- NoemiSame letter from Jim Lu with tel no +85281932247.As I read it, I know it is a big scam.! There's a lot of same surname as mine so definitely this deceased John 'family know about his investment as we are close knit family surname known only to one place.
- Idiot| 1 replyI was nearly sucked in by this scam, but I have not given any bank details as I felt sure it must be a scam. The man's name is now Mr Malachi Adu, and the sum in question has gone up to $21 million. I was suspicious because the name Adu sounded Ghanaian to me, and certainly not Chinese (I have some experience with both). However, I went along with it, as I really hoped it might be true. He said all the things about confidentiality that others have mentioned, and also sent me two photos purporting to be of him and his family. He claimed to have used all his savings and to have sold his rice paddy farm in order to pay the initial costs. I have now received letters from the Dalian Bank, the FSA(China) and a legal consultant called Peter Shenlong, (because I said that I was unable to go to sign the papers in Hong Kong myself), asking for $16,950.00 for legal costs. I emailed Mr Adu to say that I have no money with which I could pay this, nor any way to raise it quickly, so what could I do? He apparently called my mobile phone while it was on the charger when I was asleep, but I was unable to retrieve the number. I shall be sending him another email now that I have seen all these people's stories, and you can be sure that it will NOT be to tell him that I will be sending the money forthwith!!
- Caller: Mr Malachi Adu
- Call type: Prank

- belfast billy replies to RS| 1 replySeptember 2013 just received letter from Pan Yeo, Business Relations Manager, China Construction bank in Hong Kong. Apparently Xiamen International have $18 million - from an intestate relative which Pan is willing to share with me if I don't betray his confidence. Oops there goes $9 million.
- Ms PositiveThanks to you all for your contributions. It was quite alarming when I received my letter a few weeks ago and it stated my grandfathers name as the deceased. However it said that he had died in China and I know for a fact that my grandfather had died in the USA maybe it was just a coincidence that they had chosen that name. Nevertheless I was almost taken in by it all until I spoke to my financial adviser and followed this up with some research which lead me to this site.At the moment I am playing the game with them as the seem to have my name and address. What no one here has mention is that the have received papers from these persons. Yes someone said they have claimed to have paid legal fees (they sent me the recite) then then enclosed an affidavit as a sworn testimony of the solicitor who is working this case as well as the document which were sworn before he died due to the fact he did not have a will loool. All fun and games not a bad way to pass time if you got nothing better to do. Oh by the way don't tell anyone I have shared this with you cause my contact still works at the bank and can not let anyone know he has been in contact with me
Will keep you posted - Ms Positive replies to belfast billyWell he offered you more then he offered me. Mine was $17 million after deductions of his already outlaid monies which he raised by selling his rice farm. Hope his family were not relying on the inheritance to buy it back
- MB replies to RSThis letter is now going out under the name Jin Feng - same scam, long lost relative died intestate in China, offer to split the $17.5 million. As someone else has noted don't reply in any way to texts or messages, even to say STOP.
- SteveReceive request to split a fortune claiming that my brother had died in a car accident in mainline china!
- Caller: China construction bank
- DCM of WorcsMine was a letter from JLU@Yahoo.com and exactly the same. It's going in the bin but I do worry that our Interpol and local Police do not stop this. Fortunately my surname is as rare as an honest letter from this person, so I know every person in the world named who I am told died in China....If it seems to good to be true, then it IS too good to be true.
Am I doing the wrong thing (binning the letter) as I really cannot be bothered taking it to the Police? - PatC replies to Mark| 1 replyHi he is still at it as we have received the exact same letter today from Jim Lu dated 20th October 2013!!
- Whizz29 replies to PatCYep sounds like you got the same letter we did. Received today - same email address etc.
- James Cornthwaite replies to John Loosemore| 1 replyMy Grandfather aged 89 also received a letter from Mr Jim Lu with email address Jlu87@yahoo.com saying that he was left $17.370 million US Dollars but that Jim Lu gets half.
