PRIVACY ACT BE DANGED....   Other companies call and leave messages stating the name of the company calling, the person they are calling for, a number to call them back and sometimes a reference number....there is no reason this company can not do the same... People are away on vacation, for work or for other reasons unable to answer the phone for a number of days... people make arrangements with this company and receive calls numerous times a day until the arrangement day has come and gone, calls come prior to the due date of the bill also,  the calls ccan come as often as every 30 minutes Mon - Sat from early 8am till 10pm ... You can answer the phone and wait for all the automated garbage then listen to the person ask for so and so, you can tell them so and so won;t be back for another 14 to 30 days or whatever hang up and 30 minutes later go through the entire conversation all over again.... they need to get their act in geer place notes on files and pay attention to dates and what is said to them..... and don't give me the PRIVACY ACT crud as nothing I have said breaks any PRIVACY ACT LAWS....

Chase Bank, calling for Sears Canada.

Was 10 days past due and they called me relentlessly on my cell phone until I finally answered.
Another overseas call center where someone who could barely speak english is wasting my time instead of just leaving a message.

I paid the charge, and cancelled the card.  Won't be shopping at Sears anymore.

Grown-ups can spell, punctuate and read.  You're addressing people who are paid up too.  Here's hoping your fingers don't come out of your anus next time you reach for your keyboard to ignorantly topic-bray like some sort of animal

I agree with exasperated....i have ansered their calls and others too....I wish that they would call once every couple of eeks instead of 6-8 times a day.... It only makes sense if you talk to them honestly and openly the first time...that they should believe you....I have stopped answering my phone until my situation changes....

Called claiming to be investigating a case, implying they were part of the legal system. Said I had been named as a person of interest in this case. They are debt collectors, when I called them they said my name was flagged as a person of interest because I had the same last name. So they call everyone they can find with the same last name as who they are looking for? I told him it was illegal to represent themselves as part of the judicial system, he said yes, they had a lot of complaints about that, but had no control over that. he said it was their locaters and not his company directly.

#1. I don't owe them, someone else with same last name does. #2. When I called they told me I was called because I had the same last name. #3. They represented themselves as part of the judicial system, saying I was a person of interest in an ongoing investigation. #4. When I informed them it was illegal to represent themselves as part of the judicial system, he said he knew, they had a lot of complaints about that, but it was a locator company and they had no control over them. #4. If someone works for me I DO have control over them. So is it their job to harrass everyone with the same last name of the person they are looking for? Why don't you put yourself in MY shoes, since you are probably a collector anyway, from the sound of your ignorant post.

You need to get educated, they are calling me only because my last name is the same as who they are looking for. I don't owe them. They also are representing themselves as part of the judicial system saying I was named as a person of interest in an ongoing criminal investigation. You say they can't leave a message because of the privacy act, where is my privacy when they can invade my home and privacy saying I am part of a criminal investigation? Would you like it if every time someone with your last name defaulted they called you? I don't know why you collectors feel the need to post on here, guilty conscience perhaps?

Well they don't have to leave detailed  message
just say who is calling and  ask you to call back.
It would be the right thing for them to do.
