Whoever this is called me this morning and left no message.  All I saw was a "missed call" from this number on my cell phone.

Called my cell phone. I wasn't able to answer, so it went to voicemail. No message left.

Discover Card...

They claim they are Discover. They have my balance and last 4 digits of my card. BUT they didn't have my address. Hmmmm, when I refused to give them my address, she hung up on me. I called the number on my Discover card, they had nothing in their files that stated they we trying to reach me and they new my address. My guess is that Discover has sold "parts" of our information to someone else. It is irritating as they call often. I just don't ever answer now. Scam.

A barrage of calls from this number throughout the day, every day for over a week.  They leave a recorded voice msg: "it is important you call us re: your Discover account" at this 800 number.  When I answered the call to tell them to stop harassing me I also get the recorded message.  I called the number, they asked for the last 4 digits of my card number, then the last 4 digits of my SSN - I did not provide the SSN and instead asked: "What is this regarding?" A person named Alex said: "You called us".  I said: "No, you have been calling me non-stop asking me to call you, so what is this about?".  He hung up.  

ONLY call the number on the back of the card.  THIS IS A SCAM TRYING TO GET MORE ACCOUNT INFO FROM YOU.

They have been calling me all day. I haven't answered, as I never answer unknown numbers. Of course, they don't leave a message. I guess they will give up eventually. So annoying. Especially since I'm on the do not call list! SPAM

It's a scam, it is not discover. Have your card changed  immediately

This is NOT the hardship department... Call the # on the back of your credit card... This is a scam

This is a scammer.  They leave a message to call Discover Card immediately at this number.  I called the card company using the number on the back of my card.  The rep said there is no issues or notations on my account.

They have been calling me for weeks and I have on my home phone the ability to block numbers. My cell is already being investigated by my carrier and the FBI. This number will be turned over as well. Spammers, spoofers, hackers and whoever wants to do evil...I am one to not mess with. They have no clue as to who I am, who I know and my intelligence. Good luck everyone.

After ignoring these dopes for a few weeks I picked up the phone. Some jerk asked for my wife by first name (guarnateed to hack me off, especially when they refuse to identtify themselves first). He claimed to be with DIscover Card ( my wife DOES have an account with them). Told him to not call again, if they need to contact us to use the US Postal System. After reading the comments here I realize someone was trying to scam us. Lottsa luck with THAT one!

Next time I'll tell the twerp he's gotten the number for the local police dept. We'll see what happens then.

Discover called to ask if I wanted to enroll in automated monthly payments on my account. They verified the last four digits of my SSN and the last four digits of my payment account number - did not ask me for any other personal information.

Definately fraudulent activity, someone's point of sale system that has your phone number got hacked.  

Discover has gotten a very high volume of calls about this number and are going after the crooks behind this, as are authorities.  Use call block on this number for sure.  

Never take a sales call from anyone claiming to be associated with or selling anything related to your bank or credit cards.  Always call the card number on the back of your card to see if someone is legit.  Chances are they are not.  Also avoid giving retail stores your phone number and/or email address if you want to avoid getting calls from identity thieves that steal your credit card and contact information from retail stores' point of sale systems.

I've received 3 calls from this number in the past 2 hours I believe its a scam

As an employee in that "hardship" department. I can testify that this is REAL number. With a REAL Discover Card rep. If you answered the phone, you would quickly find out. There are regulations that restrict us from leaving a certain amount of voicemails. And P.s the number on the BACK OF YOUR CARD is Customer Service. Who has nothing to do with the department. I get calls from this number every couple of hours, ALL DAY LONG. The one or two times I've picked up, they ask me to hold while they transfer "this important call" to someone who can help me. I've never waited to be transferrd.

Simple point to Discover,  if it is your Debt collection department, your hardship department or any other Discover department,  if you don't leave a message,  it is not important enough for me to be concerned with responding (or answering in the first place).  As for why you would be calling me,  all payments are current,  balance is high, but really,  3-4X a day to do what?  irritate me into using a different card?  Your getting close.
