Wells Fargo Dealer Services - Employee? Really?

First off my sister works for WF, upper management financial services and you are not a Wells Fargo Employee (period). They don't call their customers requesting the information you're saying.

Secondly, I just received a call from 800-289-8004 and it's a "spoofed' caller ID. I don't bank with WF, I don't finance vehicles - I pay cash and I'm not currently shopping either yet just got one of these calls on our business line.

My guess is these are the same scam artists that tried selling fake extended car warranties a while back.

stop calling----- yalll.. you can be rude all you want yall, we have resources at our disposal, yall. and just to put the perspective where it needs to be, yall, wells fargo sucks dick, and most of the employees suck as well, yall. had you bothered to learn to read, yall, you would have noticed that most of the people have stated and i will quote this just so your little mind can maybe pick up on it, yall,  "when i answer they immediately hang up" doesnt sound like a courtesy call to me, yall.. oh, and by the way idiot, the yall is for your edumacation, yall...

I get calls from this number.   I consider this a scam.

Received call from 800-289-8004 on 3/31/2015 on my cell phone for which only 4 people have the number. I've had no dealings with Wachovia for 8 or more years, or Wells Fargo for over 25 years. My custom out-going message (due to the difficulty of recovering an incoming msg on my cheap "Fone") is, "Please do not leave me a message at this number. Call my home phone to leave any messages." I didn't get a message at home, either.
My cell is only 4 months old with a NEW number, so something seems a bit fishy. It is illegal for solicitors to call any cell phone unless you've called that business or have given someone your cell number (other than "Alert" texts)!

I have been receiving a call from this number for the last week.  No one ever answers when I answer.  Usually the phone rings 3 or 4 times and they hang up.  If this is Wachovia calling, as some have indicated below, I am clueless why they would be calling me, since I just bought a vehicle through a different finance company.

I just bought a new car as well. When they called I answered and they hung up. I put them on block so I won't hear from this number again. :)

They constantly call me and my girlfriend. Yes we bought cars but not through them. They also never leave messages which is definitely not professional

Same situation with all the calls.  I did just get an auto loan.  What's the problem with them leaving a message and just telling us who they are and what they want?

This number has called me six times in three days and I don't know who it is.

They keep on calling me I DO NOT ANSWER!!

For the past week or so, my cell phone has rung several times a day from this number.  No response when I answer;  no message left when I cannot answer.  Can you stop this repeated nuisance call?  I hope so, and thank you.

08/31/2016: I received a call from 800-289-8004; it was Well Fargo Dealer Services. The car dealer that I bought my car from told me they would call and what questions they would ask. They basically wanted to confirm that I was the person who purchased the car from the dealership, the last four digits of my social, my mailing address, home and work phone number. They were very nice and polite.  They are making these calls because there is too much fraud going on with car loans.

I just got a call from 18002898004  on my cell phone and they asked for a Gary Kreutsberg, I told them he was my husband and she proceded to say we were late on truck payment, Which by the way is taken care of at wells fargo bank its self so thought this could be a scam, Reporting right now to wells fargo  fraud department as I am typing this

These people keep calling but all I get is a fax beep each time.  They call at least 10 times a day.

Have receiver calls from this number up to three times a day.   Never leaves a message
