Ashlee, Ashley, however you spell it tried to bullcrap herself saying she was from Discover. She immediately asked for full credit card number and/or social security to confirm account. I informed her that she should have info recently on file as she called me and should be able to pull up with just my name. She gave some bs info about call not populating and would be able to direct my call to "correct department" once I provided info. I told her that if something was wrong with my account, debt or otherwise, that she was harassing me and I would communicate via paper only. Furthermore, she should have at least working knowledge of what she was calling about as I returned call rather immediately. She then argued with me more about call not populating and became sarcastic. I then called Discover on back of my card, and they flat out said it was a scam as the had "no record of Ashley" and they keep records anytime they make a call.

I answered this call by accident  (lol) and it was discovered card wanting to lower my interest rate if I made a one time payment over the phone with her.  She knew my balance and due date.  She was calling because my balance creeped up over the limit.  It seemed legit to me, because she already had a lot of information.  What more would a scammer need?  I didn't do it because I was busy and needed to end the call, but I will call Discover to see if I can get my interest rate lowered after paying online like I usually do.

I got a call from this number and called the number on my card, only to be told by customer service that they didn't have a record of any issues or needing to call me. After reviewing the notes here, and since I had used a special account feature last year after losing my job, I figured I'd send a message through the web site and received this in reply:

"Thank you for your message regarding your Discover account. I understand your concern about the call you received, and I am happy to assist you today!

The call was a legitimate call from Discover Card."

But no further details beyond that. I have to assume it's like others are reporting - the "lower your payments" or whatever marketing thing they're trying to sell you. Maybe not a scam but probably not worth the time/money.

This really is Discover Card. But they are annoying as hell, I've missed calls from them every morning for the past 2 months. I finally answered this morning and they were calling referring about auto direct pay. So yes, they called 2 months straight about automatic payments... ridiculous! So then looked on here and saw it could be a scam so I logged into my account and she really did sign me up for Auto Direct Pay and also set up my next payment to be automatic. So needless to say this girl really was with Discover card.

Same here - they call constantly. If they'd leave a message, that'd be different, but seriously!

After multiple calls EVERY day of the week at ALL hours for MONTHS, I contacted my commonweath's Attorney General reporting the calls as harassing & provided them links to as many of these number inquiry sites as I could find. At the behest of this site's moderator to "please watch (my) language," I'll refrain from typing what I REALLY would like post; however, suffice it to say my diatribe would make their eyes burn & their ears retract into their collective skulls.

I called the number back, they asked for my full account number so that they could access my account, which I wasn't about to give, I already told the guy I read a bunch of reviews that they were scammers, so he then asked for my social.  Ummm, Heck no!   so he asked if he could have my phone number.  I asked him to put it in as it was on his caller id (every call center I've ever worked at  has had a caller ID) he advised they didn't have it.  So I called the number on the back of my card, the young lady told me there was no reason anyone would have been calling on my account and no record of any one trying to reach me from any other dept,  She also said that Discover will always leave a message to call them back (this 800-951-0062 calls me numerous times a day and never leaves a message) and that the dept trying to reach you will also notate your acct.
Long story short, still sounds like a scam to me.

This number has started calling here over the weekend. It was kind of creepy today because they called right as my husband was pulling out of the driveway. They never leave a message, but I can hear noise like a phone bank in the background. So tired of this I picked it up and hit call. The recording says they are Discover and asks for the last 4 digits of my account for verification. I immediately hung up the phone. I went and checked my account. Everything good, no notices, no special offers, nothing. This is a scam and I hope they get these guys and CRUSH them!

Recorded message said that our windows had expaired. SCAM

Got a call from this number to "verify my information.  I do not do that when someone calls me.  So I called the number on the back of my card and they said yes it was them.

Called several times a day,  finally answered.  It's discover.  Calling for high usage, Apr rates etc. I called discover to verify it was actually them calling.

This message is for Amanda.. his name was unknown calling from Discover Card. He requested that I give him a call on Monday thru Friday, 8am to 10pm, even though he called me in a Saturday at 12:30p.

These people call multiple times a day. I blocked another number that they called from, and now they started calling from this 800-951 number. I blocked this number, and I still see messages that they leave many times during the day. On this past Sunday I have had enough of them, and I called the number back and a lady asked for the last 4 numbers from my card. I told her no way, and that I’m on the do not call registry and they needed to stop calling. She told me they needed my social to know who I was, and I told her that I’m not stupid enough to give her that. I told her to have her company to stop calling me, and then she informed me that they needed my number to stop block me. I told her me giving her my name would be enough information for her, and she began to get snippy with me. I then called the number on back of my Discover Card for the 3x, and they said many people are calling them regarding this issue, even people who were not customers, but all she could advise me to do is to not give them any personal information. I’m so fed up with these jerks. I don’t know what else to do, especially if the real Discover Card Co. cannot do anything about these scammers.
