- MaribelI got a similar call today from Nanaimo, I do apreciate a lot for this site, I won't call back of course
thanks so much - TANI received a message this morning from "Lee" about a convertable Hybrid.....Sounds to good to be true... I live in Vancouver, he was calling from Nanaimo. We last visited Nanaimo 2 years ago, we stayed at a resort.... I am not calling him back.
- ErinI've gotten 2 voicemail messages from "Shannon" (a man) at AVO West Resorts in Nanaimo, saying he needs more information from me regarding a draw I entered for a Lexus Hybrid. He asked me to call him back at 800-728-1695 ext 8365, and says he's in the "office" until 7pm. He also gave a reference number.
I didn't enter any draw, and I'm definitely not giving my personal info to some stranger on the phone! My caller ID reads 250-716-2650 when he calls. - (A)woow. thats kind of suspicious.
my family got the call too, today, telling us to go to
201 3997 henning drive coquitlam .... - Hugh CronicJust gotta call today, a guy names shannon? Sam deal number ref #, Was very stoked until research led me here. One thing to remember in this day of age is that things like this tend to be way to good to be true.
The actually called asking for my GF and left a message, I tried to contact her immediatly, and right now waiting for ehr to call em. At least I can tell ALOT more info on it, plus ill ask if she actually remembers entering for a lexus.
Cheers good blog thinger \m/>< \m/- Caller: Avia West
- MichelleI got a nice wake up call from Jeanine this morning. Apparently, my "husband" had gotten into the final round of a draw for a Lexus. Lol, I'm not married, so I was somewhat offended that she'd make the assumption. She left a message saying to call her back at 1-800-728-1695 Ext. 8315 & that she'd be in the office til 2pm.
I'm skeptical because I'd just won "a round trip for 2 to the Bahamas" yesterday. All it required was my address & credit card info.- Caller: Avia West
- DanI just got a call from Kelsey - same car has not yet been drawn obviously. I am on the do not call list - big help it is. I need a timeshare like Vancouver needs to bid on another Olympics.

- SalmaI just received a phone message announcing that they wanted to verify information regarding my contact info as I'm in a round of winning a Lexus Coupe the number provided 800-778-1695 ext 8309 and they confirmed a ballot number. I don not recall filling out any form for this prize in recent months. Can anyone shed some light on this. Noticed that most comments are 2008, over a couple years old. Have not tried calling them back...a bit unsure that this may be some time of identity theft. Thanks.

- dianeYesterday Feb 6, I received a call from AVO West Resorts that I had entered a draw for a 2009 Lexus Sport Coupe. I was to call back to 1-800-728-1695 Local 8309, that the person was there until 3 pm
to verify my entry form. I do not recall entering any draw, this is definitely a cheezy advertising ploy to get into time shares.- Caller: AVO West Resorts
- JlocksHappened today, from Nanaimo, left a message for my mother I called back, but they did not.

- annoyedTim from Aviawest/Nanaimo - allegedly confirming registration information to win a Lexus. Never entered such a contest, obvious scam.

- sosoGot the call today that they needed more info for a draw I entered about a Lexus sportscar. The phone number they gave me was 1-800-728-1695 and told be to call back with extension 8313.
- Mark replies to Phil| 4 repliesIt actually is a legitimate company, they do sell timeshares or vacation points, you can search them with BBB and check for complaints, I know we did and they have no complaints against them. If you have ever been in a mall and filled out any contest forms in BC I'll bet it is for them. That's what we did.
When they say they want you to come in it is to receive a sales pitch which for many people has worked out well and for others its not their thing. I am personally a points owner and was able to go to Palm Springs with my wife for 200.00 for a week at the Palm Springs Tennis Club using points. (the 200.00 is a booking fee that you are told about up front)
Is it for everybody? No, but just wanted to clear up that its not some shady company, all their info is online http://www.aviawest.com/ - Doug replies to Mark| 2 repliesEveryone,
This is a legit company, they just sell Time Shares.. There are a number of ways of getting on their call list. RCI is a VERY large Time Share company. Ballots, purchased Call Lists, etc. They just want to get you in for a 1 hour sales pitch on "time share holidays".. It's not for everyone, but it is real !
I Personally know the Pearson family and they are really good people, Lawrence especially. Andy and his family started and run the Pacific Shores Nature Resort in Nanoose Bay, just north of Nanaimo.
http://www.aviawest.com/about/the-aviawest-team/ - IMAWINNER replies to Doug| 1 replyHow are they legit if they say you won a car and dont give you the car?
- Norm replies to MarkAvia West sells timeshares, and any company that has to tell lies about being on a short-list for a nice prize (in my case a new BMW) is not reputable. When I was a teenager in the late 1950's, the only job I could get was going door to door telling people their name had been selected to 'win' $400' off the price of a televsion set. It brought a lot of customers into the store, but anyone who bought one with the discount actually paid MORE than they should have - it was cheaper without discounts at 'regular' honest stores.
I have gone to Avia West presentations (1 1/2 to 2 hours long) as my 'price' for taking advantage of their offers of dirt cheap stays at their resorts. I considered that waste of time a payment for the vacation I had at their resort....some of which are just outstanding. - Norm replies to IMAWINNERThey don't actually say you 'won the car'...you are a 'finalist' and 'can win', but I suspect there is no car to be won at all. See my note to 'Mark' dated July, 2010
- CoryGot a call from AVEO west name and need us eto call you back in a draw for a BMW. I called back, they had outdated information which confirmed to me this was a possible sales job. Then they tell you you have won a prize, you have to come to the resort to claim it. I said I wasn't interested
- Caller: AWEOWest
- wrong replies to Marlonyour completely wrong. They get your information off the ballot and the reason they call to verify is there is lots of fake ones in the draw, or someone could be entering your name. If you swear you didn't enter then that must be the case. Becasue that company only gets information OFF the ballot filled out, no selling information or anything like that. Other companies do do that but Believe me they don't.
- Sophia| 1 replyI received two calls from AVO Resort. Her name was Brenda, extension 8311, and they gave me a quote number saying they needed to varify my info regarding a draw I entered for a BMW X20.
I didn't call back because my colleauge googled the resort and this blog came up.- Caller: AVO Resort
