Voice mail from Jack Bradley DISCOVER Card to call 800-347-3072 at Delaware.

Got a voice message from Jack Bradley to call 800-347-3072 regarding application for DISCOVER Card. The caller ID is 866-440-3901 saying from Delaware. I did not call back because I never applied the DISCOVER card. I filed the complaint with Do Bot Call registry. I suspected the fraud after reading the reports ref. 800-347-3072. Thx U all for sharing. This severe scam fraud. We should be careful & again thx for sharing. Any suggestions for preventing & action to take?

That is the number for Discover Card's fraud department.  It is legitimate.  Call 1-800 Discover and ask to get transferred to the application fraud department if you're unsure.

This is a Discover number. I applied for a Discover IT card and received a call asking me to call this number. When I called they only asked to verify DOB and address. They did not ask for SSN, and I would not have given it to them anyway. If you didn't apply and they called you, then it probably means someone is trying to open a card in your name.

Obviously, there is nothing you can do to stop them. Until now, I did talk to them asked to remove my name out of their calling list. I just told them I don't believe your crab. hang up.  They left couple messages on my phone with same information above. Hope Discover credit card can do something about it.

I called the main Discover line instead (the number is on the back of the Discover card - 800-347-2683
ALWAYS call that number instead of the number they give you on the phone). Discover has no record of calling me and doesn't recognize the ...3072 number.

I have NOT applied for a card or submitted any correspondence, so this was just a phising attempt. Don't fall for it.

This is Discover's phone number. I filled out an application online and they gave me this number to follow up regarding my application, which I did and it was legit. Just checked the Discover site and I was indeed approved for what the rep from this number told me. Not a scam.

this is Discover's fraud department for applications. It is legit. If they call you and you didn't apply that's the reason for the call.

it is legit. they called because they received an application in your name. with the efx breach your information was most likely compromised

this is really discover. they called me and said the same thing and someone attempted to open an account in my name. I'm glad discover actually calls to make sure instead of just approving all application like capital one

I applied online for a discover card, I was called 3 times by this number.  They left messages informing me that I needed to call them to finish my application.   I was a lil skeptical but I called them back.  They asked for my name, D.O.B and address.  They sent a code to my phone and asked me to verify the code sent.  After that they put me on hold for a few minutes.  They told me I was approved for a large amount and I would recieve my card in 7-14 days.   Honestly,  the amount is what made me feel like it might be a scam, so I looked up the number and it brought me to this site.  I became even more nervous, so I literally checked my credit everyday to make sure no one was running my credit ect.  After a few days, I received an email from discover with the amount  and said I will receive my card in 3-5 days.  I called discover as well and they have verified the info as well and told me that the number is theirs.  I hope this helps anyone that is having doubt.  I will write back when I receive my card to confirm and verify.

Received a voicemail from 800-347-0350, requesting that i call 800-347-3072, and this interaction proceeded the same as all the other reports shown here. Do not share any info with these imposters. They attempt to sound professional and helpful to convince you to give your info, but it's a scam.

VALID NUMBER for DISCOVER CARD SERVICES. I contacted Experian and confirmed this is a valid contact from Discover. Despite the fact that they apparently don't know how to request personally identifiable info, it's actually them, and they're trying to assist you with a valid issue. I suggest you contact Experian or another agency/organization with which you're familiar to confirm this before you dismiss this valuable contact.

This is a valid number from Discover in their fraudulent alert department.  I received the letter with the number on it.  Spoke to them, and then realized it might have been a scam.  So next I called the number on my discover card which was slightly different and the gentleman confirmed it was in fact a Discover number.

I applied for a discover card and they wanted to verify it was me just asked me to verify my information on my online application and sent me a text code for security purposes.  No fraud.

This is a scam. I never give personal information over the phone unless I initiate the call after verifying that it is a legit number.

There are a few guys and a girl that will keep calling numerous times a day and they have will try and get personal info, ss number, card numbers, exp date, and three digits from the back of your cards
