- Jeff| 1 replyYeah it's HBC, I called it back and tore a strip off the girl that answered, probably a waste of breath and time on my part, but it made me feel a lil' better :)
It's an auto dialer that they use, crappy part is that when we answer, nobody talks on the other side, I guess it baits you into returning the call ... more money save on their part. We usually get at least a half dozen calls a day which is basically harrassment if you ask me. We have an account with them and everything is auto paid on time ... well a few days early actually. I think a mass complaint to the better business bureau might do something.
Another thing that pisses me off is that my wife is often home along with our 2 year old daughter while I'm away with work (thank you Canadian Forces), and it scares her because her ex boyfriend was pretty abusive and controlling while they dated and reduced himself to harrassing her over the phone ... so on the home front this is driving us nuts.- Caller: HBC Credit
- Small rockGot call today, Caller-id name: Unknown; Number: 800-667-4363. Have my phone setup with two ring tones; if it's not in my contact list it will ring differently. All calls from #s not in the contact list I let pass to voice mail, there they can leave any msg they want. Then I decide to call back or not.

- jacob| 6 repliesI seriously don't know why people complain, when a Credit Card company calls you several times to collect. obviously they have to call more than once to collect payments that are overdue, and its the customers fault they are overdue. If you can't handle a creditcard, don't sign up for one, lol Put yourself in the place of the collector, just doing your job. obviously they don't leave messages due to the fact that people with outstanding payments would not likely phone back there collector, Sorry if my opinion is in the different direction. but I can see 2 sides to the situation

- HBC collector| 12 repliesI'd like to thank Jacob for being so honnest and understanding.
People, we are just doing our job.
If you pay your bills on time, we have no reason to call you. And you know what's funny? Most of the people we call are CLUELESS that they have an HBC card until we REMIND THEM. And by then, their credit is affected because they are 4 months late due to the fact they keep insulting us and hanging up on us.
Did you know? All it takes is for you to answer the phone ONCE and an HBC agent will gladly tell you about the status of your account and the reason of the call, and then, the calls STOP. its like magic! If the call isn't for you, then we're not allowed by LAW to discuss the reason of the call, it has to remain CONFIDENTIAL between the compagnie and the client. Can you imagine if we called and told your mother about how late your card is? Yeah, that sounds great.
YES we call at 8 am. THATS RIGHT. And you know why? Because most of the time a) its the best time to reach people, and b) because we wake up at 6am to get to work, trust us, we don't mind calling you. And yes, its LEGAL. Oh its also legal for us to call until 9pm.
And the amount of times we are allowed to call you during the day, if you DON'T pick up your phone? 7. Thats right 7 times!
If you have any questions regarding your hbc credit card please contact us at 1-800-667-4363
Thank you have a good day.- Caller: HBC COLLECTION

- To the HBC collectorHey HBC collector, the problem that people here have is not with you so don't take it so personally. What myself and most people have a problem with is that your auto dialer (which you they are using unlawfully) hangs up on you when ever you answer.
- J SlobodnikI get phone calls everyday. I don't answer them and they don't leave messages.
How to stop these calls? - Don Breet And| 1 replyYES I had gotten this after my mom recvied a spam email not hours later this phone calls I *ed it and as usual found out it is useless as is everything like this Can we not stop this com on if this is how they or those ppl make money can they not find someother way better then to bug the [***] outta of their non customers and who they don't pay enough attention to is their customers? I have a spammed email and I am keeping it till the F'er is going down anymore Spam to Me and I'm sure they or who ever kind find me if they try hard enough like one already did I wil be lets just say in there virtual face and dumping the WWW! ALL OVER THEIR EXTREMELY MISFURTUNATE butt.. :) have a nice day or life SPAMMERS
- Caller: HBC I figure as stated above :P
- Breet AGAINWhat if its not with their auto dialer What if it is with or connection many use DSL and other over he phone lines to connectivity to internet what if its the net calling out. Like say you visit a knowen site that spamms rather is looking to get info off of or contact of and then the person would leave somesort of data behind and this site with bot or auto behavour picks that up countinued visits means more data leave only some holes so then it grabs enough to make out an e-mail then moves from one email to another from the contat list thus spamming trying to find others to extort and gaining access to them. Cookies is one of the biggest mistakes you can leave on. One should TURN THEM to overrie and block both thrid party cookies and First Party cookies yes you heard me it works and I have had no such maleware or spyware what so ever I have check contiuously and always truns up nothing. I use these setting is IE of course seeing how FIRFOx is to beyond thi to even be considerd a threat. No need to change much but disallow thrid paty cookies in firefox all together.

- severly annoyed************~ PLEASE READ IF YOU DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT AND ARE GETTING CALLS~**************
#1. I do not have any accounts or anything to do with the HBC
#2. my phone # was removed for 1 month because I phones them and told them it was a wrong #
I Had to phone the company several times (5 times) in January to get my cell # removed becasue it was a wrong phone #
It was removed for the month of february
Now March 1st 8 AM they have started phoneing me again
F***
I call them and the person can't remove it again
so basically i am going to have to phone again several times before they remove my number again, I can't be doing this every month, they know its a wrong # and I want the calls to stop!!
What can I do about it? I am going to sk at the BBB
I think everyone getting these calls should complain about it to the supervisors becasue nobody does anything even when they are aware that the # is a miss dial and have removed your phone # the previous month
Please help me complain about this so this can stop for everyone in a situation like mine, thank you- Caller: HBc credit services
- IMANThey keep calling me
So I sent them a message:
....Starting February the 27th, 2010 your representatives have been calling my line twice a day it usually goes from 8 AM all the way to 9 PM!!! This is a form of harassment and if this persists you will lose potential customers. I have another card and they never ever ever everrrrsss me like this. What kind of company is this? Do you expect collecting money like this? In such a rude, annoying harassing way? How about you learn how to treat your customers right first. Because I am guessing you did not train your representatives well due to their lack of customer service. The only reason why I have good credit with my other credit line is because they do not spam me with such disgusting and unnecessary calls. If this persists I guarantee you will lose money, your debts will not be collected and you will lose a customer.
Learn how to do your job right debt collectors.
Sincerely,
One angry person- Caller: HBC

- IMANTo the HBC collector,
You say that once we answer you will leave us alone? Well that is not the case. I have answered one too many times and yet you keep calling? You say you want us to pay? How do you expect your customers to pay you if you spam them continuously? How do you expect for your customers to pay you due to the lack of privacy, respect and most importantly lack of customer service.
I reckon you read my message and wake the hell up!
You want your customers to pay up? I doubt that will be the case for now
Unless you change your ways....you will not get payments.
Thank you!- Caller: HBC

- PJThis number called my sister's house 5 times yesterday and never left a voicemail (I guess that's what someone else referred to as psycho-calling; excellent term). I finally picked up on the 6th call and spoke with someone. I informed them that my sister is not home - away on a trip & won't be back for a while - would they like to leave a message? They were pretty rude to me and refused to leave a message with me. I told them that if they really want to speak with her they had better leave a message. No dice. Despite my speaking with them they have insisted on continuing to call and not leaving voicemails! They woke me up at 8 am today - Saturday.
I am getting frustrated as I am a student at the university and hold down a job so I keep odd hours. These a**holes are waking me up and disrupting my sleep! I have read through some of these posts ... the dude from HBC says they are concerned about privacy. Well, there's nothing wrong with LEAVING A VOICEMAIL ASKING THE PERSON TO CALL THE 1-800-A**-HOLE number. That way you're not disrupting innocent people who were trying to be polite. Maybe they figure that if they harass someone enough they will get in touch with the intended recipient and ask them to call the number so that they will stop calling? Smart technique. Great way to get people riled up against you.- Caller: refused to say
