Calls a couple times a day everyday, I don't answer "unknown" scammers.

And again the scammers call, silence/ignore/reject, every time!

So heads up, this is a Wells Fargo CREDIT alert. It is from Wells Fargo and is used to alert users of possible fraudulent purchases. The reason I emphasize credit is because of you call the number on the back of your debit card they will have no record of the call or the number as these called are handled by the credit department at Wells Fargo. Just ensure you call the number on the back of your credit card and you can clear it up through them however.

Received a voicemail from this number saying it was wells fargo and that there was a charge on my credit card. I went to my online wellsfargo and noticed there was a message saying my credit card was being restricted. I called customer service at wellsfargo and they told me there was a $568 transaction on my card that came from Netherlands that was denied. I've never been to Europe so I obviously told them it wasn't me and they advised me that they were going to cancel the card and send me a new one.

I almost never answer 800 numbers.  I was on my laptop and used search engine for 800-446-0664, and saw in results some people claiming it is or might be Wells Fargo Fraud.  Since I have a W/F card, called number back, went through automated process to identify last purchase was NOT a purchase of mine, and a fraud customer representative for Wells Fargo came on line.  Only had to provide zip code, verify address, and turns out $4670.65 in 3 purchases were fraudulent. Three additional charges were denied before even charged.  Glad I called back.  I believe it saved additional time and charges to account.  Account was closed immediately.  I asked why it didn't say on the LED display it was the Wells Fargo Fraud Department.  The person said that was the whole purpose it wasn't listed.  Didn't understand that response.

800-446-0664  This is the Wells Fargo Fraud Department Customer Service Number.  I received a call from this number on my cell phone today, and hung up on the automated message saying they were from Wells Fargo and wanting me to verify my identity and ZIP code.  I opened my Wells Fargo app on my cell phone and saw that activity associated with my credit card was "temporarily suspended."  I called the WF number on the back of my credit card and was transferred to the Fraud Department who verified that 800-446-0664 is an active WF phone number in use.  There was a fraudulent online use of my credit card, and my card is being re-issued.

How can people say this is a legit number? I don't even have a Wells Fargo credit card!!!

I called and they told me the same thing today. Wells Fargo claims this is NOT one of their numbers.

Ask yourself why someone, after finding a number to be legitimate, would go to various websites and "report" it as such? Who feels the need to report a number as safe? I seriously doubt these claims, as I just received a call from this number reporting that there had been suspicious activity on my Wells Fargo card. They had all my info, just needed some verification. One problem... I don't have a Wells Fargo card and I never have. SCAM!

If you get a call from these guys, be happy. WF Fraud detection. They are awesome.

most people here say it is a legitimate fraud line from Wells Fargo...however...I don't have a Wells Fargo Card so why are they calling me? My guess is...a spoofed call...phishing. NEVER ANSWER AN 800 NUMBER YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE AND IF THEY LEAVE A MSG SAYING WHO THEY ARE, CALL THAT PLACE DIRECTLY TO VERIFY...NOT THE 800 NUMBER YOU GET FROM THIS CALLER

is it a legitimate or fraudulent number? My Wells Fargo credit card was temporarily suspended. I've received fraud protection calls from Wells Fargo before that sound like what some reviewers have described: talked to a rep that went through recent attempted transactions, some I recognized, some I didn't, and they would have to know your card or account number in order to look that up. A fraudster wouldn't have that transaction summary. However, when I login to Wells Fargo, my Account Summary page shows me an alert and to call a different number: 1-866-229-6633. So, I'm not going to try to call 800-466-0664, maybe that is fraudulent and they're trying to get my card number like some reviewers said. In any case, if wellsfargo.com gave me a different number to call, I see no reason to call this one, not gonna waste time calling them trying to find out.

SCAM saying they were from WELLS FARGO BANK. and I didn't fall for it

Definitely Fraud. I just called WF and they confirmed it is not one of their numbers. 9/29/16

That's Wells fargo number. If you got that number, just call them to verify your card activity

I got the call but did not answer the phone. They called back 5 minutes later. I did not answer.

This number called my cell, I did not answer.
I looked up the number on the internet,,,I do not have a Wells Fargo CC or any kind of account with that bank.

3 calls in 2  hrs. First time left a message for someone whose name I did not know about Wells Fargo being compromised and told to call them back. Have never had a Wells Fargo card. Next 2 calls were hang ups when ans machine kicked in.

It may be a legitimate fraud # for Wells Fargo but I have never had......and don't intend to have a credit card with them nor do any type of banking with them . They call numerous times of day....just got 2 calls from them now at 9 pm on a Saturday night. I have had enough!

It is fraud, they called me and I do not even own a Wells Fargo  credit card. Do not give any information. If in doubt call the back of the number on your credit card.
