- gizellathey call 5 to 10 times a day . i like to know how they got my phone number. it's private
- Caller: 8003959155
- Tenkai LuongMultiple calls to a busy phone line everyday. No answer each time. Awful nuisance. Called back and get an automated message stating that they are from CIBC Life. Message format credibility zero.
- AnonymFound out SHOCKING piece-of news today; dunno about validity, but suggest that might be true. Smaller communities (SW-Ont, included) are being preyed-upon by people who have access-to community rubbish-collection not-enforced or supervised by municipalities.
Thought it was BS, until I heard family-friend saw some [***] open a black-rubbish-bag (near condo dev. around Guelph AND Chatham, ON) sifting through un-shredded documents, taking some, & shoving rest back into bags!
Am absolutely God-Smacked to hear this from longtime family/friend (no one under any Gestapo Investigation, BTW.... lol)! This is the amount-of effort put-in by fraudsters looking to, "make a score" off of people who are elderly, disabled, working, &/or vulnerable-to influence (they're the easiest)... Sickening ☹️
To ALL people on here; CAN, our US/UK Cousins, & honest decent people anywhere-&-everywhere.... find a way to DESTROY your documents! Shredding is good, but burning them is the best way!
Alternatives include shredding & dumping into non-potable water filled with soap &/or bleach solution (do it ALL OUTSIDE please No deaths on my conscience, thanks much! ☺️☺️☺️), personally, I've taken to shredding, & chucking sensitive rubbish into old salvages metal/tin rubbish-bin (or 55US.Gal drum, if you have) & burning the shreds to ashes.
The ways these parasites can "acquire" your data is truly astonishing! Paying for security companies, cyber-tracking, keeping-an eye on your ID, shopping at reputable-vendors (etc, et-deters.... et repetition, et-ad-nauseum....) sadly, isn't enough in today's world.
If they were any more creative & better in what they do, they'd all pass their; Barrister Legal-Exams, Politician's (background), & the Canadian-RCMP's
(so-called) "Law-Exams & Enforcement/Policing Degrees & Oaths" with flying colours.... (likely with their eyes closed, & not bothering to show-up & take the exams..... obviously).
The world has changed from the (unholy) trinity-of crooks, theives, & receivers we (always) knew were there...
(1.) Barristers/Lawyers, ( 2.) Politicians (all of them!) & (Lastly) Any-&-ALL Law-Enforcement.
Pardon my ranting here (hope it made you chuckle-&-smell, even a little) but it is all done with very best-of intentions...
Highlighting (fact); "we" as people are the only ones who can help us, by helping ourselves.
Highlighting-the (fiction); Legal / Police / Gov't does NOT CARE about our safety/well-being. They never have, nor ever will! Unless it makes CBC/BBC/Local Evening/Primetime News, & gives them a moral/legal,
"bloody-nose", accusations-of "neglect, imcompetance, & dereliction-of-duty"
(trademark "M.O.", I'm afraid), no amount-of complaining, consultation, or even whistleblowers will force them into anything other than a token-responce, & that's only for media/public-relations' sake.
If all my verbatim (or electronic-direhrrea, if you prefer) has any message, it's this... the family/friend who saw people sifting through rubbish at 2:30am outside a retirement-community found-out later that an elderly-man living there (widower, 79years-old, 20year Mil.Vet, & former Commissionaire) had all personal info stolen; credit-card maxed-to $20,000, cleaned out all savings (unconfirmed amt.) could no-longer keep driving car, & is now virtually bankrupt.
A very-sad end, to an even more heart-breaking reality-of today's world. All here, please BEWARE! Bon Chance, & God-Speed to everyone.- Call type: Event reminder
- LisaThey phone 3-4 times each day, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. If it’s so terribly important and they really need to speak to me personally, send me a letter. You must know my address.
- Anna EWe stopped answering our phone to unknown numbers and let our answering machine handle them. This number shows up in the list a few times a day and leaves no message so we think it's either an automated machine or someone completely bereft of intelligence.
- Caller: 800-395-9122
- AnnonymousThis is CIBC trying to sell insurance, if you call the number back, they have an option to remove your phone number from their list - all i did was stay on the line, and it promted me to press 1 to remove my number.
