So, 800 777 6116 is a real number, it's Nissan finance collections dept.  For some reason, they don't mail or email you when something is very important, they just call and leave numerous strange, generic messages that sound like spam.  I'm glad I finally called though, because in my case, it was very important...

The Nissan payment collections rep (answering from India, of course) explains to me that Nissan Finance doesn't take the final payment out of the bank account you setup for automatic payments. Instead, you're required to make a separate payment for the last one.  How was I supposed to know that?  I've never heard of such a thing, but whatever. The kicker is, they let my account get 45 days late before they notified me, and only then via these strange calls from the collections dept.  How about sending me a f'ing bill in the mail?  My mailing address hasn't changed.  So, now I owe a late fee, and the credit beaurau has been notified of my "delinquency".  I'm sooooo mad.  I have perfect credit, and now have to fight some kind of credit dispute to get this removed.  Thank you NIssan Finance!!!!  Never again will I deal with you.

I just received a call from them on my work number and was extremely suspicious because they were trying to get personal information and have me pay over the phone. I didn't give them any information and instead said I'd have my wife call them back later. They promptly hung up the phone.  I called the dealership where I purchased the car to report a scam, and after telling them the number they told me it was a real Nissan number and that in fact my account really was overdue! They were convinced it was a real phone call, but I'm still not convinced. If it was they need to be a lot more professional.  So it still seems extremely sketchy but I guess I'm glad they called because now i can pay my car payment without having a late fee.  So I would say use caution.

This # calls daily, some times back to back. They don't answer right away when you say Hello, Hello...that's because all their calls are automated..which means the call is connected to you but not on their end. It's very frustrating. When they have answered, I noticed they have a heavy accent from India and at one time I asked if he was calling from America..he asked why. Another time I told the lady that I was not interested..she kept asking me why, why. I told her "BECAUSE I SAID SO" and hung up. I do own a Nissan but I am not behind on any payments thus they are from another country so for that I will never talk to them. If I have a problem with my Nissan I will contact them directly.  I know it sounds mean but I don't really care.

They cannot call before 8 am. You need to contact the FTC for violations. Or have your attorney send them a note with all the infractions and a demand for damages. $500 each time!

A woman with a very thick accent called saying she's from Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation telling me I owe money.

I googled the number during call and came across this site (THANK GOODNESS).

She demanded I pay over the phone with a credit card or else she will send my info to a debt collector.

I asked what her name was and where she is calling from to pull her info up if I could.

With a VERY THICK ACCENT, she paused for a second and said her name was SARA JOHNSON.

Really? I would have believed it more if she said her name was Neha Patel. I told her I would not be paying her anything and she wanted to know when I will make a payment.

I called NMAC directly after hanging up on her. Turns out...INDEED scammers but not so bright ones at that! During the call with the RIGHT rep, I learned:

1. NAMC will never ask for payment info as they do not have authority to process any payments (done through third party)
2. NAMC will never send their customer's info to a debt collector as they are big enough to handle it internally
3. These scammers spoofed and somehow are able to call as if actual NAMC is calling

Unwanted Debt Collector Called me research indicated the unknown number was from Infiniti Nissan and they had called me regarding an old vehicle. the number 800 777 6116 showed up on the caller ID and it had also shown usp as 8007776116 .

I get about 6-10 phone calls throughout the day, even on Sundays! It is Nissan supposedly trying to collect on past due payment and they want you to pay over the phone. It is very hard to understand what they are saying because they're probably based in India. But they do understand you very well. They were trying to collect $700+ in past due fees and I told them I was only a couple of days late and if I owed them so much money, then NISSAN needs to send me something in writing. Then I will pay them. Never received anything in writing! Those Mofo's will call you even a day after the due date.

I got my new phone and number about 10 days ago, and start receiving this spam call ~5 times a day.

When I called back, it asked for my Nissan account, which I don't have and will never have. I tried couple times to reach a real person and the guy with idian accent simply said he was busy or what then just hung up on me. After several tryings, I told the second person I finally reach that I don't have anything business with Nissan and please stop bombing my phone, and the guy asked my phone number then hung up again.

The spam call keeps coming ... I filed the FCC complaint and nothing changed.

I don't have a Nissan but they are calling me constantly.

Been calling me for last two weeks. Asked for Kevin.  Do not know a Kevin and have never owned a Nisson.  

Are they calling your cell? I am getting a class action against them. I have already retained an attorney we just need a couple more class members that are getting unwanted calls to their cell. call your state attorney's office and explain what is going on ....or even the BBB might help too.

Constant calls and no message.  Have number blocked and they still call. If you want me that bad leave a message!

Called my cellphone this morning, left no message.  After reading this board, I'm glad I didn't answer.  Yes, I own a Nissan.  No, I'm not late with a payment

The dealer told me it would be 45 days before my first payment.  15 days later I get a call from this number telling me my account is overdue.  I wouldn't give them any information and made a payment through my bank to a certified Nissan location.   They called again but when I answered there was a message about getting the next available operator.  I hung up.

got 3 calls today from "Nissan acceptance corp. 800-777-6116, never had a Nissan, called the no back, will take my no. off of the their calling list, yea right, will block no. hope that works.

I paid off my Nissan. Why would they be calling...must be a scam.

Nissan after 3 calls and hours of wasting my time inform me that they had made a typo on someone else's account.  Their incompetence is limitless.  This is the 4th major issue in 2 years.

this is a scammer pretending to be Nissan Finance. they probably scraped the info off my credit report that I leased a car.

NMAC customer service has a different number.
