- LostandTiredI had greatt credit two years ago, both my husband and I did. We had some credit cards, easily paid every month. Within this past year, he was laid off, off and on. He's in the construction trade. During this time of being unemployed, he tried finding another job. Of course, jobs are hard to come by. So we squeezed by with my whole $10 an hour, and his unemployment $, not to mention, having two babies to feed. These creditors, do not care. You can be an excellent honest paying person for years, and the moment you are lost, you are just as "terrible" as the rest of them. Our credit went from around 720 to 520 within a few months, because of some unfortunate times. Situations like this do happen, and unfortunately not everyone has someone to "bail" them out. With times like these, sometimes credit cards are necessary to pay bills, and feed your kids. Unfortunately, if you fall short, then you are just out of luck. I find it terrible people say "Then pay your bills" without truly understanding what it's like to struggle. No one asks to be laid off, no one likes being in debt. It's an uneasy, sickening feeling that I struggle with everyday, and have constant reminders of my thousands of phone calls from these company's. I can only wish and hope for the day I do not have debt, and can breathe easy again. However, I have these phone #'s harassing my husband and I, countless times of day. I'm tired of it. Capital One is worse than Citi, they charged me like crazy for one failed payment, all of a sudden it went from $15 to $220 within 45 days of a minimum payment. Of course, I don't have that upfront, and shouldn't have to pay such an incredible ridiculous jump of an amount. They harassed me for a year, and I called and thought they agreed to "good faith" payments of $20 a month until I could do more. They set that up, for February 26th. However, they failed and charged my account off and sold my debt to a collections agency. My balance went from $800 to $1400 in fees, and the lady at the creditors office told me, Capital one had plans to charge me off February 16th, and knew this, and that is why I was screwed over anyway. I think I have a case against them. Anyway, I have compassion and sympathy to all in debt due to loss of work. I think it's ridiculous major credit card companies can be bailed out - but not us little people.

- ABI've gotten several calls and if i pick up the line goes dead. When i let them leave me a message it says it's city bank calling about the account, this is not a marketing call please call 888-309-7367 to discuss your account. I didn't even know i had a city card.
When i called the 888 # they couldn't tell me if it was a Sears or Home Depot card and they gave me an 800 # for each one of them. I called each one and went though every account i've ever had with them for the past 20 years and there was never a problem on any one of them. I thought that would take care of it. But no!
Not 10 minutes later i got another 816-420-4003 call with a hang-up. So i called that number direct and explained that i have no idea why they're calling or what account they're call about. They gave me their 'customer serivce' number 800-917-7700. This guy said he couldn't help me until i could find the 888 number which i couldn't put my hands on at the time.
Then another 816-420-4003 call with a hang-up.
I called the 816-420-4003 number again and this time a Mr. "Ford" told me that he would make sure that i did not receive any more phone calls from 816-420-4003 or 888-309-7367. That was way too easy so i don't believe i won't hear from them again. I will be complaining to the state regulatory agency and the National Do not Call Registry.- Caller: 816-420-4003
