Same MO, sent me a text message from 129 asking me to call the same phone number everyone has from their caller ID.  However, he had called back a friend of mine which then I reversed it and that number is published as Diversified Collection.

A rep from DCS(800-927-7667 ext. 7790)called my parents on 01-05-10, asking them about me. The rep said her name was Connie Lane,I can guarantee thats not her real name (violation #1). She asked my dad why I was not answering my phone, that she was trying to call me, which proves she already knew how to reach me (thats violation #2). Then proceeded to tell him he was responsible for $180,000.00 worth of debt that I owed (violation #3). The proceeded to tell him that they would be at his home tomorrow 01-07-10 to start forclosure proceedings to take his home for a debt that he is not responsible for, nor I for that matter (violation #4). My elderly dad (in his late seventies) called me in a panic thinking these people could actually come repossess his home  without the proper court proceedings (violation #5). I can go on and on about the deceptive practices of this company and their violations they made with  just this one phone call made to my parents, but I think you get the picture.
According to the Texas Finance Code, http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/FI/htm/FI.392.htm 
they are not only civilly liable but are now criminally liable now as well, for their actions. I've had enough from these people. We have obtained an attorney on their behalf and will file a complaint with the Texas Attorney Generals Office, and whatever else it takes. Enough is Enough.

Same story.  A neighbor I don't know that well said Reggie Smith was needing to speak with me...number was 1-800-927-7667 ext 7097.  I wish some lawyer with cahones would file a class action against these people.  What about do not call lists... privacy... harassment...etc?

Yes, I have gotten several phone calls from this number and with the ext. 7033. The call was from California and then after several or more calls they decide to leave a messaage that this was not a solicitor but they were looking for a family member of mine and they didnt even have the right name. So I passed the message on to the family member. Then more calls and they start asking for another family member please get back to this extension. But then a couple more calls and another message for the second family member. But yet was totally different message from the first message and totally different message. Unbelieveable. And I returned two of there messages. And told this extension to please leave a message with a little bit of detail or please stop calling. Very annoying. And especially if u might have a night job. And u are trying to sleep during the day. I would say it is a little upsetting, dont u think? But anyway thanks for letting me leave a message.

DCS is company know for being brutal over the phone.  THey collect on student loans.  Basically they are out to get your money.  I had to learn this the hardway, I was pursuaded to make payments on my student loan. (I KNEW IT WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO) But this gentleman by the name of "Joe Schmit" or something to that sounding told me that my minimum payments were 200 dollars a month.  I told him that my hours were cut and that I was not able to make that payment. Long story short.... I hung up.  He started to call me every day, until he caught me on the phone at work after pay day. Since i was under the impression that this was the only option I decided to make the payment.  I did some research on the internet, and to my surprise this Joe guy ripped me off.  He knew I had a family, He knew that my money was tight, and he knew that I was going through a divorce.  Even knowing all this did not stop him from giving me the break i needed.  It turned out that my payments shoudl have been under 100 dollars.  LIARS!!! IF YOU ARE A HARD WORKING AMERICAN.... Trying to do the right thing, but still you come up short YOU ARE NOT ALONE....  I found this guy name "K" he is a student loan collector showing people what their options are.  Go check out his website he'll explain the student loan collector's culture and what they are about.... He'll spill all the beans...

Received a call a few minutes ago asking about my adult son. Man said he could not tell me what the business does as it is illegal. I told him a business that cannot say what it does must be illegal and to please send me the statute that says it is illegal; needless to say he refused.

This is NOT A REAL COLLECTION AGENCY!! Do not give them ANY personal information.  They are scammers who will try to illicit money from you illegally.  The real "Diversified Credit Solutions", who "DCS" claims to be if you ask them to validate their real name, has a phone number of 888-893-9119, & an actual web site.  I spoke with them this morning, asking them if this "DCS" phone number was in fact theirs, & they assured me that no, it isn't, and said "We get these calls a lot".  Another way you can tell that "DCS" is a fraud-- ask them for their actual street address so that you can verify their legitimacy as a real agency-- they'll waffle & hang up on you.  Disregard these crooks & demand that they not call you at home or at work ever again.  Demand paperwork-- if they actually ever really produce any, take it to a lawyer.

this person called my neighbor to try to find me....How did he get my neighbors number?????  Privacy is a thing of the past. My neighbor was told it was a business deal and he needed to get in touch with me.  I told my neighbor that I never answer 800 numbers.  This is scary, to say the least, that someone would go to such lengths to find someone for whatever!!  I did look up 800 numbers and found this to be a collections business. Can they be stopped????

They are an organization for people who have defaulted on their student loans. They are a collection agancy.

Probably a debt collector.  I got a call too concerning a friend; they even gave me information about this person.

sneaky annyoing, call them back and ask to be removed from there mailing list and ask for a supervisor and ask for money too..call em alot and tell em i know where you are and i have no life so well find you too...

I got a call this Saturday morning from Ben Ross-DCS saying that he was calling from California.  My caller ID said David Coyne from a Daytona Beach, FL number: 386-233-9844.  Ross proceeded to tell me that my Daughter had given my name as a reference to a business matter and he needed to speak to her. He asked me her telephone number, I replied that you will have to get that from her...Does she know you?  Well she known of our company DCS...he replied...I said then she will tell you her number.  Then he wanted to know what her current address was and I again stated that She will have to inform him, not me.  He said, fair enough, will you please have her call me when you speak to her again.  He said that his toll free phone number was 800-927-7667 x7929 and wanted to stress that he was on pacific time.
So, I checked out both numbers and here I am reading all of these reports!  WoW! I am so sick of these sorry individuals digging into my privacy and I will report this fraud to as many as I can!

My husband just got a call from the same person at his place of business about a debt of mine that I have been paying.  We have been married for two weeks, so my guess is she looked at facebook for his info.  She gave him my account number, my SSN, the amount owed, and told him that unless I contacted her today she would garnish his wages and he would lose his job!!!!  Way to go Paige!!  I filed a complaint with the FTC.
