And, Tracfone won't let me turn off voice mail.

Have had message, from this number, that I could not understand, left on my cell phone on numerous occasions.  V E R Y   A N N O Y I N G!!!! AND USING UP MY CELL PHONE MINUTES IF I ANSWER.

I get the call and they tell me they're from micro soft and that my computer is infected with a bad virus. they want me to turn on my computer and give them my personal information. Voices have a heavy accent and many other voices can be heard in the background (boiler room). Sometimes the phone call comes rfom a 206 area code, but most recently has been coming from 805-637-7243. The calls always come to my cell phone. If I tell them I don't have a computer - they hang up.

Look at the number again. It's 805 not 807. It's got nothing to do with tmobile voicemail.

I have been getting this meg for a few days now. What is going on?   I can't even get my voice mail to clear. Will some on please fix this!!!

I only started getting this (and a bunch of other numbers) after looking up info on a cut rate health insurance agency called "Golden Rule".  Because I showed interest in their business, it gets them past the "do not call" law.  I guess I am now considered a "business assocate".  Since that fated look up for info two months ago I have gotten hundreds and hundreds of calls, many times 7 or 8 mechanized calls in the space of 30 seconds from one number. I put them on my reject call list so it doesn't ring, but they still take up space and have to be deleted.  I am so sorry I ever looked at that website and was dumb enough to put in my phone number--they wouldn't give info without it. Seems Golden Rule is just a service to provide insurance companies with phone numbers of potential "mark"s and to get them past the do not call law.

This has been on my Verizon bill...multiple times. I don't know anyone in SB or ever owned a T Mobile . I had my account credited and reported the number to he fraud dept.

Yes  IT IS DEFINITELY T-mobile! I have T-Mobile and I just added my chic to my account 5 days ago. She gave me the # and I dialed it from my decade old established account and the number popped up on my screen as VOICE MAIL and then I heard my saved messages. Basically, IT IS T-Mobiles way of getting new subscribers going on setting up their VOICE MAIL on T-Mobiles universal voice mail #. GauranF**kingteed! Take it to the bank mon! GO SUN DEVILS !

I get calls at least twice a day from this number & ran a reverse look-up & it said the calls were coming from Santa Barbara, CA  I quit answering them & the voice messages, they made no sence anyway.

Four calls TO this number on my most recent landline bill. Two on Juy 17, one on July 19, one on July 22. Each is for 2 minutes in duration. I made no such calls.  I live in Virginia.  The number is shown on my bill as a Santa Barbara, CA number.

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile and they had to reset my VM.  I gave them the phone number and the reset my VM!  If it were the number to use when you're on a land line they would have said so.  Please report this to your DA.

I got a voice mail from yhis number that claimed to be a debt collector. I saw that others claimed it was a T-Moble what ever. Who is this?

I got a voice message from this number. The caller said his name was "prophet Manassah" and that he had a word from the Lord for me and to call him back at (800) 234-9071

I got this call a few times already.  Never leave a msg.  I don't answer calls I don't know.

I received two calls today from (805) 657-7243 but did not answer.  Voicemail was soliciting ways to make money online.  Long history of abuse from this caller.

At a minimum, a complaint should be filed with the FCC at http://www.fcc.gov/complaints.  The form takes a few minutes to fill out and you can file a complaint against three different numbers.  I think this is the most effective way to deal with this problem.  If you file a complaint with the FCC, be sure to submit the link to this thread in the complaint form.  That way, the FCC will be aware that the caller has done this repeatedly.

We need CRIMINAL penalties against the companies that are profiting from these calls. Follow the money, slap them in jail, no one left to outsource to overseas boiler rooms, problem solved.
Since they are operating across borders it should become a federal felony and should be handled by the FBI under the RICO Act.

These calls are coming from call centers in Costa Rica and India and they are using spoofed (false) numbers, which in itself is illegal. They do cold calling for or sell the leads to numerous companies in this country and they know that what they are doing is illegal. Tomorrow this same number may be selling Cruises, Timeshares or Security Systems, but if you follow the money it usually ends up in the hands of an American LLC. Keep complaining to the FTC and FCC, and start bugging our politicians to pass laws to make it punishable in criminal court instead of handing out fines that they don't pay. Another course of action is to contact phone companies to find out why they won't block spoofed numbers. With today's technology that should be an easy thing to do, unless they are somehow profiting from the use of their systems.

Robocalls are illegal unless you have given them prior permission in writing (not worded into some small print contract from a 3rd party) and are absolutely illegal to a cell phone.  The Telephone Consumer Protection Act permits individuals who have received certain unlawful telemarketing, such as junk faxes or telemarketing calls, to sue the violator in state court where they may be awarded up to $1500 for each violation.  See:
