No!  This is a scam.  Don't know who "Scott" is, but I'd guess "he's" a scammer.

I received a text from a number only reading: 73981.  on 9/13/18 at 7:30 am.
It reads:  Bank of America:  510423 is your authorization code which expires in 10 minutes. If you didn't request the code, call 1.800.9*33.6262 for assistance.
when you call it then asks you for your account number.
this is the point i hung up.

That is a legit BOA number

Hackers can "spoof" a phone number.  So just because the number is legit, if you call it from a hyperlink, you're not necessarily calling that number.

Msg on cell ph with a code and call in 10 minutes.  List the number 800-933-6262 if I didn't request the code.  Came on my phone during the night.  Did not call and deleted and am now reporting the call.

Received a letter with this phone number 800-933-6262.listed to call BOA regarding online banking. Don't have online banking with BOA so didn't logon or call number. Thanks for this service of reporting fraud.

Received the following text from 66952:  771317 is your authorization code which expires in 10 minutes. If you didn't request the code, call 1.800.933.6262 for assistance.  When I called I got a recording that this was BofA  and to enter my account number or debit card number.  I did not because #1, I am not stupid and #2, my account was hacked last night and I had close to $1000 drained from it in on-line purchases.  BofA froze my card that night and I canceled the card today.  The account is locked until I re-open it, sometime after I receive my new card.  I did not request an authorization code and when I called BofA they told me this is not one of their numbers.  NEVER GIVE ANYONE CALLING YOU INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR ACCOUNTS!!!

Hmm... seems like these 'fellas' have been doing the same thing since at least 2007; I just wonder how many unsuspecting folks have they screwed over?

Received the following texts from 73981 5 times. Saying,  some 6 digit #  is your authorization code which expires in 10 minutes. If you didn't request the code, call 1.800.933.6262 for assistance. I only have a credit card which I do not use. Didn't call that number but the fraud division at Bank of America. They said the account was fine and don't worry about it. They didn't seem to be concerned. That was not exactly the response I wanted. Clearly someone has hacked into BOA accounts and has phone numbers of people who have Bank of America accounts.
I will be closing my my account with them. Never had this problem with WF, Chase or any other bank.

I didn’t pay attention and 5 hours latter y received 2 phone calls from this number ‭(800) 933-6262‬

Iv'e been getting texts from this number with an authorization code from Bank of America.  I didn't call it, had my card and checked online for unknown activity.  I do truly hate these trolls.
