you can also request that they deal strictly with your lawyer and they're obligated to use him as the conduit to try to get the bill paid - without bothering you.
When They Can Call
One of the first things consumers complain about when they get on an agency's radar is the endless phone calls that follow, hounding them to resolve the issue. But under the rules, they're only allowed to contact you three times in a seven-day period without your consent and only after they've spoken to you for the first time.
They're not supposed to call on holidays and they're only allowed to ring your phone on Sundays between the hours of 1-5pm.
Who They Can't Contact
In most cases, they can call your workplace only once - and then just to obtain employment information. And with rare exceptions, they can't bug your spouse, relatives, close family members or your neighbours.
What They Can Say
They're allowed to be persuasive and demand payment but in the words of the government, they can't use "threatening, profane, intimidating or coercive language, or exert undue, excessive or unreasonable pressure" when they're speaking with you.
When They Have To Stop
If you honestly aren't the right person they're seeking, they're obliged to stop calling you and check to find the right debtor. And if you've paid your bill, your phone should stay quiet.
How Can I Make A Complaint?
Call the Consumer Ministry at (416) 326-8800 or 1-800-889-9768 if you think you have a legitimate beef. Joe Di Nunzio is the V.P National Business Development at Credit Bureau of Canada Collections (privately held: Financial Services Industry) he has worked there from Oct 2003 to Present prior to that he worked at the Supreme Credit Corp (Financial Service Industry) from Feb 1992 to Oct 2003. So basically they are both the same Corporation they just keep changing their names because they are getting in trouble for being corrupt. His home number is 416-651-6186; his address is 14 Lonborough Ave., York, Ontario M6M 1X3. So basically this man doesn’t know how to do an actually job for a living he just likes to harass people who don’t owe money, I would guess that most of the people there all have police records so they don’t care if they get into trouble for harassing people.
John Kim, Executive Vice President at Credit Bureau of Canada Collections, his past job was for VP Sales at CBV Collection Services Ltd. Sales Representative at Creditel. He went to the University of Western in Ontario so he’s an educated man I can’t think why he would want to be involved with someone like Joe Di Nunzio - Joe Di Nunzio replies to j cJoe Di Nunzio is the V.P National Business Development at Credit Bureau of Canada Collections (privately held: Financial Services Industry) he has worked there from Oct 2003 to Present prior to that he worked at the Supreme Credit Corp (Financial Service Industry) from Feb 1992 to Oct 2003. - IslandgirlFiled for bankruptcy two months ago and dude from this number calls me to offer me a resolution. Trying to get hold of him to let him know he is not to phone me AT ALL and can only talk to my lawyer and funny enough, the phone number is unable to be connected. Isn't that interesting.

- me replies to collectorthe calls may be able to start as early as & AM, but NOT before a letter is sent
- Debtor replies to collectorIf you don't have the funds to pay your debts, don't bother. Let them write it off. Even countries owe, us, canada, uk etc. Don't even sweat it. Get a secured credit card if you need one, but please don't have a high blood pressure over a debt, it's not worth it at all. Life is NOT forever, so don't sweat it!

- Had EnoughIt is a collection agency, and in my case I filed a consumer proposal 4 years ago. They still harrass me even though I have no legal obligation to pay this debt anymore as the original creditor failed to respond to the proposal. After 2 years of filing they need to take action to resolve the issue. Its been 4 years so they cannot take legal action against me. If the calls persist you can get a form letter to cease and decist and send it to them. If they continue, report them and they will be fined.
