they are a collection agency. they call me repeatedly asking for the person who had my phone number before me trying to collect on some bad debt. they think I am her, and I'm covering for her. It's annoying. I block the phone number but they call back from a different number.

A person by the name Maxim Gold called me about 6-7 times in a week. She did leave messages to an unknown person named Laura Estrada or Estrella. I was perplexed...I'm not this lady she is trying to reach. I decided to give her a call. I mentioned how I was not that lady and she was really rude to me. She said, "Well we have all your information...are you going to tell me that your social number is not yours?...and this number was given to us...this is an investigation..." I responded, "Mam, I am not the person you are looking for...ummm...what's that social you have?" (I was testing her) She gave me half of the social 8088...I could not believe it...that is a crime! "I am not that person so can you please stop calling me." Maxim was hard-headed, so I asked if I could speak to the CEO of the company she said that he does not take any calls like this....Ok...I asked if I could speak to her boss...she refused...so I said where can I complain about you is there any number or website...she said google it...and complain there. She also mentioned to call my phone service. I did call my phone service and my phone service suggested calling the cops. After writing this, I will call the cops. I'm pretty sure that many people out there have been trying to do something about these callers that harass others so I think I am going to take this to a new level. Wish me luck.

The advise I received from the Attorney General's office in my state was this:  

Send a letter requesting in writing that the company cease and desist any further phone calls to your phone number at (___) ___-____ as is your right under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.  State your name, address and phone number in the letter.  Send the letter to the company by certified mail with a return receipt requested so you will have a record to use in court if necessary.

If the calls continue, you can sue the company for $1,000 per violation (an amount that can be filed in Small Claims Court without an attorney involved).  You will need proof of the continuing calls in court.

This number has been calling my cell number several times a day I never amswer because I am on the do not call list. This person called my parents house looking for me and my mother told them I no longer lived there and she doesnt speak to me anymore. This is a rude company.

These people are what I call bottom feeders.  They are trying to collect on debts that are past the statute of limitations and using threatening methods to try to coerce people into repaying these ancient debts.  They are very rude and do not cease to call.

I called them back and they asked for my husband and would not tell me what it was reguarding.

This person  keeps calling me for no reason and he has a wrong number at that.  He does want to give out any information,is very sarcastic in a mean way and is disrespectful.

Thank you all for posting the info. I also was getting phone calls to my cell several times a day and once in a while they would leave a message that I would only get half of telling me to call back with some refrence number. Which thanks to all of you I will not be returning any of their phone calls!!

I dont know who this is but they keep calling my cell phone. I wish they would stop calling, I never rarely have my phone on. Get a life.

Okay I called and the man on the phone got smart with me so I hanged up on him. do anyone know how we can get them to stopp calling my cell phone. these people are nasty. And they have nast attitudes.

I got a pre-paid phone from T-mobile for emergencies only.  Now I'm getting calls from this number which is burning up my minutes. This sucks.

It's an 800 number.  Call them back dozens of times and make them pay for it.  It also ties up their phone system.  If we all do it they'll go crazy.

I am a permanently disabled Iraq War vet.  I explained that I would pay the debt if I could, even though I legally am not required to do so, because it is long past the statute of limitations. I sent a letter to cease and desist.  The calls stopped for awhile, lately started again with another employee of theirs.

This number calls and keeps on callng throughout the day.
It gets very old.
I would sure not want to bother with these people.

Automated voice left a message for "Glee Glee" (seriously, it was either that or they were calling for "Three Three".  Left company name of Credit Control, phone number of 800.287.3130 and an account 3754141 to reference.  I'm not calling back to verify their mistake.  I've had this land-line phone number since May 2002.

Person by the name of Tim refused to give me Co. Address.  I will turn it over to the Tx Att Gen.
