    Good questions.  It seems whenever a debt collector calls, people assume it's a scam.  Call back gets, "Thank you for calling Hollis Cob Associates.  This call may be recorded."  Goes on to give options depending on the purpose of the call.  According to their website, they are a medical debt collections agency.  Doesn't sound like a scam organization since it's been in business since 1977 and it's website was established in 2002.  Of course, numbers can be spoofed and even legitimate agencies can make mistakes.  Following the advice of the CFPB when debt collectors call will help protect consumers from fraud:

    In addition, it would be wise to use the published number or website when communicating .
