Person called from this number; a short message asked me to stay on the line.  The person they were asking for was my next door neighbors son who lives in Los Angeles.  Not sure how they got my number as theirs.  Told them they had the wrong number and notified my neighbor.

I got a text message saying this:

Bank of America: 540625 is your authorization code which expires in 10 minutes. If you didn't request the code, call 1.800.933.6262 for assistance.

I don't have an account with Bank of America. I don't give out my phone number to just anyone. And right after I changed phone numbers I had gotten a weird recording in my voice mail telling me my debit card from Bank of America was mailed out and if I didn't receive it I was to call them. Once again I don't have a bank account from Bank of America and the phone number that showed up was a NY area code.

I received an email "Online Banking Alert" concerning my online banking access being locked because the number of attempts to sign in exceeded the number allowed.  I called this number and they asked for the last four of my SS#.  I felt like it could be a phishing attempt, so I hung up and called the number on my card.  Sure enough, the real Bank of America does not recognize this number, nor were there any issues on my account  THIS IS A SCAM!!!

    forward email to fraud@bankofamerica.com.

The phone number is legit - Bank of America......regarding any emails, ALWAYS be safe and even though an email may include correct phone numbers it still could be a phishing fraud scam - so be careful on emails but the phone number is GOOD!!!!

I received a text frim a BoA authorized number with the following:
Bank of America: XXXXXX is your authorization code which expires in 10 minutes. If you didn't request the code, call 1.800.933.6262 for assistance.
However none of the Bank of America help numbers had the 8009336262 listed, so I Google and found myself here.
    Be careful out there

I got the same email.  After looking at the email closely with misspelled words, weird sentence, etc. it became obvious that this was either written by an illiterate American or a person from some other country.  If this isn't a scam I will personally apologize to Bank of America, a bank where we have no accounts!
