SO ANGRY. they call 3+ times a day, on my cell phone (which is paid by the minute).
Spammed their careers page as well!

Called the number back and pressed one for english, pressed one to have my number removed. They read the correct number back and we will see what happens. It is gemmacommunications as stated above. They probably have tons of clients so I am sure at some point everyone will get a call(s) at one point or another.

This number calls me every night. When I answer the phone, it goes silent and disconnects!

I'm afraid to say I work for a similar company. If the call doesnt connect or goes to an answering machine, then it is put back into the system and just gets called again when it comes up. By ignoring/not answering you're just going to keep getting calls.
The best thing to do is just pick up the phone, interupt the person and say "put me on your DO NOT CALL LIST" by law, they have to. They'll read you a script and the calls will stop. If they dont you can press charges.

I followed the directions that "Give up already!!" mentioned and it worked like a charm.  I was getting 2-3 calls a day.

Simply call the number back and go through the automated process to get your number removed.

you're right, they tried to sell me the same thing. I told them to stop calling because I'm not interested but they still kept calling.

If its a cell phone you can add the number to a contact and block the contact. I have a "Spam" contact with about 7 different numbers on it

Another call from CIBC or their telemarketer today.  They still haven't stopped.   I wonder how many people will leave CIBC because of the phone harassment  ?

Ask for my father. I asked which company they were with, the lady on the phone said she could not relate that information. Called the number back after i hung up with phone with her because my father is on vacation. Msg that followed was for CIBC Life. it asked if i wanted to be removed from the list, said it could take up to 14 business days. but then it took me to another line to leave a msg... so i dont know if they will actually remove me from their list or not.

Im getting calls from this number every day three times a day at least for over a week now

I`ve got three phone calls from this number, so far. First time, didn`t answer. Second, I picked up, said "Hello!", no answer. Somebody, at the other end, hung up. Third time, a few minutes ago, a lady, who pretended to call on behalf of CIBC, told me that I qualify for a $1000 insurance which doesn`t cost me anything; also, CIBC offers AD&D insurance and that she would have to add an insurance licensed agent on the line, in order to proceed with the application for the insurance; to do that though, she needed my date of birth, address, postal code etc. In all this time, I listened to her because I really wanted to see how far she goes and when she`s going to ask me for some personal info or my Visa card number......She didn`t care a minute to ask if I need insurance or not......I told her she can`t have any of the info she wants and to forget my number. Then, in a hurry, she said: "Here`s CIBC. Thank you!" and hung up.

He answered and wanted to speak with someone named Greg (I didn't catch the last name).
