been getting mutiple calls from them for a heather birdsong. This is a business so they were clearly wrong. The gentleman i talked to when i called them was actually very nice (odd i know). they took the number off the list supposedly. I'll give it a couple days and see.

This number is calling me day and night. They bypass my answering service and somehow it rings about 20x when my rings are set to 4. I answered it once, WOW are they rude. Bigtime intimidation tactics. They are calling about some bill an ex owes from several years ago. Im sure its way past being written off, but not my problem. They are even calling distant relatives.

The reason you got transferred to a Supervisor and got a voicemail is because the Supervisor wasn't available. It happens. Just leave a message and the Supervisor will take care of it.

Here are a couple things that I'm noticing that I want to make clear:
    They are a collection agency.
#1: collectors are allowed to contact 3rd parties and ask for information. If the # that they're calling is in the system, it will continue to be called unless they're told that the debtor doesn't live there. However, if the debtor DOES live there and they have contacted the person there before, they will know you're lying.

#2: Collectors cannot tell any 3rd parties what the call is about except "personal business matter" because of privacy laws. The only way a debt collector can say anything about the bill with a 3rd party is if they get authorization from the debtor the agency is trying to contact. Unless it is a spouse. However, in some states, collectors are not allowed to talk to the spouse.

#3: Collectors don't know it's a wrong # that they're calling unless you actually pick up the phone and tell them it's a wrong # or you call and inform them.

#4: They are allowed to call cell phones. That is a common misconception.

#5: Verbal cease and desist will not work unless you live in WI. Letters will need to be written to the company.

#6: Collection letters from this specific company do not have a logo of any kind on the envelope. It is plain and looks like junk mail. If the address is correct and you have not gotten a letter and DASI has tried to contact you for over a month, it's a load unless the mailman screwed up. That chance is slight.

#7: If you threaten a debt collector with violence or means to harm, believe it or not, they can press charges. It has happened before and the debtor was arrested.

#8: They are allowed to ask about monetary funds available because they do (believe it or not) try to work with you to overcome the debt.

#9: If you have a dispute over the account that you owe, give specific details. The creditor will note almost everything you say and more often than not, will be investigated to give further details to the debtor as to why they owe.

#10: The calls cannot be legally made before 8am and 9pm local time. The phones will not work before 8 and after 9. Just because your clock says 7:55am doesn't mean anything. The dialers are on satellite time.

#11: Please remember that even though the debt collector is on the phone, they are people with feelings too that are doing a job like everyone else to put food on the table. Some people didn't want to take the job but do it anyway because it's the only decent one they could get. The debtors are very rude themselves. Imagine that you get yelled at and cussed at for 12 hours a day, 3 days in a row. You yourself would be a bit cross. Before you say something vulgar, just hang up the phone. It's not worth yours or their time.

I received a automated call from Progressive Financial, since i have been learning how to sue them myself by listening to:

    whatliesinyourdebt.com or knockoutcollectors.com.

You will learn how to do it yourself and keep the money in your pocket.
Cha-Ching!!!  Every call and every letter is now a $1000 violation of FDCPA laws and money for you instead of from you.

They don't call 4x a day. You're full of [***]. Why don't you just report it if you're that pissed instead of sitting on your ass whining about it? You want something done? Do it your [***] self and quit being a baby by trolling everyone about your problems. At least Mogaki can say that she HAS a job.

This is a collection agency for Sprint.  I just got off the phone with them...they have been calling me for a year now, with different stories and I've told them numerous times that my ex-husband has moved out of the state but they refuse to stop calling my home number not to mention that when I ask for a supervisor I get a voice mail.  I've got to the FTC and filed a complaint.

They called me collecting on a Sprint cell phone bill.  They were not rude. And are suppose to be sending me something in the mail.  I did not pay them anything over the phone. I'm going to double check with Sprint before sending them any kind of payment.

what you need to do is file a complaint with the FTC re: FCDPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  I believe you can file a complaint right online at FTC.gov  - They can't call you again if you tell them not to, they can't call relatives and discuss your collection issue, they can't threaten you, they can't call you back if you tell them they have the wrong number, they can't call you at work if you tell them that you can't receive personal phone calls.

They called -- stated that were collecting for a Sprint who sent the outstanding balance to Diversified.    They sent it to Collections without Sprint every sending a hard copy bill to our home -- with Sprint saying they emailed the bill to us -- since we opted for paperless service.    I would think if Sprint had some Business Sense -- they would have tried to have sent at least one hard copy bill -- but did not.    The bill is for two cell phone lines and one contract my husband signed -- with us disagreeing on what constitutes two contracts.   We felt since we shared 500 minutes between us -- it  should be considered one contract.

Anyway, Diversified called -- we verbally worked out a negotiation settlement of $175.00.    He wanted my banking information right then and there and I told him I wanted a paper discussing what our settlement should be.   He replies "You Fax a Letter discussing the Settlement" and I took the fax number -- typed a quick letter -- and then tried to fax it.    It was a bogus fax phone number that would never answer.    So, I went online and got their email address and emailed them -- no response whatsoever from them.    So, I called to ask for the person who I talked to named "James" and the woman who answered says "Well, we do not have extensions" -- but I will email him for you.

I have never heard from them and I believe they will be the last I would.   They seem shady to me too.

If you are a Sprint customer you can log into your account and add the number to the Blocked Voice list. My Preferences tab-> scroll to bottom of page-> click on block voice. Click on the area which includes your name, phone and device. Scroll down and click on "Block only the following phone numbers for inbound and outbound calls". Enter and then add phone number. Save and problem solved. I'm sure the rest of wireless companies have to have the same type of service.

They just called my father-in-law today regarding an old Sprint bill that, while it had gone to collections (with a different company) last year, the balance was paid in full to the first collection agency well over six months ago (I have the letter from them confirming that). This new collection agency is claiming that there was an unpaid balance of $17.50 with the previous collection agency so Sprint turned it over to them and because it wasn't paid, there is now a $250 penalty as well. They claim to have been sending letters regarding this for the past few months, however when asked what address they were sending them to, they provided one that is more than five years old; the agent asked for the current address, however my FIL told them that if they legitimately owned the debt, they would have that information and refused to provide it (good for him!) As far as I'm concerned, they are running a scam and if they think I'm going to give them a dime just because they say so, they've got a big fight ahead of them, especially since I am well aware of my rights as they pertain to debt collection.

Diversified Collection called. Recording. Two days in a row. Debt collection agencies are supposed to identify whom they are wanting to speak with and leave a message. Hit or miss dialing is ridiculous. Identify me as your debtor and you might get a phone call return. If not please Stop calling!

These idiots have called my son and DIL hundreds of times despite telling them the person they want does not have this number anymore. I even called and asked to have the number removed from their data base

They are still calling at all hours of the day and night.

My DIL is on bed rest with triplets and had to turn off the volume of the phone because they will not stop calling

To Mogaki, you are a piece of $h-t.
