I received a call from said basically the same thing that  Rabbit has wrote.  The number belongs to a  Benjamin Roskelley
                        53 S 300th E, Apt 6
                        Salt Lake City, UT  84111

I don't think it's legit.  If it was I think it be in an Apt.

We continue to get calls from this number...we never answer it but it is irritating.

First of all I have NOT answered their calls. The past 2 days I have been called every 2 - 3 hours starting 10am until 6pm. I just want it to STOP.  I will not give to a charity over the phone.  I AM REGISTERED ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY AS WELL!

I get the same dam calls from 801-359-4116.  They never leave a message.

I don't believe they are legit.  I've been getting calls off and on from either The Fraternal Order of Police, or Firefighters Union something or something for YEARS.  They change numbers.  They used to be 801-363-2955, I've long lost the number they used for the firefighters charity.  

I haven't had a call from them for a year.  The last time I talked to them I demanded they give me the name and number of their contact with the police department that I could call and verify their legitimacy.  They said they would not call me back again, which the didn't, until this week.

If they actually ARE legitimate, call the numbers for the real UFOP and complain that the company they outsourced their fund raising to is harassing the very people they are trying to get donations from.

This number calls 2 to 3 times a day and doesn't leave a message.  Very annoying! Stop harassment!

They just called me 2/20/2009, and they asked for the "lady of the house" and said they were "The corporation for character"

We are a non prophit organization that will put you on our do not call list, if you tell the person that calls to do so.  The National DNC list does not apply to non prophit organizations, if it did, then the politicians could not call and ask for your support, or donations.

You can email your phone number to ryanh@familytv.com, and he will put you on the FOP Do Not Call list.

How many times is too many times to get calls?  I got called from this number last week and they asked for the "man of the house", I said I was and they asked about donating to the police.  I said no.  

The next day they called and asked for the "woman of the house."   I said we weren't interested.... yet the number has come up twice since then.  If the police are using these people, I will NEVER donate.  I can only assume these telemarketers are stupid or intentionally harrassing.... either way if the police really are using these bozos to raise money, I suggest they stop immediately.

Have received so many calls from this number (after initially stating I wasn't interested in donating to the Fraternal Order of Police), that I added it to my phone's "block call" list.  Unfortunately, my husband answered tonight on the 1st ring (phone feature kicks in AFTER 1 ring).  They asked for ME by name (lady of the house), but then, both our names are listed in the white pages.  Told my husband it was "Corporation of Character" calling, or something weird like that.  Can't imagine a legit business believes there's anything to be gained from continuing to call me... ???

Yep, called me 2 or 3 times a day asking for the lady of the house.  everytime I said what do you need they either hung up or said we will call back.  After about 6 annoying calls I yelled at them to stop calling and hung up.  Another call and I immediately said stop calling and the guy was polite and said he would put my number on their do not call list.  Finally no more calls.  
 Also be sure to contact UTAH DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER PROTECTION and voice your complaints.  I spoke to one of the investigators about the harrassing calls that I and many friends were getting.  They are actually developing a criminal case against the call center that the FOP uses for their fund raising.

I'm an idiot.  I realize this, there's no need to point it out.

I decided to actually donate to this organization.  I had been getting these calls almost everyday, from the same guy (now I realize it's just a well done computer voice), so I thought if they're trying so hard, why not.  Also, my fiance's a cop, so I thought it would be nice.  I'm now trying to take back my donation (hopefully I'll be able to do this by tomorrow).  

After giving my donation I decided to ask the guy about the organization and get their website etc.  Suddenly he started going on about how he could either send me a pledge card in the mail, or I could make my donation online through the website (note: this was AFTER I had given my credit card information).  I was confused so I said "Um... I thought I already made my donation, like, a second ago..." and then this OTHER voice (much deeper and even creepier sounding, if you can believe that) came in and started talking about the website and how I could make a donation there, and suddenly I heard all this noise in the background as well.  So, confused, I asked if I had been talking to a recording before.  Then the OTHER voice we all know and "love" so well came in saying "Oh, do I sound that bad?"  And I said, "Oh, no, it just sounded like I was suddenly talking to a completely different person.  It was a little weird."  And then the guy said, "Well, I understand your concern.  Thank you for your donation today." And hung up!

This does not seem legit at all to me and I am now trying to cancel my (albeit small) donation!  Don't be an idiot like me.

Don't call list should protect from calls like this, but scammers know how to go around it. Looking at the records on this chat, they have been harassing people from August last year. Who is the State authority in Utah to take care of these guys?  Federal Attorney?   Why we still are getting these calls?

I said yes and then thought to myself how do they know my name, then he went on but first he made a joke and then went on with his speech, I answered a couple questions not giving out personal information of course and then all of a sudden in the middle of his speech he said he had to go and would call later but he hung up before I could tell him no thankyou.
