I just got a call from this company, trying to scam me. I have no magazine subscriptions, and she refused to tell me how they got my contact info.

they called me to sell me magazines. they said they were out of florida. i just got a letter from them billing me for stuff i didn't order. $1,149.00 are they nuts!!!!!!

Ive been getting these calls too...Im afraid theyre going to charge me for stuff ive never bought as well or charge a credit card of mine.  What should I do to make sure they have no chance at either? And if I do recieve a bill for stuff I didnt buy...what happens? Do it I have to pay it?

they sent me the same letter saying they billed my account.  Which I cant find proof of...When I called them they wouldnt let me know if they had my billing info or not...my husbands account.  But needless to say I have not seen any magazines yet.

i have the same exact problem. they keep calling everyday from 8002591649 but i keep missing the call and today i answered and they hanged up

They called me today using the 18002591649 number and they asked for my boyfriend when i told them he wasn't here and asked if I could take a message they said no there's no message and then hung up on me... So i looked the number up on the net and found this... As far as I know this is the first time they tried calling my phone but They wont be calling it anymore because I have typed all of these numbers that I have found on this site into my phone and labeled them as scam from the looks of everyone's comments this wont be the last but it will be the last time I answer it.... I have no clue what site my boyfriend went to but apparently it was one of the sites that sells your number and name thank God he doesn't have a checking account.....

they called and did not accept my "no" for an answer. They said they would charge $19.16 to my account and they actually took$44.xx-SHADY SHADY!  not cool

they were calling saying they had a new office in florida, i was actually able to get a name or a fake one at that, alexander jean. i am really afraid that they are a scamming company and that they are going to make charges to my account that i havnt made. is this even legal if i had not signed up for anything and they just contact ppl out of the blue with this stuff?

relax, this is no joke, so i just got a phone call..some idiot new trainee called carlos working in some companys new office in florida, is calling me to ask how my suscription is going, if im getting all my magazines on time, an from the begening i followed the game i was like, oh sure man they are on time and great! and hes like ok, well now we'll make a charge of 4.xx a week, tell you what, we'll make a single payment of 19.xx a month hows that sound? and im like well it sounds great, he says good, let me tranfer you to my supervisor for a survey of my service, and then this dumb broad, is like well how did you like it? im like, he was ok, and se said, let me just confirm our records, give me your address and i gave the typical 555 n. south st. right, and then she proceds to "confirm" my credit card number to which i had no choise but to comply, i happily gave her my own batch of 16 random numbers starting with a four, like all visas do..and three security number from the back. and se says im sorry we dont have that credit card number is not coming up with your name,(its obvious she was using some king of credit card generator to verify if the card number is usable or not) se asked if i had any other card i said no, she asked for personal checks i said im sorry but i dont know how many numbers the checks have so i cant make those up for you honey!...she hung up :(..have a good one people and remember, two can play at that game.

This is all a bunch of bullsh*t!!. I totally got scammed about $100.00 at this point. Was supposed to receive all these magazines which I paid $80.00 at first to start. Never received any. Then spoke with lying representative over the phone from this number 800-259-1649, told me they needed an additional fee of $19.95 per month to send the magazines. The total amount being a 1 year cost of $574.80. And still have not received a single magazine! :( Absolutely going to  contact Better Business Bureau about this SCAM!:(

if u get a call from this # just  go to the BBB website and tpye in the # the address and business name comes up. there is a link below the address called file complaint.  have fun.  oh and dont forget to play the jokers game with them first its amazingly helpful.

when you had called me on the phone i did agree for your magazines but i did not agre to be billed for $1,149.60 .... i dont work and i go to shcool there is no way i can affored theses magazines ..since u have already dreafted the first months payment i will used it... but the next month i do not want it and i dont want it to be drafted from my acount.

This number calls me 1-3 times a day. When I answer no one is there and i can't call back. any way to stop it?

I got this call for magazine ,which at the time I thought was a good deal. I got a confrmation letter,come to find out the total for the magazine ends up to be 1200 dollars I called them back within the 10 days that it stated on the letter and cancelled. I have gotten calls everyweek practically ,sometimes 2 a week. I repeat that I have cancelled they say it shows that I have but it is a conveniance call. Well to make a long story short to day they say I've almost met myplan & payments have been paid on time & if I cancel now it will cost ME!!! 300 HUNDRES DOLLARS TO DO SO.!!! dO NOT SIGN UP THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF.I am contacting my lawyer & I am having this looked into!!!!p

Call about selling magazines

I would like to cancel my sub. I have been quote the wrong price

3 times today, 7/27/09. I answer my number with YES, instead of hello. At each call they hang up. They never speak. I am disabled and sleep due to my meds. Very irritating!!!

How bout they called me today (07/31/2009) and asked me to verify my address and everything like that. I did.. no big deal.. right? Then they asked me to verify my credit card number and I was like why do I have to do that if I already paid? Then they were like "oh well we need to verify that it is you" and i was like I don't feel comfortable giving out my credit card number over the phone and he was like "well if you are who you say you are then there is no prob". Then he told me hang up and go thru the customer service line to prove that they were legit, he gave me the extension 164 and i called about 10 times and no answer then he called me back asking to verify my card number. he gave me so many excuses den he hung up. I'm like as long as i had the subscription.. why are they calling me now?

I continue to receive calls from 800 259 1649 on my cell phone several times a day.  I usually do not answer any call from an 800 number, but in hopes of stopping the calls, I answered the phone with a terse introduction.  There was no response and no dial tone.
