This number is a fraud.  I had the same email sent to me and I don't even have an online banking account WITH THEM, yet alone using an email that I don't give out.  DON'T EVER ENTER INFORMATION OVER THE WEB - GO TO THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE AND CALL YOUR BANK FROM THERE!!!!!!!!!

Number is really from BoA...the email is a phishing scam.  BoA does not send emails to verify personal info.  They are counting that you will not call and will just click on the link.  Don't do it!!  Report it to abuse@bankofamerica.com by forwarding the message.

Repeat: phone # = really BoA...email = NOT from BoA

This number appeared in an email I "allegedly" received from Royal Bank of Canada.  The email tells you that your account is "locked" for too many attempts to enter with a wrong password. The instructions then say to go into your account and check your "Alerts" to confirm that the email is legit.

I guess the scammers were too stunned to figure out that if the account is locked, then you can;t get in to it to read teh alerts.  At least the email wasn't written in broken English

I just wanted to share that I also received the e-mail telling me to call this number because of "my account being locked due to too many sign-in attempts". The email contained my name and the last 4 digits of my credit card number, it appeared very legit. I pulled out my credit card, and called the number in the back of the card, which is not 800 933 6262. They indeed confirmed that the email message I received was a phishing attempt.

I also found out that the 800 933 6262 number is listed on the BofA website for technical support (https://www.bankofamerica.com/contactus/contactus.go?topicId=olb_tech_support). Just out of curiosity, I called the number from my cell phone (which is the number registered on my bank of america account), and it asked me for my full 9 digit SSN. Then I used a public phone, and it only asked me for the last 4 digits of the SSN. This is very strange, it's almost as if they could intercept the call and know whether the caller received the phishing message, therefore asking him/her the full SSN.

Lesson is: be veeery careful, don't give away your SSN unless you have a very high degree of confidence that you're giving it to the right person

    Who Me?
I also received a call from this number last month,
October 2013.  This appears to be a call from Bank
of America, but I don't have an account with them.
This is likely a fraudulent or spam phone call,
using this phone number (800-933-6262) as
    a false caller ID.

    My banks don't send emails.

This number is legit.  Is customer service.  I called it recently because could not log it to banks website and hadn't gotten any statements recently........They cancelled my Credit Cards for lack of use for a year.  Gave me no warning.   I had one credit card since 1986.   No respect.  Is the thanks I get for bailing them out.

Received a strange text msg supposedly from my bank giving me an auth code which would be good for the next 10 minutes.  If I did not request the auth code, was instructed to call customer support at 1-800-933-6262 for assistance.  Instead, I sent a secure msg to my bank asking for verification and help of calling.

I got an email today stating that i recently requested an auth i rization number. But if i did not i should call that number. I called and entered 1111 as my last 4 of my SS. It acted like it knew me. I went through the menu to the End where it asks for my card number. That is when i hung up. Its definitely fake. A good fake but still fake

At 09:53PM on 18 Oct 2014, I received a recorded call from, what the caller said, was Bank of America. I was to give a 6-digit number so I cold continue to access my VoA Account. I immediately knew it was a SCAM. My Called Id indicated "Name Not Found" and the calling number as "118009336262" probably an International call.

Bank of America request for authorization code 986959 call 1-800-933-6262 for approval.

Bank of America request for authorization code 9511088 call 1-800-933-6262 for approval.

I never reply to 800 cell phone text messages as I realize they are probably scams.  Unfortunately some unsuspecting persons do respond and do not have a good outcome.

3/31/2015 - 7:10 AM - phoned - I did not answer as only the number appeared on my caller ID.
Do not know who or what they wanted....looked online to see who belonged to this number.  We do not have an account with BOA.

Just received two calls from this number, but it listed on my caller ID as name not found with two 1's so 118009336262.  I called BoA from the phone number on my statement not left in the message. The online banking team stated I was in fact locked out this morning from failed attempts. However, they also stated that they don't call like that. I believe years ago they did, as I had locked myself out when online banking started being popular. She helped me reset my info and noted my account. I emailed them the number that called with a summary.

If BoA doesn't/didn't actually call, I am concerned that the "people" who attempted to access my account twice this morning, also had my home number to call.  :(

Just received two text messages alerting that my authorization code is about to expire in 10 minutes and call the number if I didn't request the code.

I do not own a BoA account.

    Obviously a fraud.
