They called again today at 930 at night. If this is stats can and our tax payers dollars are going to this crap I can't beleive it. They were told to never call back and to stop harassing my home. It looks like its not going to stop. So the question is how can we stop this?

You can't. Perhaps pick up the telephone to see what they are requesting instead of just letting the phone ring. Ignorance is bliss.

These people are relentless and will call at all hours of the day.  I don't give personal info out over the phone.  I told the caller to scan there photo id and text to me.  Once I verify with Stats Can that they are indeed legitimate then they can call back at my convenience.

These people calling are from Winnipeg, and it is Statistics Canada - asking all kinds of questions for statistics.  

Received a voice mail from this company.  Claiming to be Stats Canada.  Asking to return call and reference a file number.  Without calling back, I can almost 100% guarantee that it is NOT Stats Canada, but a collection agency or fraud.  The reason is because of the name of the person that they said they were calling for.  This person is a relative of ours, has never lived at our address, has never shared our phone number.  However, our number is listed, and a few years back when he was having credit problems, creditors were calling our number asking for him.

Calling my cell phone and comes up as a U.S. number saying they are from Statistics Canada. Why are they calling my cell phone.

When they called me they wanted to know who and how many were living in my home. They're names ages and sex. Would they have these answers already?

No, due to privacy issues government departments can't transfer information from department to department in many cases.

Many surveys are addressed based as well and due to the fact that people move in and out of a particular residence, up to date information is required.

CRAZY. If it's a Canadian Statistics company, whybdo they have my California based cell number and why do they need my info? They shouldn't and don't.

Thus is a collection agency called CBV using underhanded tactics to get your attention.

Keeps calling me.  4 times already.

Stupid idiots keep calling 3 times a day even after 8 in the evening. Told them not interested and they had the audacity of calling me back right away.

So they called me again and when I yelled at them to stop calling and hung up, they called again. They then called until I picked up. A sinister sounding woman threatened me that they will not stop because this is a legal process.

It is NOT stats Canada. It is a scam to get you personal information.

Even though they claim to be from Stats Can, they are in fact a scam. Statistics Canada does not collect data this way.

This would defiantly be a scam.  But do not wast your time reporting it to the RCMP or local Police. I have tried a few time to reports scams to them.  They are only interested AFTER you have lost money.  No wonder so many phishing scams proliferate.

I said I would call them back when I was finished with final exams, as I did not know who they really were.  They gave me the information, then continued calling me. This is harassment, and when I did speak with them, they were very rude and hung up on me.  They have called me in the early morning hours and late hours on Sunday nights. This has only been a week and their have been about 15 calls. They began using a "private" number to get a hold of me.  This is commissioned by our CANADIAN gov't????  I am so disappointed in this behavior.

This is a telephone scam. Stats Canada does not call people.

received 2 letters  claiming it was stats canada -didnt have my name on it only my mailing address and said you have to call them or go on line to do survey  about community and donation etc. Funny thing is about it is -it stated if youi are 15 yrs only and are the only one in ur household  you need to answer this. how can a 15yr live by them self o, own a house etc. a 15 yr old cant live by the self ,too funny. then in next sentence it state if you are 15 yrs old or older  then both of you have to do this survey. the hours  to call them were 930am-930pm -which is odd for government as government jobs are 8am-4-420pm or 9am -5pm . no weekends.
tonight march13 2018. left a message -called 930pm when checked time stamp of message left. My number is restricted ,never ever seen light of day never been published and like you only family have it for emergency or very specific people. I tooam ticked opff ,how the hell did they get this. hum... i dont get telemarketing calls so this is very fishy.  i riped up letters and deleted call. have in my city/province they are quite a few scams gonig around. If this was real it would be in the paper/on the radio /news if stats canada was really doing this survey.. The call came up as an unkonwn name -fishy for stats can? and 204 -983-2773 . -this isnt a local area code and is not in my province,dont know the number. the 800-665-3393 is number they left to call them back  and hrs at 930am-930pm telemarketers arent allowed to call after 8pm. this is really fishy.. and heard background noise of people talking/ laughing. ..
